Adventureland was great, but I can see how viewers could be disappointed if they were expecting another Superbad, like it was marketed to be. I thought the vibe of the film was more like Juno. The main characters were a few years older, but still young adults trying to find themselves through confusing relationships. The protagonists in Juno and Adventureland also shared a "too cool for the main stream, we listen to indie music and read for fun" attitude. The acting from Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart was excellent, and they both played likable characters despite some missteps along the way.
For those who prefer the crazy, party comedy to the dramatic look at relationships, there were some hilarious moments. The funniest parts definitely came from the supporting cast, especially Frigo, played by Matt Bush...aka the kid who argues with his mom about unused minutes on the AT&T commercials. Bill Hader was also good as the bizarre manager of the Adventureland amusement park.
