 | Tk7138G (0) 08/27/2006 | The Steelers are proof that a good offensive line and good defense will carry you far. Put Willie Parker and Last Year's Jerome Bettis on the Texans and they look average. Put them behind the Steelers line and they look great.
I don't think anyone will be able to take over the Bettis, power back, role this season. Parker will blossom this season and rush for over 1,000. Losing Randle-El will hurt at first, but somebody in the WR Corp will step up. Also TE Heath Miller is entering his 2nd year and provides a good target for Big Ben.
There will be a big target and Pittsburgh, and their division will be harder this year. That being said I think that, barring major injuries, they win the division. They will have to play the wild card round, and I say that they make it to the AFC Championship game only to be beat by (gag me) the Colts.

 | widgeon (0) 05/18/2006 | If they had won the Superbowl without all those horrible calls I would rate them Higher Not to mention the superbowl againest dallas when Neil Odonnel threw 2 picks to larry brown to make sure the cowboys won, rigged nfl i would have to say so after the steelers were involved with both.

 | cwilliams194 (0) 02/06/2006 | what can i say Super Bowl 40 was amazing, the reverse, the TD run the whole damn 2nd half just awesome, one of the best halves of NFL football I've ever seen, admitatly the 1st half sucked hard.

 | dpostoskie (7) 01/25/2006 | Momentum, everyone knows that the mental aspect is just as important, or more important than the physical abilities. This team (right now) is very confident and play as a team. Big Ben has handled the pressure better than I ever imagined. They look to be destined to win it this year. Any given Sunday.

 | kimbull (0) 08/05/2005 | This team is weird because they are so unpredictable. I have no clue how they will do in the begining of the season but I believe they will be DANGEROUS down the stretch and into the playoffs. I think they are going to kill the Pats in week three.

 | JohnC62082 (0) 01/22/2005 | Patriots front seven isnt enough to stop the Steeler run, and when the PAts bring extra men to the line, the Steeler pass will burn the PAts. Look for the Bus, Duce and Plax to have a big game, the Steelers are too physical and the defense is dominating. The Colts were not physical enough to compete with New England, but the Steelers are. And the Steelers are Super Bowl bound.

 | Bubba Kincaide (0) 01/04/2005 | Are you kidding me? 15-1. The first AFC team to do it. The only team other then the '72 Dolphins to win 14 straight. Here We Go!!! This great season won't mean a thing if they don't get that ring.

 | Boxer3610 (0) 12/14/2004 | I have been hearing so much about Big Ben and Jerome Bettis on ESPN that it has been making me sick. The real reason the Steelers have had so much success is their great defense. On the other hand, I don't think that they are as good as the New England Patriots. I have watched every New England game of the season and I have to say that the Patriots looked like the 49ers that day. Tom Brady wasn't focused, the defense was horrid, and the Patriots did not have Corey Dillon. So just remember that Pittsburgh is still #2, but if New England and Pittsburgh do play in the playoffs, it is going to be one exciting game. Corey Dillon on that Patriots squad though makes that New England team untouchable. 11-0 with him, 0-1 without him.

 | Beelzebub (1) 11/30/2004 | As a New England fan, I have to give them credit. They beat the Super Bowl champs. NE looked really flat that day, though. A playoff matchup would be something to see. Oh, but get new uniforms. The 70's called, and they want their old uniforms back.

 | magellan (153) 11/08/2004 | Scary, scary, scary football team. It's hard to argue that this Steelers is not the best team in football after watching them thump the previously undefeated Pats and annihilate the undefeated Birds. I'm not seeing too many weaknesses in this team - other than the fact that Roethlisberger has to come back down to earth eventually.

 | blackgoldandblue (0) 08/25/2004 | Steelers should be the suprise team of the year. They have enough weapons on both sides of the ball and noe have brought back the smash mouth style that has made them successful over the years. Look for a great run by this team.

(0 voted this helpful, 0 funny and 0 agree) |
 | The_Drizzle (0) 07/31/2004 | They are going to have a good, solid team this year. Last year, the Steelers' secondary was weak and undersized and their O-Line was often injured. All of that is now taken care of and there is no reason to beleive that the Steelers won't have a playoff season like in years past. Also, the addition of Duce Staley should help the Steelers accomplish what they want to do this year.

 | jackblack35 (3) 12/26/2003 | the 4 rating is only because I love this team..have been a Steelers fan for 30 years..but I'm starting to think that it's time for Bill Cowher to go..players tune out their coach after e's been on the scene for a long time and Cowher has been there over a decade. He's so lucky he works for the loyal Rooney family who doesn't believe in firing coaches..2 coaches in over 30 years. Why he thinks Tommy Maddox is the answer I'll never know..I'm dying this year!

 | roblinb (0) 11/08/2003 | The reason why Tommy Maddox is one of the lowest-paid quarterbacks in the league is pretty obvious now. Surly Bill Cowher paid a bunch of these guys, mainly on defense, wayyyyy to much money and you can tell by their defensive stats. Plaxico Burress and Hines Ward are good receivers, but Maddox is getting killed, and lacks the legs to get out of the pocket and make plays to these guys. The Bus should have been cut in the off-season, but Amos Zeroue (if I spelled it wrong, sorry) is not durable enough to be an every-down back. I also hear that this team will be in salary cap trouble next year. Not good. But we Cowboy fans will be laughing as we make the playoffs and the sorry Steelers play golf and are even worse next season.

 | TheMyth (0) 04/13/2003 | The Bus needs a tune up. Famous Amos is a great backup, one of the best pitch hitters in the game, but he needs help with a consistent passing game. Plaxico Burress is a punk, but he's got talent. Across from him is the hard working, dependable Hines Ward. Will Maddox lead the Steelers to the promised land? Probably not without help from the underachieving defense that was so overrated at the begining of last season it was a joke. Bill Cowher is a great coach, but his players need to get over the flop from the Titans kicker. If they dwell on it, they'll do the same thing the Rams did on Vineteri's field goal: IMPLODE.

 | John290 (0) 01/28/2003 | I love my Steelers. I think Cowher is a great coach. The only reason Pittsburgh did not win it all was because they picked the wrong year to have a mediocre secondary. Pittsburgh is a great sports city with great fans and a classy team. I'm young, I'm patient. I can wait for a Super bowl.

 | BigDogDad (0) 11/14/2002 | I've been a Steeler fan since I knew what football was about. I'm not a "band wagon rider". I've stuck with them through the Cliff Stout and Bubby Brister years clinging to the hope that things could and would turn around. Now we finally have an offense thanks to Tommy Madox. Getting Stewart out of the QB role is the best move the organization has made since getting Brister outta there. The Steelers are always a contender and will soon be in the Super Bowl again going for that "one for the thumb" (S.B. ring).
