Been a Leaf fan since 1940. I can't understand why Toronto fans continue to support such a tragic excuse for a professional hockey team. As long as fans continue to fill the ACC, the Leafs are viewed as a success. Lets face it fans, as long as you keep paying the $$$'s nothing will change. Just want to start off by saying, I'm a Leafs fan. I still think that the team needs an overhaulling, starting with the coach. Just because you've coached team Canada, doesn't make you a Stanley Cup contender. Look at Wayne Gretzky, he coached Canada prior to having NHL experience in coaching. Plus, a lot of the blunders that happen, are coaching mistakes for one. Why play guys making top dollar and guys making min. the same ice time? That's Coaching/GM issues, meaning someone's not pulling their weight for the money, especially with the cap rules. For the talent, the lines combos aren't working like they should, and it seems that once it does, they're changed to 'even out' the other lines. I think the Leafs need a new face, starting with the guy behind the bench. Look at all the talent that was traded away for a run at the cup that obviously never happened. Another thing I didn't understand was why give players raises to sign them just prior to the cap, when you need all the cap room you can get. Get a new Coach/GM that does something that's good for the team NOW and for years to come. I'm tired of seeing these fly by night guys come in for the playoffs, that don't gel with the team, and then leave the next season. I want to be able to buy a jersey and know that the name will be around for a while.

As a leafs fan, it's impossible for me to not give them the highest rating, however this team does have problems to work with such as the lack of prospects and the abundance of veterins. The team is talented, but the veterins just end up getting injured in playoffs. The leafs style of hockey and the veterins cannot be mixed without the result of being plagued with injury. Also I do not care much for Pat Quinn...just how many cups has he won? It's about time he got the boot. one more thing... (the leafs) will never win with morons like Domi Marchment and Tucker - tommer Who was one of the leafs best players in the playoffs? Oh right it was Domi! He even had an injured hip and fist but still pulled off a tremendous playoff performance for the leafs. You obviously have not been watching to make a comment like that, so I wont even take your rating seriously. Tucker is always there to play the game and never gives up, although he wasn't quite himself at playoff time (due to his abdominal/groin injury which he later got surgery for) he still was help to the the leafs. He finished the season with 21 goals which is good especially considering the games missed due to his eye injury and abdomin/groin injury. The leafs don't lose games because of Domi and Tucker, they win games. Your just being biast because you dislike them. GO LEAFS GO!

They have an extremely loyal fanbase, and some of the best players in the NHL, Sundin, Mogilny, Belfour, Domi, Tucker, Nolan, and of course my favorite rookie, Matt Stajan. They had a bit of a rough start, but they came back in November, to have a 14 game point streak. Not bad at all. No more streaks at the moment, but they're playing some serious hockey.

Alright Leafs. First I'd like to start off by saying...LEAFS ROCK! *cough* Now thats thats out of my system time to really get serious. Alright They have good goltending by Eddie. And tlqvist (or however you spell his name) Should turn out to be a great gaolie in time. Kid is great also. They have some of the best talent in the league. But there D needs some work. 2.5, really. Extremely strong fanbase and no matter what happens, their games will ALWAYS be sold out. I have never seen a team with so many fans all around the world ... maybe losing in the playoffs each year only strengthens their fan-base, because every year there are more and more fans. Talent-wise okay, mediocre management, but I have a feeling that the management feuds are going to hold fans' loyalty hostage ... Always great to watch entertainment-wise, and always quick to start feuds. (Not including the Wings-Avs rivalry, the best one is Toronto vs. Everybody Else)

I love this team. But they have a problem with relying on the goalie too much. Belfour is not as good as Cujo...especially in the playoffs. They need to get some better defencemen then they can compete for the cup.

LEAFS: This team is a throw-back from the Harold Ballard days. It has a limited draw on real player talent, who can play the game, and win. Leafs ride on their ol' glory days, coming on strong like a loud firecracker... but end up fizzling out, (as usual). A typical "refried beans" team, in the modern era.

The only truly solvent Canadian team, with great deep pockets. The irony?: really big stars don't want their money and don't want to play in Toronto. Rating them is irrelevant. No matter how bad they do, 18,500 will show to their games-- and are brilliant at filling road arenas as well. What impetus does management have to make this team a Cup contender when their fan base is blindly loyal?

While it's nice to see this team stay competitive for the past few years, I still think they don't really have what it takes to win the Cup this year, Mats Sundin notwithstanding. I would definitely cheer for the Buds before I would root for the Cannot-diens. P.S. Ever notice the plural of "leaf" is really "leaves?"
