 | mjhmurphy (0) 01/18/2008 | Savage was a great personality. Inside the ring, he could have great matches if the right person was carrying him.

 | lightfinger2000 (2) 12/09/2006 | I like that he could wrestle the open style he did,he also had a likable gimmick(never really thought him as macho though).good skills I rate him a 3.75 but he would have been midcard material if not the need to push him against Hogan for lack of talent in the w.w.f. back then. His feud with Steamboat was memorable although Steamboat carried the matches.

 | daedalus (33) 01/30/2006 | I can look back on my WWF fan years and laugh now and this man is a large reason for it.
Savage was the very personification of intensity. I loved the way he would answer questions from interviewers. Always in third person, always wearing those first generation Oakley sunglasses and bandana, always with "the lovely Elizabeth" on his arm and always about one yell away from having a heart attack on television.
He began every interview with, "Randy 'Macho Man' Savage, yeah"!

 | hotel283 (20) 12/15/2005 | A legend for sure. More for the words than the wrestling but he was one of the titans of the Hogan era. Without question, when teamed with Big Boss Man in the first Wrestlemania video game (the arcade one, not home system)was the ultimate threat. The best was that wicked flying clothesline he could give when the opponent was nearly done, it even worked on Andre!! Tag off to the Boss Man, side slam by the ropes, big splash and the pin, have Savage deliver devastating flying knee to opponents partner as they try to rush in and break up the pin. Unsurpassed wrestling/video game fusion.

 | Amaso Kid (0) 05/16/2005 | To me, Savage is a legend who's overly worked character overshadowed his wrestling work. He would have been better appreciated if there was less fanfare thrown onto his character and instead was given more 'clean' matches to showcase his wrestling talent. Young wrestling fans would think he's this funny talking clown with a husky voice going 'oohs' and 'aahs', you have to watch his early day matches to really appreciated how good Randy Savage really is.

Savage was a great flamboyant personality but his style was way to choreographed and less spontaneous.

 | Savage Fan (0) 09/24/2004 | The Man..Short changed by always having to job for Hogan. Guts, he wrestled injured more than any wrestler. A true tough guy, with charisma and flair. Great matches with Warrior, Steamboat, Hogan, Flair, Jake Roberts, Dibiase and more. WCW wasn't really a mistake for him, due to the fact that the WWF at the time was more into gimmicks Duke the Dumpster Drosey, Repo Man and Doink the clown to name a few. Had a tired storyline however in WCW with the Liz/Flair thing. I agree he fought by himself alot. Not only a member of the NWO, but also a member of probably the baddest crew ever..The Wolfpack..Again, never got a chance to see him work within the group due to idiot storylines. Savage was always usedfor the moment than played out!..He lost to Roddy Piper even!

 | Pelo (0) 09/16/2004 | An absolute legend... The interveiws especially... check out the one just prior to Jake the Snake match where he breaks down his flying elbow process for champagne value...cos when I get up on that turnbuckle yeah... and point to the sky! Absolute classic... Thanks for the smile Macho

 | JWCougar (0) 08/08/2004 | The Macho Man always provoked an intense reaction. His mic skills were the best. You have to admire a man that is willing to burst a blood vessel just to talk to you. The costumes were great. Today, everybody wears the same boring garb. I cringe when I see Shawn the yawn Michaels attempt to steal Randy's awesome elbowdrop on Raw. Savage has done it all. Well. Macho is mad cool even today.

 | lemood (0) 07/02/2004 | Where do i begin he made great matches.Always energetic, i feel he doesnt get the credit he deserves. His
feud with Jake the snake should go down in history as the most heated feud ever. Wrestling nowadays lack good main eventers Savage was one of then. His WCW run was not as great as WWF but still you cant mention the greatest without putting Macho Man in the mix.Him and Miss Liz are icons and the ring success was best when they were together.

 | DiamondDavid (0) 05/20/2004 | Definitely one of the best workers and personalities to step in a WWF ring. Savage and Steamboat wrestled what was generally considered the greatest WWF match at the time at Wrestlemania 3. Savage became so popular that Vince had to turn him face, and he eventually defeated Dibiase at Wrestlemania 4 for the world title. Formed the MegaPowers with Hogan, but of course, Savage was jealous of Hogan's relationship with Liz and the partnership was disbanded. Soon lost the title to Hogan and feuded with him throughout 1989 in a hot feud. Savage carried Warrior to Warrior's greatest match at Wrestlemania 7 in a retirement match. Savage later unretired and defeated Flair for the title in a memorable angle where Flair claimed he dated Liz before Savage. Jumped to WCW and feuded again with Flair and Hogan. I must dock a point from Savage's score because of his pathetic 1999 run in WCW. In his late 40s, he used hair implants, bulked up via steroids, and was accompanied by women young enough to be his daughters. It was an obvious mid-life crisis, tarnishing Savage's legacy IMO.

 | dmcd (0) 02/12/2004 | Good interview and decent skills but nothing special. His later years in wrestling were a joke.

 | Str8Shooter (0) 02/06/2004 | The constant heel/face flip-flopping in his later years and his irrational behavior outside of wrestling may have hurt his legacy. Arguably the most charismatic personality ever and one of the best in-ring workers that ever lived.

 | ty901c (0) 10/23/2003 | Randy was alright...his character was great, but he is not a solid person. The way that he treated the WWF when it was declining was bush and his treatment of MISS E was poor. OK wrestler...OK gimmick...just OK

 | laughforest (0) 09/10/2003 | Great voice. It's true he took on too many heel/face turns. I always liked him best as a heel, for some reason. And I liked when he wore red briefs with strategically placed stars as opposed to all his fringewear, which really just dragged him down.

 | alexanderbermudez (0) 03/09/2003 | Macho Man Randy Savage is the most powerfull and awesome legend in the world of wrestling. His feuds with mega players like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair or The Ultimate Warrior and his hight flies from the top of the ring and his skils, valet and gimmick depart to him an especial monumentum in own memories. Thaks for the memories, Macho, and comeback soom.

His only drawback is that he over prices himself, which is why we haven't seen much of him as of late"... a stolen quote the matcho man is a very skilled wrestler that needs to come bac and wrestle some top name oponents not a one man gang or honky garbage man .....WWE needs the real high flyer back and get rid of shawn the gay boy going bald

 | nukewidow (0) 12/13/2002 | Great performer, performing high in the sky tactics. Though I must say, he and his persona are one in the same...I met him early in his career, when his father had a wrestling organization and wrestled with his brother Leaping Lanny Pofo. Very controversial, but, gives one hell of a show....

 | Tru2DaGame (0) 10/23/2002 | He was one of the wrestlers in the 80's who stole the show from the main event. I agree, with too many heel/face changes hurting his legacy a bit, but i guess thats what was part of the "macho man's" gimmick, you never knew what to expect from him except for a great match!

 | Texx (0) 11/23/2001 | Savage vs. Steamboat at Wrestlemania III is a universal pick in the locker rooms as one of the best matches in history. During WM5 he outworked Hogan to the point Hulk grasped his feet and begs him to slow down. That wasn't suppose to happen folks (if you hate Hogan watch that match for a belly laugh). His work in Smokey Mountain Wrestling was ***** all the way and unfortunately wasn't seen by many. The down side to Savage is that he forced more than one promoter to hire his less talented brother (Leapin' Lanny Poffo/The Genius) and became an unstable factor in the dressing room. Too many heel/face turns without a story to support them hurt his legacy but those years in his prime were awe inspiring.
