 | probert (0) 01/14/2006 | AWESOME! To CoachRod, your an idiot. Played 5 years, whatever, that is why your name is COACH. You couldn't last one play in high school football homeboy, the pro's would put you in the cemetary. You obviously don't know what your talking about.

 | Robbo59 (13) 11/12/2005 | One of the few players ever that could have dominated in the pros without having gone to college. The most powerful legs of any back ever. His thighs were acually larger than his waist! Could probably have averaged fours yards a carry without an offensive line. I saw him run over too many defensive players to count. What a joy to watch. A true legend.

 | irishgit (151) 07/30/2005 | The Pearl's only broken field move was to lower his head, but he was epitome of the big back. I saw him run through and over a Seattle defense in one game, and it looked like he was stamping linebackers into the ground to improve his traction.

 | kdfe (0) 11/26/2003 | Stopping Earl was like stopping a truck coming downhill with no driver. You knew when he was coming because he was running you over.

 | FredTaylor#28 (0) 06/21/2003 | This is my guy. He along with Dickerson has the best start of anyone in history for running backs. His first 5 years, he was simply unstoppable. But he simply ran out of gas. If you give me the choice of choosing any running back in history, i would take Earl Campbell in his prime. I know it was short but this guy put fear in the defense with his power. Not only that, he actually had speed too. He could run inside or outside.

 | Solenoid DH (20) 04/23/2003 | The year he won the Heisman trophy, it should have been awarded to Terry Miller instead.

 | kidkool (0) 04/22/2003 | You always could tell when the Earl Campbell Express was coming. The ground rumbled, bodies tumbled and fearless hearts crumbled. He was equal parts freight train, thoroughbred and warrior, all blended into a heavily muscled, bowling ball-like 232-pound body. Campbell was raw power, a yard-eating machine that terrorized NFL defenders from 1978 through 1985.
His 5-11 frame featured tree-trunk thighs that measured 36 inches, only two fewer than his waist, and a big, battering-ram head.

 | clif (0) 04/09/2003 | Earl Campbell was and still is the biggest and strongest running back ever! His thighs were huge. If he didnt break your facemask when he hit you, you were lucky

 | samson42284 (0) 04/07/2003 | I mean no disrespect to all of the other great running backs, but there was no one tougher or more intense than this man here.

 | Johnny Roulette (3) 01/09/2001 | The toughest back I ever saw. His toughness actually cut his career short. There are only som many hundreds of defenders you can trample before your body wears down.

 | cpayawal (0) 12/12/2000 | Earl Campbell was the most aggressive running back I have ever seen. His power was amazing. He had a play where he speared a defender and knocked the defender out of the game. He made his Houston Oiler team good and without him they would have been losers.

 | magellan (177) 11/19/1999 | One of the best thing to come out of Earl Campbell's short but storied career is the analogy; "That girl's got thighs like Earl Campbell." I've only heard it used only a handful of times, but when you hear it, you never forget it. It immediately invokes images of Earl's powerful, tree-trunk legs plowing through stick-men defenders on the way to the goal line. Very descriptive, but not necessarily somethig that you would want to hear about your girlfriend, or sister, or mom....
