 | Mike Longboarder (0) 01/12/2001 | Instead of the HP Jornada buy a real PC notebook. This is expensive, hard to use and tends to crash. It has limited functions and quickly runs out of batteries. If you want compact, buy a Palm instead.

 | ritzz (0) 11/21/2000 | This is one of the best of all the latest PC products from Microsoft. Hewlett Packard made this device in a small case with enough power as a laptop.

 | Ketel1 (0) 11/15/2000 | This HP hand-held is user friendly, easy to navigate and in full color. The best thing about the unit is the built-in recording device, which when activated can record conversations, lectures or personal thoughts for up to thirty minutes in length. This handheld has 8MB of memory, giving it enough power to download books, link to the internet and organize and prioritize tasks and schedule.

 | PorkChop (0) 11/15/2000 | In my opinion, this is the best unit out on the market. It has a good size and weight and the best memory capacity. It also uses the system I'm most familiar with. It's only drawback is not having a hard drive.

 | jquach (0) 10/30/2000 | Not bad at all. It is one of the best that I have so far. Another one I have is the 3com Palm VII. I like the HP better for quality.

 | azee8687om (0) 07/16/2000 | Good but heavy - plus it is not very appealing aesthetically. Plus the OS is not very fast causing irritation for the user. No wireless support. Modular software components are missing, making customization to one's needs rather troublesome. It is, however, cheaper than comparable products in this class.

 | thtr8499om (0) 07/12/2000 | I have one, (I know, I am a computer junkie), it's pretty cool. The only thing is Pocket power point isn't very helpful because of the microscopic fonts. Other than that, I chose htis over a Palm Pilot because I can take the Jornada (which is a lot lighter than a notebook) and do everything I can with a PC!!! It's in color too!!!

 | tomm8497om (0) 07/12/2000 | It's not very useful. It is much too hard to use. The images aren't good. It is too big. The batteries don't last long either.

 | EdAl5712et (0) 04/05/2000 | HP Jornada 820 (the subnotebook, not the palm sized device).
First, before my Windows CE rave, a caveat: WinCE is not gaining marketshare, and Bluetooth's 200 plus member consortium's Helsinki experiment will soon prove the concept of pervasive computing - but not with Microsoft's support. By the way, whatever happened to Revolv, that MS/Qualcomm partnership?
Now regarding Windows CE and HP Jorndada 820:
As a business development executive for an E-commerce integrator/incubator, my typical day involves frequent travel, numerous meetings and multimedia presentations. Imagine people's surprise when my HP Jornada 820 switches on instantly and projects my presentations in seconds. Gone are the unproductive, awkward wait times involved with booting up a laptop, and the Jornada's 10 hour battery lasts all day. I've never run out of power between charges. Customers express appreciation when we get down to business right away, making more productive use of everyone's
time, and I've never had a foul-up with the handy onboard 56K modem and VGA output.
In addition to MS Outlook, I synchronize my PowerPoint presentations, Maps, faxing software, Web pages, and time and expense tracking tools on the Jornada. I'm so accustomed to my increased business productivity with my Jornada 820 that I just had to get a Casio E100 Palm sized PC for a handy, pocket sized after-hours/weekender device. Now I have a choice of Windows
CE devices, complete with all my vital needed information, including Web and e-mail access and multimedia tools, within arm's reach all the time. They paid for themselves in a few months just from the increased business alone.
Everybody who sees these devices asks me where they can get one!

 | esc@2957et (0) 12/11/1999 | Mine died after three weeks of use.
What is really wrong is the use of Win CE (which should be called wince) - it is frustrating and maddening compared to PalmOS or the old Newton.
If you need something really small get a Palm, if it has to be bigger get a tiny laptop that doesn't have Win CE.
