 | TLITTEER (0) 03/05/2007 | Scottie Pippen was more than any team owner could have hoped for. Jordan might have seen a ring or two without him, but never six. Name another player on the fifty greatest list that was a towel boy at a tiny division two or three school his freshman year. Go ahead, Ill wait... Thought so. After Mike's first retirement, Scottie carried the bulls to the eastern conference finals both years. He had a good team, imagine if there was no 23. Some other draft choices would have been made and Pip would have seen just as many rings without Jordan as Jordan could've seen without him. Anyone to tell you different is a fan of highlight reels, not basketball as a whole. And I don't even think thats debatable. Granted Phil Jackson could very well be the best coach ever, but the Bulls front office was a complete mess ran by money hungry business men, who not only didn't appreciate the game and what players and coaches put into it, but managed to run a dynasty into the ground years before it should have came to a close. Would the Patriots owner fire his defensive genius of a head coach after hearing Tom Brady, Teddy Bruschi, and Richard Seymour say they only stay if he does? Not a chance. Back to basketball though. No player with such talent would have been so ok with going so unnoticed for so long. Scottie Pippen was one of the best defenders of all time, a solid leader, and probably the least selfish (future) hall of famer ever. If anything, maybe Jordan should apoligize to his underrated wingman. Maybe he should have years ago. But I guess thats part of the reason the NBA has black balled "his airness", while most fans and players alike are still fond of the 41 year old as he considers a comeback. Best of luck Pip.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 08/06/2002 | Witout MJ, Scottie Pippen is changing my oil at Jiffy Lube. Is there a more unreliable 'superstar' when there's a game you desperately need? In his prime, a highly athletic forward- but he just could not seem to shake the 'whiny bitch' label he carried throughout his career. . .justified or not. He had post-Jordan opportunites and blew them all. Rumors and smoke tell us that Pippen is a bad teammate.

 | ellajedlicka21 (5) 01/25/2002 | I lost respect for Scottie in a playoff game against the Knicks in the playoffs several years ago. He is so egotistical that he took himself out of the game for the final play because Phil Jackson didn't call the play for him and used him only as a decoy. That is one of the most immature things possible. I was never very fond of his game either. The fact remains, though, that Scottie has left his mark as a key player for the Bulls during their championship years and continues to be a good player for the Blazers.

 | Mikolaj Rogozinski (0) 03/27/2001 | Pippen is terrible, he cant shoot in clutch minutes, he is zero without MJ, I have never like him, selfish, arrogance and conflicted player, just average player-Jordan gave him glory.

 | Munson (7) 05/10/2000 | Scottie is still one of the better all-around players in the NBA. He wants to be like Mike and be considered the leader of the team, but I don't know if his teammates view him that way and truly look to him to guide them to the championship.
