The Williams Sisters changed the face of Women Tennis...
screwbini 03/12/2006
Gorgeous women, with a beautiful smile, a strong, athletic body, and a butt to die for. Top of the list for me (along with Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez)
gamerman 02/06/2006
I am surprised that her rating is so high. Personally, I think that she thinks more about fashion than she does about tennis. She insulted the french, then she cried when they booed her. I love a woman with big breast, large thighs, and a big butt, however not so much with Serena. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but she reminds me of a drag queen. Her thighs and arms look too muscular and her face looks very manly to me. I don't want a girl that looks like she could "break me" in two. Meh

Stunning!!
vivaldi88 04/08/2005
Serena has a powerful serve, powerful technique, speed, and everything...WHEN SHE's CONCENTRATING/FIT ON HER GAME. Serena is so interested into many things such as acting and fashion that it's very hard to commit 100% to her game. She has retired 3 times ALREADY for 2005, where not even halfway through the year!. She should really manage her time better if she wants to defend her I am number one, I love me, I love everything about me etc... It's quite difficult to argue with these statements when she wins a huge tournament like the '05 Australian open. Her clothing on court can get distracting to some people. If she wants to boast about herself and stuff, she needs to prove it ALL THE TIME. Serena, you can't just retire a match and then tell everyone that you're the best. You shouldn't be telling everyone this if you're not sure you're going to survive these tournaments. Get your game back! Wake-up! You're my favorite, I love you!
Karissa21 04/07/2005
shes awesome! This girl can kick butt!
fxan 02/22/2005
difficult to judge. she has all what a real great player needs. she dominated a period of time. she brought a new level to womens tennis. but watching her of a longer period she just has to prove that she is consitantly on that high level. would be nice to see her competing with hardenne, both at their best. she can defeat everyone who actually is playing. so she gets all points.
shonuffcute 01/04/2005
The Serena Slam, enuff said!
gibbs 11/18/2004
Greatest athlete, sportswoman of our time, she is the most recognized female sports figure in the world, theres a reason because shes so damn good
rezchick 11/16/2004
Best there was and ever will be, you can only truly experience her awesome power until you see her play live, watching her serve, im amazed that these woman can get a serve back like that
Alkycanuck 11/16/2004
Greatest female tennis player ever. Those who think of her as cocky and obnoxious, youve got it confused with confidence and self believe, i had the pleasure of meeting her at the rogers at&t cup in montreal, asked for an autograph and she said anything for a fan
fluffytuffy 09/13/2004
I will say she is a good player, but frankly, every time I see her, whether on the courts in in a magazine photo, I can only think she looks like a guy who had a sex change operation! Not a feminine bone in her body, not a feminine face! She looks like a guy in drag. I heard sportscasters joking during the Olympics about Eastern Europe women being built like 'guys' maybe they should admit the same about Serena! Yikes!
ReallyDrummer 09/02/2004
Serena is physically the most dominating female tennis player of all time. Her strength can't be matched. Mentally, she is not all together. She lets her stress affect her play and she has her thoughts in too many different directions outside of tennis. If she could get her mental act together completely, there shouldn't be anyone in the world that she couldn't beat. I personally think she is arrogant and expects to win just because of who she is. If she doesn't work on her thought processes, she will continue to decline as she has in 2004 -- she may never see the top 10 again.
AETim 07/26/2004
When she first emerged onto the tennis scene she was overshadowed by her sister, Venus. Now, four years later, you can only ask: Venus who? Serena is the real deal in tennis, and she is probably the most talented player in the world today (even with her loss to Sharapova at the Wimbledon final). Until someone comes along (Sharapova might be the only one with ability) who can knock her off her game, say hello to the 2004 Olympic Champion. Way to go Serena, and what a great role model for tennis players in the USA and the world.
jakeev 07/16/2004
I'm gonna simply say this. When Serena gets her head together, she is going to be a major force to be reckoned with again. Remember now, she has no points to defend until the Erickson March of 2005. Anyone not want to bet that if she stays healthy she will return to the number one spot?
flyguydsl 07/13/2004
WELL SHE IS THE REAL DEAL. But don't get so damned cocky. Would love to see her dethroned. However, she is truly amazing to watch.
Bird808 07/03/2004
In the four years that I've watched Sarena her attitude towards the game and her players has matured considerably. Sarena plays better in Semi-Final games, (Mauresmo 2004 Wimbledon, Hingis Australia 2001, Capriati 2003 Wimbledon) theres more hunger from her side to succeed and she always feels she has more to proove. I think when she gets to the finals thats when she calms down a lot more and seems more grateful for getting that far. For me she is a true champion whose worked hard and has learnt to accept defeat and knows that she can always pick herself up, try again and maybe even win. That outlook is worth more than any trophy.
jamestkirk 05/17/2004
The most dominating, currently. She is, however, bound and determined to have the world see her physical features based on her style of dress.
handy 03/28/2004
Serena is a great tennis player--one of the best ever. She is very talented and very beautiful. She is as beautiful as Anna Kournikova. But what I like best about Serena is that she has a sweet, lovely smile. She's also the best female tennis player in the world.
Zoe Blime 02/01/2004
This girl is good. That's all I can say.
The Real Truth 11/14/2003
Brings intelligence to a sport that needed it. The most talented female tennis player of all time. Also the most beautiful...explosively attractive...makes Anna Kournikova look like a little boy. The Mother of the Earth!!!
BugahaNE 08/09/2003
I love Serena !!! I am so tired of people putting her and Venus down because they win all the tournaments etc. Hey, they deserve to be where they are. They practiced and worked hard since they were around 5 years old. How many of us have that determination? And as far as saying they have attitude, Serena is awesome in interviews, I look forward to listening to her. She's charming, intelligent and funny.
armchair jock 06/23/2003
If one does not count Monica "Yell"es Serena Williams is thee most obnoxious woman in tennis today. And please - all you bleeding heart liberals out there - don't insult me with I am being racist or some other "gross" remarks. If Williams was purple, she would still be thee most obnoxious woman in tennis today.
mankind 06/09/2003
Serena is an absolute goddess on the court and the French should be ashamed of themselves. I think the Williams' sisters should both boycott the "Freedom" open in 2004
AEnzhRu 05/28/2003
I've followed tennis since the mid '80s and thus have seen the likes of Martina Navritalova, Chris Evert Lloyd, Aranxa Sanchez Vicario, Gabriela Sabatini, Monica Seles, and Steffi Graff. They were all top-notch in their era -during their careers. The Williams sisters are proof that athletes evolve from decade to decade. Serena and her sister both have ridiculously-incredible games. They hit the ball as hard as some men with incredible accuracy, they can both hit laser beams running the opposite direction, cross court from 20 feet beyond the baseline with more angle than you might think possible (hence, their groundstrokes are "wicked-sick") their serves are very powerful and even their volley games rival those of ANY past women tennis players I've ever seen. In a synopsis, even early in their careers, both Williams sisters are ALREADY the two best female tennis players I've ever seen. Steffi Graf comes close but I still give the Williams the advantage. Graff's forte was her forehand. EVERY ASPECT of the game is the Williams sisters' forte. Their backhand strokes are just as good as their forehands. And to think that both are black. Blacks are nonexistent on the men's tour and up until recently were also on the women's. Holy Joseph Smith!

I think Serena Williams is the best tennis player in the 20th Century. She has such a powerful swing.

star80 02/03/2003
lots of talent but like her sister bad sport thinks she is above the game
Rahkblue 11/27/2002
Serena is on her way to be the best in the world. She has won every grand slam she entered this year. Top That anyone!
ClassicMusicLo ver 09/02/2002
The only time I have ever seen her lose was to her sister.
scooter329 08/27/2002
I don't care about her color or her appearance. Her game speaks for itself.
yojimborules 08/11/2002
I think she's hot. I never saw the big deal about Kournakova. Maybe it's cause I'm not a white guy.
ravfourme 07/03/2002
Lose the racial chip that sits on your shoulder.
LoneUSFullHous eFan 06/27/2002
Like Venus Williams, does she ever lose? I am a little surprised not to see them both at the top of the list.
hidurability 04/24/2002
She has a wonderful attitude and can beat anyone when she puts her mind to it. She obviously has a great love for the game and will go down in history as one of the best players of all time.
sforest11 07/08/2001
Serena brings an excitement to the game that few in tennis garner. She has the ability to win any tournament she enters. Her biggest opponent seems to be herself. I have rarely seen her truly defeated by her opponent. As she grows older she will get better and mentally stronger. She has many championships in her future.

Serena is a GREAT tennis player. The comments the user Hillary left were way off key. She suggests that Serena lacks skill, and when speaking of both Serena and Venus, she suggests "The two have all but marginalized the sanctity of the game." -- WHAT SANCTITY. The only skill Serena is lacking is the skill to change her hair, skin and fashion to one that is more acceoted by the majority, and people like the member hillary. Serena's tennis is great and their enthusiasm is raw and untarnished by the supposed public relations polishing, and for this she is subjected to criticism from those with welled up anger and/or fear about what her strength and people of color will do to women's tennis. I do not ever remember reading such negative press about John McEnroe, who literally threw temper-tantrums on tennis courts across the world, while representing the U.S. Martina also was not so nice and cordial when Chris Evert was whipping her around the court, where were her high ideals for sportsmanship then? Alot of people (Hillary included) do not appreciate that there are cultural differences within the U.S. and yes, between different races and socio-economic backgrounds. We seem to forget those differences when we look for scant pieces of evidence to form negative opinions about others. We never stop to consider the fact that we may have misinterpreted some things. Lastly, I want to address the member hillary's closing statement, "Please, Williams sisters, grow up, really learn how to play the game, and you will not have to return to the ghetto when in doubt" Well Hillary-first of all in our (Black American) culture, returning home is a source of strength and homage paying, not a result of self doubt. Next, there are not a lot of ghettos (as you say) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-which by the way is where they live. Another note, with the various multi-million endorsements both Williams sisters have inked, should they choose to - they can go to the ghetto... or wherever else they want to go! Lastly, the only game the Williams sisters don't play well is the "media snowjob" game, and after reading your comments, I understand why. People like you will always be there to try to cast a negative pall over other's successes - so why fight it. Serena, keep on keeping on, and stay true to yourself!
Chatty 07/03/2001
Serena never gives credit to her opponent, especially if she loses. She always blames it on "not feeling well", didn't want to play my sister, injuries, etc. She uses gamesmanship instead of her racket to try and win. Definitely a choker.
Kournikovaisho tt 04/03/2001
Ok she is a great tennis player but how can she be no6 she plays ten tourements a year.Comeon either tennis or fasion
cyndelgar 03/19/2001
Serena's performance during the finals of the Indian Wells tennis tournament was absolutely brilliant. Despite an undeserved hostile reception from some attendees in the stands, she showed them all what a professional athlete does-rise above the angry and unjust slander of her detractors and play an excellent game. Yes she and her family are misunderstood at times but that's true of anyone who belongs to the human race. The only difference between us is she gets to display her exceptional abilities on the world stage where the critics can freely vocalize their misconceptions and influence those who choose to listen in ignorance.
Yo-rio 03/17/2001
You Go GIRL!!! Tough as Nails. I am 10 years to her age and I don't know if I would have been able to pull through a match like Indian Wells. It was truly a more mental match than physical. She has definetly moved into my number 1 spot. Now she is ready to become number 1.
BIGGDOGG 03/05/2001
I think Serena is a great player. She has a lot of power. She got some VERY HUGE TITS and A BIG ASS!!!
big tam 03/05/2001
I really enjoy watching her play tennis. She gives inspiration to blacks and to all the little sisters that want to be better than there big sisters.

lilbalink SEREENA IS ALSO ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYER WHO IS NOW ON THE COURT. SHE PROBALY CAN NOT BEAT MARTINA NOW BUT ONE DAY SHE WILL AND MARTINA WILL NEVER COME BACK.
kewku 02/19/2001
Just as African-Americans suffered verbal abuse when entering Pro Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Boxing, so the Williams Sisters are getting verbal abuse from White Female commentators (who by way were lousy tennis players and are lousy commentators) and from a minority of white fans who hate and fear the African athelete. Check the number of tournaments the sisters play (its half what the field plays) and note their rankings and fear and respect the other players give them and it is obvious to all but the most closed mind that they are changing the game of tennis for the better. I say for the better because the game has a lot more hustle now as every player works harder for every point and also works harder to be fit (Monica Seles being the one exception). Serena may well dominate the game, if and only if she learns to keep her composure in big game point/match point situations.
chew 02/10/2001
Williams sisters - the best.
hillary 02/07/2001
Serena and her sister have added the most undesirable elements to the game: poor sportsmaship and an inappropriate appearance. Combined with questionable skill (no, physical power is not tantamount to skill). The two have all but marginalized the sanctity of the game, while riding the wave of distorted popularity. How sad that they are considered role models. Apparently only I noticed that, upon recognizing the superior skills of both Lindsay Davenport and Martina Navritalova, the Williams sisters engaged in some sort of ghetto street fighting tactic by placing the ball directly toward Navritalova's body during a doubles tournament. Tennis is, thankfully, not footbal, and a doubles game does not involve sacking a quarterback. Furthermore, such supposedly great players as the Williams should have by now mastered the art of placement (e.g. there was no mistaking the sisters' intentions). Please introduce these marginal talents to the competitive realm of juniors' tournaments, where they might learn humility, respect, the art of competition, and real sportsmanship (e.g. how to play the sport, not the public relations game). Please, Williams sisters, grow up, really learn how to play the game, and you will not have to return to the ghetto when in doubt.
