 | numbah16tdhaha (156) 08/17/2006 | Pay off the refs? I watched the same game everyone else did. No dice. The calls were right. I frame by framed that crap on my DVR to be sure of it. Facts are facts. Cowher is the longest running coach in the league and the defending champ right now, and even if somebody did get paid off, you have to get in the game first and that means winning the games to get there.

 | rumsey1976 (0) 08/17/2006 | I think a coach that has to pay off the refs to win a superbowl isn't that good of a coach

 | voidlloyd (0) 01/05/2006 | Bill Schottenheimer always has 1 of the best teams if not the best team on the field. As he always finds a way to make the playoffs,he always finds a way to blow it!Out of a realistic 7 sb chances,he's only gone to the big game once and blew that. For example in that game bam morris had 83 yrds in 3rd qtr but never touched the ball again! He's a chip off the old block!Just like his mentor in san diego,Marty. He can coach you mon-sat.But blow it out his butt on sunday!

 | barrygomer (0) 11/29/2005 | I'm tired of Cowher and his ego-driven "Steeler Football" approach to the game. "Steeler Football" has resulted in over 25 years of failing to achieve the goal. He is nothing more than a motivational speaker that loves to hear himself talk. He can't game plan or coach worth a damn. The Steelers will never be anymore than a team with a winning record and no championships.

 | bmaperkins (0) 11/27/2005 | Bill Cowher apparently thinks he is coaching Pittsburgh High School's JV team with all his yelling and posturing. He is not a pro coach and never will be. He has lost more AFC championship games at home than most of the rest of the coaches in the AFC have even been to. You can take that as a compliment or a sad commentary on a man who is simply not in control of his emotions.

 | true burgher (0) 10/08/2005 | coward is not a coach he is a motivational speaker. he does well with the jaw and spitting everywhere. however, he doesnt know a damn thing about x and o's. hence, in the championship running in the teeth of a good excellent team like the patriots. i know bellichek love playing cowher in big games. way too ez. he plays the game like a statistician by weighing the odds. he doesnt take chances like aggressive teams that win the big one. he does just enough for u fools to have hope every year. steeler fans are like charlie brown and cowher is lucy, who makes u believe she wont move the ball this time. unfortunately, she convinces your dumb ass the ball will be there to kick but she moves it when u are right there. consequently, u fall right on your ass everytime. WAKE UP PITTSBURGH!!

 | upinya (0) 10/08/2005 | I can't stand Cowher bashers. I remember a long stretch during the eighties when we'd sell our souls for competative Steeler football. Cowher came in and brought respectability with him, and since then our team has consistently performed at a high level. Maybe Cowher never wins the big one, but I'll take playoffs nearly every year over 6 and 10 every year. I thank God each season that we don't have to deal with the revolving door that many other fans have to deal with.

 | rowdy66203 (0) 10/04/2005 | All these people who write bad things about Coach Cowher wouldn't make it as a Junior High school coach. Best of luck to the coach and Rooneys and all of us Steeler fans.

 | steelertoledo (0) 09/25/2005 | I have been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for 35 years. I demand excellence from my Steelers. I don't like the Browns, Lions, Bills or Bengals. Especially not the BROWNS. All true Steelers Fans hate the BROWNS.
Bill Cowher must be fired immediately. As of now--September 25, 2005. We just lost to the Patriots at home--again.
Ben Roethlisberger may not be the answer. He's just a kid and a very good one at that.
Jerome Bettis--I beg to you--Please retire. For the sake of the franchise. please just go.
The Steelers need fundamental changes. Keep the QB and make many other changes.
Are you listening, Mr. Dan Rooney? God, I hope so.

 | kimbull (0) 08/05/2005 | I think he is an amazing coach during the regular season but in the playoffs he is horrible. I think he learned from Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland how to lose playoff games in particular the 1986 ACFC against Denver The Drive. Instead of ignoring Schottenheimer's lessons on losing he embraced it. The problem he and all of Schottenheimer's disciples (Dungy and Herm) have is that during the playoffs they decide to play not to lose rather than playing to win. I love the Steelers and I hope Ben or Ken can get around Bill's horrible offensive play calling in the playoffs in 2005.

 | asskickingboots (17) 05/10/2005 | Defensively, Cowher might be the best coach in the league. He was one of two successful d-coordinators from the Chiefs 90s defense. There are some questions about his ability to lead an offense, but all he really needs is an offense that scores enough points to let his defense win the game.

 | SteelersFan (0) 01/29/2005 | Cowher is a great coach. He generates fans and that is why he is still there. The Patriots are just one tough team but look at Cowher's record, 16 wins and 2 losses. Not many coaches hold that in the 2004-5 season. He is macho with a strong personality and stands up when he thinks he is right; what more does one need in a coach? Tinkerbell he aint. He is the steel image that defines Pittsburgh.

 | JBWSteeler (0) 01/24/2005 | Bill Cowher has been good for the Steellers but it time to move on. The gaol is to win the the Super Bowl. If Bill Belichik is a genius ofr his incredible record in the playoffs then incredible failure must mean something as well. If you are 1-5 in home AFC Championship Games then your are at the opposite end of the spectrum. Despite the great regular season, the play off results are the same. Bill, you cannot win the big one. Let's move on.

 | Pats fan (0) 01/24/2005 | This guy can't win the big game. I guess Steeler fans are just satisfied with just making the playoffs and then losing the big game. These bums should of lost to the Jets. How could any one think they could possibly beat New England.

 | BlueNation (0) 01/17/2005 | Takes no crap off anyone. Unparalleled focus. Is not afraid of taking on anyone, especially New England. The Pats really don't know what is coming.

 | The_Drizzle (0) 08/08/2004 | I love Bill Cowher as he is a tough and hard-nosed style coach .. However, I just don't think he is getting it done with the Steelers. Ifhe doesn't get the job done this year then it may be time he and the Steelers move on and go in separate directions. Which is unfortunate, but Steelers have been underachieving for too long.

 | foom (0) 12/15/2003 | HE is great his TEAM is half-assed. Between the secondary, Maddox, and the offensive line it's a miracle they have 5 wins. Zerowae sucks too.

 | BOWERYRICK (0) 09/29/2003 | This observation is particulaly for coach Cowher...The use of timeouts before halftime when the Steelers do not have the ball but we do have the lead is just asking for trouble as you found out again this past Sunday. Let's get the team into halftime and some rest instead of trying to score more points and putting pressure on our offense when it is not necessary.

 | tjkiller (0) 07/25/2003 | good coach, wins games even when not expected to, but only gets a 3 because he pissed away to many years stuck on slash. he knows everything about football except how to pick a qb.

 | gvs528 (0) 01/16/2003 | Bill Cowher lost control of his team when Kordell gave him a tongue lashing on the sidelines during
a sunday game. His coaching style and ridiculous antics on the sidelines have turned many of the faithful off.
Press conferences have become a joke with the reporters walking on eggshells and not asking the
tough questions. Time to leave Bill,we're sick of you
