typical sprinter w/ a swagger. big difference was that he wasnt an american sprinter w/ a swagger. i think the sprint world needs that. ran a great anchor leg in the 4X100 relay in atlanta in 96.' even if carl woulda been on the US squad they still woulda lost to that canadian team. and while michael johnson has all the records (especially the 19.32 200m which i dont think will be broken anytime soon)and medals...donovan was the better man THAT day in the 150m race of the century.

He had AMAZING top end speed but terrible starts. If he had a good start in Atlanta he'd still be holding the world record. Its too bad that he injured his achilles tendon, because with his absence nobody was able to challange Maurice Greene who has dominated the 100m dash for 5 years. The new kid in town (Tim Montgomery 9.78, 9.84, 9.85) has broke Greene's record and is simular to Donovan in technique - horrible starters, AWESOME finishers. I would have gave Donovan Bailey 5 stars but he was just too inconsistant. After his 9.84 world record his fastest time was 9.91 loosing out to (drum roll) Maurice Greene who ran 9.86 at the 1997 World Championships

Donovan Bailey the Canadian is very fast. He was the record holder before Maurice Green. Anyone that has speed like Donovan Bailey is considered one of the fastest human beings.

Went from the fastest 100 meters runner to slowest in the world. He needs to train harder.
