Hendrick's sure has that COT dialed in pretty nice and Gordo looks to be back to his winning ways. Nice to have that divorce far back in the rear view mirror...

How can anyone in their right mind think Dale jr even comes close to being as great of driver as Jeff Gordon? Look at the stats, they do not lie.

Is it really true that Nascar fans doesn't like Gordon because he's a northerner from California? If that is true, that is prehistoric thinking. That is so silly I hope that isn't the reason. He seems to be a good guy, I would rate him higher if I actually liked the sport.

As I'm driving through the small town of Central Village, Connecticut this afternoon I catch a glimpse of a bumper sticker on a truck. It said "F.A.G." - the abbreviation for "Fans Against Gordon". Not that I condone that sort of language, but I did find it humorous.

He's been accepted outside Nascar by those who would not accept anyone with a country/southern accent.

I like to see him wreck. Does that make me a bad person? UPDATE: My opinion on Gordie may be softening a bit because he hasn't been whining as much lately (Jimmie Johnson has picked up the slack) but I'll still chuckle slightly if he misses the chase.

Jeff used to be a great driver back in his Busch days before the Hendricks sunk their teeth into him. Now, he is a bad Earnhardt, Sr clone with little talent and a lack of desire to PROVE ME WRONG!

Jeff Gordon is the best NASCAR has to offer currently.He has over 70 wins under his belt and is gaining momentum this year.

Great driver, great pr guy, not the typical neckcar rep. He wins, he's nice and girls luv'em. He's helped put the sport on the map.

JG gets one star from me because he is a good driver but I do not like him. He's self centered and way too confident of himself. Sure, the confidence has helped him win but I don't think he cares about his fans as much as Dale Jarrett does.

I hate his living guts, thats for sure. He's a good driver, so i cant give him a 1...but I hate his soul.

Jeff Gordon did come in to the sport on a silver spoon well so didnt Dale Jr his fathers the one who got him in to the sport. oh and Jeff Gordon started racing when he was 5 years old Dale Sr didnt oh and he was a high school drop out.won only 1 Daytona 500 and spent 20 years trying to do it give me a break. oh and Jeff Gordon won the Daytona 500 3 times 1997,1999, & 2005 and it wont be His last. He has 70 Cup Wins and just 7 more then he will have more than Dale Earnhardt. and Jeff Has A real girl friend not just a fan like Dale Jr has oh and i herd he had to ask another fan for her number b/c he was scared and shy.JEFF GORDON FAN 4 EVER!!!!! 70 wins. winning percentage as good as Richard Petty. Gordon's percentage of 70 wins in 402 starts is 17.4% Petty's winning percentage is 200 out of 1185 for 16.9%. Then consider that Petty got a lot of wins at 100 mile races with only 1 or 2 real contenders to beat. Jeff Gordon may be the greatest race car driver of all time. I'll put him up with AJ Foyt.

UPDATE-Even after a debacle in the pits (1st to 7th) Jeff will win his 5th CHAMPIONSHIP at Homestead...A Hendrick sweep for 1,2...Go Johnson for 2nd. Jeff Gordon is once again proving why he is the leading active driver for numbers of Championships won. There are a few key reasons for his continued success: Attitude, an Awesome TEAM with a huge budget, Intelligent and marketable, and the ability to never give up, ooops I almost forgot one thing TALENT!!! I would not have said these things a few years ago. Jeff has quit his whining, complaining, and blaming others (including his Team), and now accepts the failures with the successes (there are a lot of drivers who could take this to heart). Jeff will undoubtedly win his 5th Championship this season and will claim his 4th Fontana victory this Sunday at California Speedway. I am there right now and the only thing between Jeff and victory on Sunday are a few Evernham Dodges. Now an editorial on the BRAT; NASCAR's self proclaimed Golden Boy: Dale Jr. Junior is the most over-rated whining crybaby NASCAR has seen in years. It is impossible to watch a race and not hear the sorry a** announcers sing Jr.'s praises when he is winning or contending (not much of that lately, hee-hee) and when he is not running well listening to all the excuses for the spoiled brat-golden boy of NASCAR. If any driver gets within a car length of Jr. they need to give him space...Heaven forbid they should even give the brat the slightest nudge... :announcer that was uncalled for there is no place for that in racing. But let Jr. slam anybody, anytime, anywhere and that is good old fashioned racing, you need to be aggressive to be successful PLEASEEEEE!!! This is true when you have no real talent (with quite a huge financial backing, might I add). Jr. needs to watch a championship driver or TEAM (Jr.'s rule You can't spell team without ME) At least a real contender or champion listens and continues to learn from others (GORDON, J., Martin, Jarret, Labonte's...the sport has enough wannabe drivers Jr., Busch, Wallace, Biffle, Gaughn et al) Jr. and his team have sucked hard over the last eight weeks, yet all you hear is excuses; or Jr. wins a Busch race, (if you can't compete with the big boys go back and battle with the young boys) he doesn't feel well, he is.....Admit it people, without NASCAR's backing of the spoiled little brat he would be JIMMY SPENCER, at least Jimmy will fight his own battles, and truth be known he has never had a budget 1/20th of Jr.'s Jeff, Jimmy, or Tony will be this years champion and NASCAR will have to continue to change rules so they can give their little BITC* a chumpionship (I did not mispell that that is CHUMP not CHAMP) Gordon rules...and anyone or anything is better than JR. ATTENTION Jr. FANS, please ask the manager of your trailer park to read this to you...Oh yeah I posted this on the Internet, not on the bathroom wall of Tommy's Toothless Pub (that is a bar) so a true Jr. fan will never even see this posting!

I am not a big NASCAR fan but I think Jeff should get a percentage of the top because he has made the sport what it is today.

Jeff Gordon is a great driver. Yes, he whines at times, but it's hard not to get emotional after all your hard work is thrown out the window in an instant. It just shows how passionate he is about his career. Plus, he made his own name...he isn't riding on the coattails of anyone. Pure talent.

Jeff Gordon is not my favorite driver in NASCAR, but he is obviously one of the greatest ever, and there is absolutely no denying that to the haters. The record proves itself.

ok i've read throught the postings and to the ones who lie about jeff's off the track happenings have not read the book CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE NASCAR SOUL, because if you had you would know that not only is jeff a supreme nascar driver and third on the all time greatest list, he also has several charities, takes time for many of his fans ( i know several personally ), but he is also a very nice guy considering all the angry things that get said about him. You are only mad because he wins a lot so don't say anything about something you don't know. I understand rooting for the guys you love ( mine is jeff and dale jr.) but you don't have to judge and hate the one's you don't like.

Big Jerk! It's like nobody raced until he came along. He is definitely the pretty boy; although, since the divorce, NASCAR doesn't seem as high on his ass! Guess those rumors of his not being straight are a little too much even for them.

The poster boy for why commercialization of NASCAR is not the best thing in the world. He is a cocky pretty boy, who is the product of Evernham and Hendrick. He is nothing but dollar signs in the eyes of NASCAR execs.

He's one of the most prolific drivers out there and as of October 16 is only 16 victories shy of Dale Earnhardt's career victory count. But I only give him one star due to his marital misconduct, his failure of getting out to the fans, his lack of attending charital functions and poor public relations habits, and most of all his piss-poor attitude when his car goes behind the wall. He may visit victory lane quite frequently but he comes in 43rd place with his morals and overall character.

While he does have the stats of a great, he seems to be a pretty boy for NASCAR to praise constantly. Furthermore, he is a member of the All-Whiners team. The man has never been responsible for a wreck (if you don't believe me, just ask him), gets away with maneuvers that many other drivers would be penalized for, and has a car that his grandmother could drive to the championship. He's like the snide, rich kid that we all knew in high school. I prefer Roush Racing or any of the Dodge racing teams.

Does anybody have any cheese to go with all of his whining? I have no proof, but it seems that Nascar does whatever is best for that Dupont car. Put Michael Waltrip in that car and I would bet that he would be competing for the Winston Cup Championship.

This guy turned me on to NASCAR! I love Jeff Gordon! He can race at any track and win! He very seldom causes trouble for other drivers and is one of the nicest guys in the sport. I don't care what anyone else says, Jeff is the man! Thanks, Jeff, for not only being a wonderful role model for NASCAR, but for life as well!
