I think it was disheartening to hear of Christopher Reeves death. He became such a huge public figure after his accident, and so many people admired him for his strenght in the face of adversity. He had such a desire to fight his fate, and I felt that he would be around longer to work towards research for those with spinal injuries.

I gave him a good rating alone, just for Superman.

A hero both on and off the screen. His strength and courage in the face of terrible paralysis was amazing. Although I can't recall ever seeing him as Superman, I saw the movie Somewhere In Time as a girl and had the biggest crush on Christopher Reeve. When he was in the accident, I can remember crying and asking my mom if he would be alright. Reeve's death was tragic and far too soon. I believe he was making some progress, and it's too bad that he couldn't live to see his dreams come true and his son grow up.

I admired his noble way not letting a major handicap get in the way of a productive life, and his tremendous skill for inspiring compassion for a great cause. Christopher Reeve put a human face on what it means to be a paralysis victim, lending dignity and a voice to many who'd long been suffering in silence. You don't have to bend steel to be someone's hero. As the Superman actor proved, courageously giving the best of yourself to the world regardless of obstacles is what truly defines a hero.

I was surprised to hear of his death. I watched a lot of his stuff, and I was realyl a fan of him. He was a brave guy, and he didn't deserve to put up with all the crap that he went through. But, he did, and he was always optimistic, always a fighter.

One tough cookie to be as active as he was with what he was up against. Gonna miss him.

I was saddened to hear of Christopher Reeves death. He made his greatest contributions not on the big screen, but rather with his advocacy of scientific research that will lead to cures for paralysis and other debilitating diseases. Although Reeve's never did live to see the day that he would walk again, his life after his accident in 1995 taught us all that we can contribute even under bad circumstances. Reeve could have hidden, but instead he chose to be an advocate with life saving research. That made it a life worth living...Rest In Peace.

In his life, Reeves was Superman, in every sense of the word. But on that day, for the first time in a long time, Reeve walked again. It is very rare for a person to rebound from such a tragedy and make some good out of their life. It is a rarity that after such an event that a person doesn't spend time asking god 'why', but begins to make the world ask 'how', he made us question how he did the things he did with the little he had. He had enough problems himself, trying to deal with his own condition, but instead, he tried to help others just like him. He spent the rest of his life not only fighting for himself, but fighting for victims of spinal cord injuries. Most of all, in those years that he was paralyised, he did more good for this world then anyone could have asked from him. He turned from a superhero on the screen to a real hero in life. Although his accident was tragic, it brought out someone in him that would not have been seen if his spine wasn't crushed.

This guy went from being on the top of the world to being basically helpless, but he still had the will power and drive to succeed and he made some big strides. He was a great role model and will be remembered as a hero of sorts.

Ok, he seemed like a decent guy, and a courageous one at that, but I found the media hype around him a little much. Not that there was much evidence that that was his doing, but I've got to say it turned me off a tad. There's a lot of folks with similar injuries, who suffer in silent anonymity. The fact that I never thought much of him as an actor probably didn't help matters any.
