 | southparker9 (0) 12/10/2006 | Great family of wrestlers. Their legacy is marred by tragedy. Suicides, and poor decisions have forever left a mark on this once acclaimed wrestling dynasty.

 | lightfinger2000 (2) 12/09/2006 | ashame they are rated together.I give a 4 to kevin,3 to kerry and david(would be 4 if not for their drug use)the others are a 2 except for Fritz I rate a 1 for obviously laking any parental skills to have such talented sons and not train them to use their bodies instead of abuse them. The brothers had potential to be superstars of legend but only their failures give any backdrop to their story.

Fritz was a great heel wo eventually settled in Texas and became a beloved babyface. David Von Erich was clearly the best and there were legitimate discussions about him holding the World title before his tragic passing.
Mike Von Erich was adequate but did'nt have the Superstar appeal hisother brothers did.
ditto for Kevin. However Kevin is the lone survivor and is indeed a nice guy.
Kerry had a great physique and personality. Had it not been for his well documented substance abuse issues he may have went further. If Hogan would not have signed in late 83 Kerry was Mcmahon's backup plan.

 | James76255 (26) 02/27/2005 | I don't know of many families, if any, that have had to deal with the tragedy they dealt with over a ten year or so span. Even Fritz's first son, Jack Jr., was killed when he was young. There was also Chris, the youngest, who did not have a very long career but met just as tragic an end to life. I was fortunate enough to meet Kevin and Kerry. I have to say Kerry was pretty stand-offish, but Kevin, the only one still living at this point, was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.

 | TomStewart (0) 01/18/2003 | It's a sad, sad story. A born-again Christian family where 4/5 boys commited suicide---a real slap in the face to God. Thankfully, the eldest, and sexiest, Kevin, is still alive.
Kevin and Kerry were/are incredebly sexy. Kerry had a great set of cans and guns. Kevin, had that "Je ne sais pas" quality where the whole was far greater than the sum of the parts.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 11/27/2002 | We grew up in North Texas, and every Saturday night we would be in front of the t.v. to watch the Von Erichs. They actually came to our little town and wrestled in our high school gymnasium. This was before any of them had died. I even got Kevin's autograph, but I have since lost it. Dang it.

 | Texx (0) 11/24/2001 | Tough to rate as a family. Kerry was marvelous whereas David bit the big one. Their fued with the Freebirds was astonishing for its intensity and casual fans who started watching wrestling in recent years should definitely check it out. There story is one of great tragedy and would make one heck of a tear jerking movie. Read the FAQ at thesmarks.com for their outcome if you don't know the backstory.

 | Munson (8) 11/28/1999 | The first family of wrestling has seen far more than its share of tragedy.
