How jaded does one have to be in order for shit to become a source of eroticism? It sorta reminds me of David Cronenberg's masterfully repellent sexual horror film "Shivers" (also known as "They Came From Within") when I even contemplate someone being into this (which I don't do for long if I don't want to gag). I used to think that when it came to one's sexuality I was pretty much live, and let live-- as long as the act was between consenting adults, then what's the problem? Even with a fetish like this-- if consenting adults are agreeable, then so be it, but it is undeniably nauseating, and I can't imagine it's healthy, mentally or physically. I know the Marquis De Sade in many of his writings seemed to be obsessed with this act. Profoundly demented serial killer Albert Fish (my grandmother knew the family of his most well-known victim, Grace Budd; they lived on West 15th Street in NY), who supposedly practiced every perversion known to man and then some, evidently enjoyed corprophilia almost as much as he enjoyed cannibalism. I remember reading a biography of notorious homosexual photographer Robert Mapplethorpe by Patricia Morrisroe. According to this biography, Mapplethorpe greatly enjoyed the practice with his lovers, and had to be warned several times by his doctor about how unhealthy it is; parasites apparently are the least of an enthusiast's concerns.
