Sidney Crosby is amazing - if they can find a little more depth of skill and leadership (other than Mario) and can bring SC along at the right pace, they will be in the playoffs for years to come.

Nice to see Wilkes-Barre admitted into the NHL .... well, at least the TALENT from Wwilkes-Barre has. Hope the Kid has broad shoulders and doesn't have +/- in his contract ... lol ....

The Penguins are a great organization. They have played a fun style of offensive hockey most of the time I have been following them. Now they are turning into a tough hard-working team that the city can appreciate. They have a lot of young talent and are going to be a great team in a few years. Lemieux is the greatest athlete to have ever played in Pittsburgh. Hopefully the owners can agree to a good deal with the players to fix the competitive system. The NHL needs to go the way of the NFL and not MLB. (Baseball - BLAH!)

I'm from Pittsburgh, too. I love my hometown teams, and just because I live in NJ now doesn't mean that I will switch to the Flyers. Mario Lemieux is my forever favorite player. LoneUS asks why Jagr left; one reason: money. Unfortunately, the city of Pittsburgh is not wealthy, as New York is. (Maybe that explains why the Rangers' roster looks like an All-Star team?) Thanks to Mario, the team is still in Pittsburgh and is in the rebuilding stage. I am thankful to him for this, & it just so happens that I started watching hockey the year that the Pens won their first Stanley Cup in 90-91. I can look back over the years and see the absence of many players who played for the Penguins. Some retired, some moved on to bigger bucks. Because of this factor, a lot of the less-wealthy teams cannot afford to have such high-priced players on their payroll. Just recently I saw Marty Straka who I loved go to the LA Kings. I was very disappointed but that's the way it is. Some want to leave on their own accord; some don't want to leave but are cut or traded to save money. I wear my Pittsburgh apparel proudly and always will. The Pittsburgh Penguins have given me much to smile about, and I will never stop cheering for them. Sure, I wish Jagr, Straka, Kovalev, Stevens, Recchi and the rest were still here, but that was then, this is now. Go Pens!

Gotta love the Pens! You asked why we traded Jager LoneUS? What did he do in Washington? Granted, they made the play-offs, but with the line-up that had, I'd hope they'd have at least made it that far. Pittsburgh is in it's "rebuilding" years, let's just hope those "rebuilding" years don't last as long as they have for the Bucs! Yikes! Seriously though, the pens need a new stadium to stay competitive in today's league. The city gave one to the Bucs and Steelers, now it's the Pen's turn!

I am from Pennsylvania, making me a fan. But even I can admit that they are not the Penguins that they used to be. Mario Lemoux has serious problems, plus he is older now. Not what he used to be. And why did they trade Jagr? He was their best player. I am more of a Flyers fan anyway.
