I beleive he is a coahc that would a tramendous GM. his brilliance in hockey is one of a kind. I beleive he can be better than scotty bowman but he does not have the authority to accomplish such tasks. GO HITCH!!!

 | moolah (0) 05/14/2003 | Ken Hitchcock has a strong chance of bringing this team to the finals if he is given more authority in personnel decisions. This will be difficult to wrangle away from Clarke. He needs to undo the damage of Clarke's penchant for picking up/extending contracts of older players at the expense of developing young talent. A key piece, goaltending, we be resolved favorably for the Flyers with the early exit of Checkmanek. Lots of good ones are available in the free agent market and Esche showed some promise this year.
Shame the Flyers had to face Toronto, which was a brutal match-up for both teams. They would have needed all cylindars to have a chance to get past the Sens and/or NJ.

 | jzcrazy5 (0) 04/28/2003 | He has done great with the flyers this year; they have got past the first round for the first time in a while and there offense is actually clicking.

 | FTWHockeyfan (0) 02/18/2002 | I find the comment, "anyone can coach the stars" left without much thought. Perhaps you may have better spent you time reading Ken Hitchcock's coaching stats that got him picked by Stars ownership to lead the team. You'll soon discover he didn't get the accolades of "great coach...championship coach as a Crackerjack prize. They were earned over many years of great winning seasons. By the time a coach reaches NHL fame, not only is he coaching, but heavily involved in the TV show biz. Ask him about it, he'll tell you.
