Idiots giving Jim Thorpe a 1 shouldn't even be allowed to post. He was a great player for his time and the greatest athlete in History.

Embarassing to see what poor knowledge the "financial advisor" and other dorks have. The great Jim Thorpe

I just love how every "modern" bumpkin who played a year of Pop Warner thinks they could dominate the gridiron of the past. This man could kill most of the smack talkers if he put a hit on them.

What a bum. He was playing against 145 pound kids. He wouldnt do anything in todays game. I would knock this guy into nest week, and Im a financial advisor.

Well he was something. Football, baseball, Olympics etc. - who could do that now? Who else did it then? The coolest thing I heard about his football days was that back in his days you could still tackle a player by tripping him. Jim has these long oak trees for legs and could run like the wind, the trip was his tackle of choice. And he didn't pull any stick your leg out Three Stooges crap, apparently he ran up and plain kicked the legs from underneath people. Hard.

I love youngsters, so naive. The greatest athlete to possibly walk this earth, no matter how long ago he played, he still has respect for his abilities in not only football but an arrange of other sports as well.

Greatest all-around athlete. Not only did he play football, but he ran track and played baseball. Everyone he played against had the utmost respect for him.

The scary thing about Thorpe was that this was not his only five star sport.

Jim Thorpe, American Indian, Olympic athlete was to me one of the best athletes ever. His versatility simplicity and love of sport for sports sake transcends anything I have ever encountered. It was a crime when they (The Olympic Committee) took away his gold medals and gave it back to him years after he died. He should have had them while alive.
