This is probably more important with more expensive purchases I suppose. But, like insurance, you don’t really think about it until you need it and then you’re lucky if you remember where you stashed the paperwork. Off hand though, the existence of a warranty or even the type of warranty has never influenced my online purchasing. That could be partially due to the fact that most of my online shopping involves things like books. If there are problems with those (and there never has been) of course I would I deal directly with Amazon.
