The season is past halfway over, and it seems obvious they need some work. However, they appear dominant in one particular facet of the game. Both on offense and defense, they boast two of the best rushing units in the league surprisingly. Defensively they are slowly developing into a powerhouse. They have two of the best young, developing pass rushers in the league in Jared Allen and Carlos Hall who both had similarly spectacular rookie seasons. Jared Allen is probably never going to be Dwight Freeney, but if he can consistantly be a 10+ sacks a year guy (he had 9 his rookie season and is on pace for 13 this season), then it's all good. Their linebacking corps consists of Kawika Mitchell (the young leader of this team and leading tackler), Kendrell Bell (former Defensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowler), Derrick Johnson (last year's Butkis Award Winner for the best college linebacker), Keyaron Fox (the most improved defensive player in KC's training camp), Rich Scanlon (NFL Europe's Defensive Player of the Year), Gary Stills (a Pro Bowler on special teams), Boomer Grigsby (a fireball on special teams), and Kris Griffin (a fantastic rookie free agent that has already earned some playing time). The crazy thing about it is how much potential all of these linebackers have and the oldest one (Kendrell Bell) is just 27 as the youngest one (Derrick Johnson) is just 22 still and has the potential to be the best linebacker in the NFL by the time he hits his prime. With a growing secondary led by Pat Surtain and Greg Wesley, I could see this team growing into a top 5 defense as soon as next year. Their once again #1 ranked offense has been great in year's past and could continue that domination by just patching a couple holes on the o-line (at least a new left tackle), a fullback, and a QB in a couple years. They have a great young running back in Larry Johnson. They have 2 solid tight ends in Tony Gonzalez and the younger Kris Wilson. All of their recievers besides Eddie Kennison are still young and two of them (Samie Parker and Craphonso Thorpe) have the talent to be #1s. I don't know if they can do it this year, but, depending upon the offseason, this could be the team to watch next year.

Let's all agree to disagree here. I've said in other reviews how childish it is to assume a Super Bowl trip, but come on. Give me a break democrat1990. Even I know this team will never make it the way they're playing. Let's be real, I've heard many things about this team, and none of it's real good. All I have to say is knock it off Kansas. Knock it off right now.

A good team, but don't think they'll be as good this season as they were last season.

Best fans, best owner, best stadium (even after 32 years), best tailgaiting, best uniforms, best food, and a trip to Jacksonville for the Super Bowl in Feb. 2005 coming up! GO CHIEFS!

Are you kidding? The Chiefs are one of the most well-rounded teams in the country right now. Their offense, defense, and special teams are working hard every game and it shows. The only team to beat them so far are the up-and-coming Bengals, and the coast seems to be relatively clear from here on out. They seem to be destined to win the Super Bowl this year, and it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys. Go Chiefs!

If you had told me at the beginning of the year that KC would be 8-0 at the halfway point of the season I would have laughed in your face. But Priest and the boys, along with likeable coach Vermiel, have made me a believer. These guys are setting the standard week after week, and the formerly suspect defensive unit is playing at a very high level. It's amazing what a few wins early on against rival teams can do to a team's confidence. Whoever beats these guys this year will have to do everything right and Kansas City will have to turn it over a lot. That's the only way. I think it will happen, but no more than twice. I say 14-2 and a first-round bye, and probably win the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs of 2003-04 are almost unstoppable.

They've been my fav. NFL team since dumping the lowly San Diego Chargers in 1996 (I should have dumped them years ago). Definitely playoff contenders again, this year, I imagine. Trent Green has played as I expected him to. And Priest Holmes and their star tight end (I forget his name -Gonzalez?) have been stellar. I expect a 9-7 season this year and a wild card playoff seeding.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been my team since I stareted watching football. They have their good years and their bad years. They are working themselves back to the top and expect to see them in the superbowl within the next few years.

What does 'D' stand for in Kansas City? I know, there's not a D in Kansas City. Corny, I know, but they need something other than Priest Holmes and the offense. They were the St. Louis of running the past couple of years, but like St. Louis, they develop their defensive game to be succesful.

One of the most potent offenses in the league, but virtually no defense to back it up. With just a mediocre D, they'll go somewhere teams wanna be...

I'm not a Chiefs fan, but these are my favorite NFL fans ever. KC is underrated and overlooked as a great football town by biased east coast media outlets.

The Chiefs are only about two good defensive players away from being real contenders. The offense should only get better, especially if a reliable receiver emerges. The defense can't get any worse, so if it improves even from last to say, 20th, the team could make the playoffs.

The Chiefs aren't really preforming like they used to. The hav no talent on the ground attack. And right now they are going to change choaches for the 4th time in ten years. There defense has many flaws because of the loss of Derrick Thomas. They have a lot of rookies and not many veterans. The quaterback could use a little work to become faster, more accurate in passsing, and run the ball more. They also don't have the guts to pass long. I think that with a little help and slim fast this team could fight back and have a perfect season. 16-0, I hope!

Whoa, what's going on with the Chiefs? Talk about a free-fall... I'm a KC fan, so it's especially tough to watch them self-destruct like this. Last night's game against the Patriots was pathetic. How could Grbac throw the ball into the middle of the field, over 5 yards away from a touchdown, with the clock running out? It's typical of Grbac's poor decision-making, and while he occasionally does a good job, he screws up far too often. Grbac lacks the drive and leadership to take the Chiefs to the next level. Now KC is out of the playoffs for the third season in a row. Time to get rid of unstable, finger-pointing head coach Gunther Cunningham and bring in someone who can revitalize this team. Gunther can't even keep the defensive line from jumping offside every other play, so how is he supposed to convince the Chiefs that they can come together and make the playoffs next year? Time for some big changes.

Arrowhead is a great stadium, with a college like atmosphere (prefer pro football to college, but the atmosphere is so much better in the college game normally) but this year's team is pitiful.

One of better teams in the 90's. In the next few years, the Cheifs will have salary cap problems and probably need a large overhaul which will take a few years. Somehow they still remain competitive.
