A much-maligned gentlemen whose passion for the game and his team are matched by only a few. Not only would I want my son to play for him, I would want my daughters to compete for CU, too. Took Northwestern from cellar to ceiling; can do even more at Colorado. Adversity will only make him better, as it did for the Buffaloes this year!

He should not even be coaching, he is everything that's wrong with college football. Hide your daughters if Colorado comes to play a football game in your town.

Barnett's a good coach who's gotten mixed results with some noted accomplishments and noteworthy failures. On the one hand, Barnett ressurected Northwestern, a major achievement in it's own right. Look at NU now and you see a competitive program and a pretty good football school. Barnett at CU has had 4 winning seasons out of six and three Big XII North Titles in four years. Barnett is 3-3 vs CU arch rival Nebraska. Big XII Coach of the Year in 2004. Good stuff. Still, he's 41-32 overall at CU , is 1-2 in Bowls and had that embarassing scandal to go thru. In sum, a good coach who will do a solid job at CU. Expect the occasional down year and the occasional big year. CU will win, go to a decent Bowl and be comepetitive in the Big XII.

This coach has brought nothing but scandle and misery to this one proud program. Players leaving, rape alligations against team members. He is an embarassment to the state.

Fake punts, mulligan requests, multiple scandals, liar, criminal recruiter, more losing seasons than winnning...Mulligan Barney is a MAJOR loser & WWWWWWAY overrated.

Self-serving comments tend to detract from bad-to-mediocre lifetime coaching record. His public trashing of another mediocre coach (neuheisel) and marginal players - Katie included - left me with a bad taste in my mouth regarding the lessons he is imparting to his players.

Yikes - I think Barnett's career at Colorado is done. You have to question the judgment - not to mention compassion - of someone whose response to the alleged rape of his female kicker was: It was obvious Katie was not very good. She was awful. Katie was not only a girl, she was terrible. OK? There's no other way to say it.

Can win the big game ie. Nebraska in 2001 and Texas in the 2001 big 12 championship game. However he is prone to mental meltdowns during certain games. Good recruiter average play caller.

This guy has trouble beating Colo St and always loses the big ones. He is a great coach if you want to make a half-assed bowl but not the guy to take you over the top.

Incredibly underrated. It is unbelieveable how he turned Colorado around after Rick Neuheisel left them in shambles.
