 | AndrewScott (71) 02/08/2004 | Physical therapists help patients suffering from injuries or other disabling conditions recover their functionality. It can feel rewarding to help restore a patient's health and self-sufficiency. Patients range from accident victims to arthritis sufferers to those with cerebral palsy. As a PT, you may teach physical exercises and how to use adaptive devices. To enter the field, you need to pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy and pass a licensing exam. Good PTs are resourceful, not easily exhausted, caring, and interact well with all types of people. Considered one of the fastest growing career opportunities.

 | Janey_Lane (0) 11/05/2001 | This would require patience (which I don't have) and compassion (of which I am severly lacking) to be a physical therapist. To encourage and support whomever you work with and always trying to keep their spirits up. If I was rating the desirabillity of the occupation for me personally I'd give it 1, if I was rating importance I'd give it 5. It's a tough job I'm just glad someone's doing it.

 | Lord of the Waves (0) 10/20/2001 | Sounds like a very rewarding job. Knowing that you can help other people be physically rehabilitated. it should be higher up on the list.
