Put on better matches when he was younger before he hit the whole crow stage. Always had good mic skills and used a variety of moves. As he has gotten older he his move list has shrunk and hurt his ability to wrestle longer matches. He always stuck things out in nwa/wcw for his own reasons. Would a WWE help run help him? Well it certainly couldn't hurt him but at this point in his career I'm not sure what it would really do. WWE has always wanted to sign him but he has never cared for their working schedule. I think that Sting will go down as a top 50 wrestlers, maybe top 25 but no higher than that unless it is someone's personal list. For me I always loved Sting and appreciate his loyalty to wcw even when it was a sinking ship and everyone knew it.

was the face of good and hope in the nwa/wcw for too many years to be low on any wrestling list

wish he had a chance to go to w.w.e. to show those clowns how to wrestle, like Ric Flair did 15 years ago and win the belt.Sting showed how to play a good babyface.I like that he used submission moves as well as impact moves very rare can performers do that well.

One of the Greatest Wrestlers of All Time, From Stings early days with Jim "Ultimate Warrior" Hellwig, Steve was an all around fan favorite, again like Warior he struck the crowd's imagination and attention with vivid colors and impressive power moves, he was a well balanced wrestler between power and submission moves, Very Intense with the later days very dramatic i saw that in another view, Very True, Personally i liked the classic sting with bright colors and flashy entrances, he was great, who can forget the Stinger Splash, Or the Deathdrop.. i remember giving the Scorpion Deathlock on my brother as kids, he was highly influential and an icon to the wrestling world, Too Bad WWE is the filth that it is today because if not for the Carnal behavior the Stinger could have appeared again, Im actually happy for him that he found god, But ill never forget his times and his 'bouts in the ring as the Stinger!

People say that heels are always more appealing than faces. Maybe so, but I defy anyone to remember Sting (long before the Crow shtick) , hair a spiky bleach blond, neon face paint etc., and not get charged about him. He could have written a book on how to be a successful face, key thing being people don't want to see a popular face endangered or hurt with the irony being a face needs to live in that house all the time. With the Crow bit he was untouchable (the bat helped) but that saps a faces appeal. As beach boy Sting I saw Sid Vicious powerbomb him onto a steel chair and saw Flair put the figure four on him three or four times in one match and still he got up, and still he fought and the crowd lapped it up. That match when he won the NWA title from Flair for the first time ever so long ago was a true classic but will sadly be forgotten behind todays storm of random title changes.

Sting's strongest asset was his charisma. Kids loved him. As a worker, he wasn't the greatest, but he did have natural athletic ablility and could be carried to a great match. Flair really had an impact on his career. His first match with Flair (Clash '88 or '89, can't remember) was a 45 minute classic that led to a hot feud with Sting eventually winning the world title. He later had that feud with Hogan at the height of the NWO, but upon its conclusion, Sting was going through the motions during the dark years of WCW of '98-'01. Would like to see him in the WWE for a final run.

Too cold and remote. Never cracked an expression. I feel the same when I watch him. No reaction.

Sting is by far THE MOST OVER RATED WRESTLER OF ALL TIME. Come on, he spent 2 years on the shelf for every 2 hours he spent in the ring. There was a reason his popularity soared while he was injured & not performing in the ring... HE SUCKS. Nothing against the guy personally, but I think he justifies the argument that WCW fans had no clue what talent was. OOOOOWWWWWW!!

Great athlete, capable in his prime for doing many high flying moves despite being fairly muscular in size (over 260 lbs). Lacked creativity for carrying longer matches, probably why he struggled in longer bouts except against arch rival Ric Flair who was known for carrying opponents in entertaining long matches. Great fan favorite character who dominated WCW in the 1990's. Never achieved the success Flair had as the company's main attraction before him but did very well over his career. Interviews generally OK, not good at longer, more serious stuff but very dramatic.

He was just not a compelling personality. I found Captain Lou Albano more interesting, even Gordon Soley. He's at the 2-star level with Tugboat.

I miss him, as of late I read in a newspaper, that he has accepted Christ as his Savior and now is a christian. Awesome!!! I really enjoyed his uppidity spirit and his performances. I liked him better when he did the blond haired sting. After he did the Crowish thing, it was good in the beginning but, after that it got alittle too much...I am glad for his most recent success!!!!

He was the heart and soul of WCW. You have to admire his loyalty to his company. Would have been a bigger star in WWF/E. Left the sport before he was washed up. In the last few years at WCW, he didn't seem to have the same enthusiasm as he did in the late eighties and early nineties. Now works with Nikita Koloff and Ted Dibiase in church-related minisrty. Sting will always be a legend!

Up there with the likes of Bret Hart. Sting could wrestle with the best of them.

Liked the old Sting. The blond one with the fluorescent clothes. The newer one was a dork. Didn't even talk. Now, what's up with a wrestler who doesn't talk. The Scorpion was a pretty cool finishing move.

Amazing before the knees went. He was able to become the most over man in wrestling in '97 without wrestling a single match or even saying a single word. That's charisma folks. However Sting is stupid. No other wrestler in history has been suckered into more tag matches only to have his partner turn on him. Flair did it at least four times. His heel turn was the most botched angle in history.

a great asset to any company, but what's with the crow thing? Sting is an awsome wrestler who does not need a gimmick from a movie, despite how good the movie was.
