Green Bay Packers resume speaks for itself. He got Seattle to the Superbowl last year. This year was sad. But overall is a very good coach.

Although his team was riddled with injuries this season, Coach Holmgren lead his team to the playoffs and a victory over the Cowboys. He has been and continues to be a class act.

hmmm... I was born and raised in Seattle -- and now live in NE Wis. where they are rabid about the Packers. Holmgren is missed here .. Sherman maybe not quite so much, and its yet to be seen what McCarthy is going to do. I did think it was a shame he asked for GM and left when he didn't get it- then they gave it to the next guy...

Only reason he was even considered a good coach was because he had good, or even great players, in GB. Now since he has total control of Seattle his real coaching skills are coming out. He sucks like and old cranky dad does. Yelling at your players which are now adults doesn't gain you respect. Seattle will not succeed till they drop him and get a even tempered and more intelligent coach, gm. Reminds me of Billy Knight with his in your face temper tantrums. How can you thrive in a system with a tyrant as your leader.

being a lifelong Packer fan, let me be the first to say the rest of you bitter backers should grow up and move on. Look at your reasonings why hes a bad coach, he took another recessing team and turned them into Playoff Contenders. Don't forget about the Championship Ring he already has, the 2nd one he should have had, and the chance for another if Officials hadnt blown his last game as Packer head coach. This man doesn't perform based on which team hes coaching, he has a philosophy and its pretty apparent... West Coast Offense, Win at HOME, take chances when the game could be on the line... compared to your new favorite Shermans philosophy... Run Green, Screw the defense, Win when it falls in our laps, call just plain crappy plays(green bay needs to drop those weak screens) It was pretty nice that the scape goat last year was the D-coordinator(defense looks the same) and the year before it was Brett's thumb... we have a blame coach instead of a results coach. Holmgren made Green Bay the team it still has the potential to be.. and soley for that reason he's a 5... he's improving the Seahawks and making them Super Bowl bound... what did Lombardi do at Washington again? you don't say... and people still call him one of the greatest Coaches of all time.. brought us 5 championships in 8 years with how many teams in the league again? Holmgren should go down with Lombardi and Walsh status and the only way he wont is if uneducated bitter former fans of his style continue to shoot their mouths off. Holmgren, you're missed.

Holmgren took over the Seahawks, and they have gotten progressively worse. He may not have a QB like Farve to work with, but when you have a horse like Sean Alexander, you put a few studs on the O-lne and build a defense. Instead, he's added WRs he can't use.

Holmgren is way overrated. He was great because he was in Green Bay. Put him in Seattle and his lack of head coaching talent is obvious!

"Talk about a smart move. Leave a winning but declining franchise in a bitterly cold part of the world to take over an immensely talented but underachieving team in one of the best places to live in the country. You have to give credit to this guy's sense of timing." Does it still look like a smart move? Packers are 5-1 this year and coming off of a good season last year. Do you think Holmgren wishes he had a Brett Favre now? I think Green Bay is better off without Holmgren. He got greedy, and now he's put in his place.

I respect him for making some of the moves he has made with the Seahawks, and backing them up by saying ,"who wants to be 8-8 every year."Give him a couple years to find a quarterback and a couple other key players, and the 'hawks will be back in the thick of things.

Holmgren really proved his mettle as a coach with the Packers. He is an offensive genius and his trips to the Super Bowl demand respect from his players. I also like the fact that he rides a motorcycle to and from practice when the weather is nice. This is a big year for him and the Seahawks. He has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and anything less than a playoff appearance will be a huge disappointment.
