I love Nadia Comaneci!! however, I think that what Mailoon has written here is full of bull. She has no idea whatsoever about Nadia Comaneci and the gymnastics history that Nadia has made. She pretends to though because Mailoony is a faker and poseur only, not a real Nadia Comaneci fan.

One of the best athlete of all time. Her legacy is still there and no one can't touch it.

Nadia attempted skills that were unheard of in her time and she did them like it were a walk in the park for her. She had a downslope in her career in 1978 but regained form in tremendous fashion in 1979 and 1980. She left an ever-lasting mark on gymnastics and since then I've always enjoyed listening to her commentary.

Perfection. She raised the difficulty level in gymnastics tremendously and yet was so reliable in executing these tricks.

The Organizer of the 1976 Montreal Olympics gave Nadia the Tourch of The Opening Ceremony! To them without Nadia, there is no success of Montreal Olympics. That is a record! Does anyone know other athletes from other countries was presented with this highest honour of by the host of an Olympics? What made Nadia the greatest was not just the achievement in the Olympics, but the life that she has been through and presently has is an illustration of the most unique sports living legend! She is the best role model for everyone to learn and to be inspired!

Grade inflation. It plagues our schools. It plagued the 76 Olympics. Nadia was very good. Was she perfect. I don't think so. Perfect means she did the most difficult routines, and did them perfectly. No bobbles, no flaws. She wasn't wuite there. I would have given her 5 stars, but I can't because there have been more succesful women Olympic gymnasts. I would give Vera Caslavska 5 stars, but RIA doesn't have her. Look her up in the history books. She got all the golds.

I admire Nadia because she has shown us the sense of the human spirit: liberty and creativity.

No doubt, the most amazing female athletic figure. Her legendary permormance is still remembered as one of the best in the history of the Olimpic Games.

Nadia Comaneci is still one of the greatest icons of the Olimpic Games, and perhaps the most memorable sportwoman ever.

I have always admired Nadia because she's been a model to many kids and young people. I did not have the experience of watching her in 1976 (I am 16), but I've seen a lot of videos on tv, interviews, and have read magazines and books about her. She is unique among many athletes.

I remember the first time I watched Nadia Comaneci on TV in 1976. Being a 14 year-old boy, I was captivated by her performances and personality. Every four years, I am anxious to see an athlete that performs the same, or even better, spectacular feats in his/her sports that Nadia did. Since then, many of them have appeared. Few of them have won more medals than Nadia (Vitaly Scherbo, Carl Lewis). But no one has had the power, perfection, grace, charisma, charm, and mystery that Nadia still has. It is important to recognize the influence that Nadia had to catch the attention of the spectators and media again after the awful events occured at Munich in 1972, and the prior boycott of some African countries. Nadia became the symbol of the new hope of the Olympics. After Montreal, in every Olimpic Games, many people expect to see a new Nadia. Unfortunately, this has not happened yet.

There have been a lot of successful athletes in the history of Olimpic Games: Owens, Lewis, Spitz, Griffith-Joyner, Johnson, Thorpe, Scherbo, etc. But there is only one star that still shines over the years: Nadia Comaneci. No one had so much impact at the Olimpics until Nadia brought her art through gymnastics. Six Oimpics Games have passed already and another star hasn´t been born yet.

I like Nadia Comaneci because she was so clean and smooth. It seems like she had to overcome a lot when Bela left her and then when she got older she had eating disorders. I wonder if any young, successful athletes are able to cope with the pressures of success and failure on a world scale and not emerge with big psychological problems to overcome.

The original Bela Keroyli pupil. She was perfection in gymnastics. This Romanian powerhouse could do it all. This gymnast is often emulated, but never duplicated.

In 1976 Nadia Comaneci brought a new hope and interest to the Olimpics Games. Although a year before she won the recognition in the European Gymnastics Championships, she certainly won the hearts of millions (even those who didn`t like gymnastics)at Montreal. And what it is more important, without a prior publicity, the mass media searched her and her art during and after her performances. Today this not happens.
