He's alright, but disappointin' to me. He was supposed to be a Jason Kidd/Steve Nash kind of player but he hasnt lived up to the hype. He takes bad shots, and doesnt do anything special.

Jason Williams does things that nobody has seen since Pistol Pete. I do think it does help that he is white, but that is not all. I have not seen allen iverson pull off some of the moves that J-Dub does. He decision making is questionable though. Overall I do not see how anyone could say he does not have skills. He has broke about everybody off in the NBA.
conhusk 04/08/2004
jayson williams (former NETS center), jay williams (former BULLS guard), jason williams (current GRIZZLIES guard). he's a great player to watch: behind the back pass, no look pass, all varieties of moves you can think of. he just can't play tight defense, and not a consistent shooter. but still a good player to watch
DrFeelgood03 10/21/2003
which JW? there are soo many
jamestkirk 09/02/2003
I think he is overrayed. He is erratic and selfish with the ball, and I can't picture Jerry West keeping him around too long if the Grizz are serious about reaching the playoffs. Have you noticed the difference with the Kings since Mike Bibby took over at the point? I think the Grizz regret letting Bibby go.

Selfish ballplayer. . .one of the worst assist-turnover ratios for a starting point guard. . .bad field-goal percentage. . .at best a mediocre defender. . .I don't know how his steals are. . .Most white guys with tatoos to me are posuers (can the barb wire around the bicep be far behind?). . .Williams will never, never be an accomplished ballplayer until he learns a four-letter word: PASS. How can people be so dazzled by an occasional sweet pass? PS- Madison Avenue (tried) to market him because he is white, plain and simple. J-Dub's numbers would make him nobody if he was black. (for the rec., I am a white guy.)
yoshislink 05/10/2002
Too eratic at times. Can develope into a good player.
ellajedlicka21 11/20/2001
Jason Williams is another example of a person that is overly flashy and flamboyant. He does that, but I honestly do not see a lot of talent and athletic ability that would equate in a winning team.
spro 09/01/2001
I don't know why the hell all of these people are givin J-dub 5! Ya mabey every once in a while he can do somethin that looks hot, but his numbers how that he has no all round game. He may get fans to come and watch the game, but his defence is s***t, He can't shoot nothin, and he gets more turnovers a game then the rest of the Kings combined. All of these people saying he's got the best handel in leauge is a pile of s***t, what about J Kidd, GP, or even Starbury. J-dub is the most overrated player in the NBA ever! So J-dub, stop smokin weed and start playin ball for real!
grizzlies 07/07/2001
Jason Williams is the best, and all you ppl think that hes just a drugy well guess what hes not..more ppl do it just then him and he stopped so who cares, and he is the most exiting player to ever play! he does what he wants to do and doesnt care what other ppl think, and thats good.. if u dont like him, u play him and see whos better....
jdub21 06/17/2001
JWILL is the best ball-handler and passer in the game currently. He has the abilities to be a great player. If he improves on his decision making, defence, and finds a comfort zone he will be an all-star.
Luv4JDUB 05/23/2001
I really wish all yall ppl with PHD's would just stop frontin on JDub...he makes NBA worth watching...i mean who else you gonna see that's gonna make you scream OH MY GOD did you see what he just did? NO ONE so stop hatin and show my boy some LUV
JASONWILLIAMIS GOD 05/15/2001
ok heres how its going down my boy jwill has a crapy coach. the guy doesnt even play jason for crying out loud. If he did play more then maybe he will score more than whatever hes scoring now. Also im sick and tired of people busting on him and blaming him for the kings losing. just today i went to nba.com and there busting on him saying that he isnt performing, well how the hell are you goin to if you get 19 minutes of time in the playoffs!!!!!! hey rick adalman or whatever your name is go some where else
AJ Starr 05/07/2001
I do not fell that The Jason Williams gets enogh play time.I for one would love to see The Jason Williams play the whole game.I think the kings would be the NBA champs this yr if The Jason Williams played more. Mr. Williams make the game fun to watch.
TheGreatest 04/25/2001
How could anyone give him more than a 1 rating. Why don't the Kings start Bobby Jackson. Williams may be able to pull a few passes out of his #@!, but he turns the ball over way to much, and He has a horrible jump shot. This is one kid who needs to sit the bench.
joeylover1 04/25/2001
i think jason is sooooo cute, that's why i gave him 5 stars!
jwlover 04/22/2001
Jason Williams is a great basketball player and is the cutest basket player in the NBA.
Talena 04/14/2001
Jason Williams is the greatest! He's been my favorite player in the NBA since he was a rookie! I hope he stays on the Kings forever! That would definetly be cool...
jasonsgurl 04/06/2001
I just think that Jason Williams is FINE!!
jes'mary 04/04/2001
Jason is the BEST!!!! I LOVE to watch him "Do his stuff"!!! I'd like to see a lot MORE of him on the court...but i have heard via TV that he is in a lot of pain (in his feet), so, whenever i can see him is a gift!

Hi everyone! I'm a longtime Kings fan and love the team that Sac has now. I don't know how many of you are in the local Sacramento area and may have seen the Sacramento Bee but a writer on the Bee staff, Aliene Voison, has been bad-mouthing Jason the last few days regarding the incident with the GSW fan. Several other fans that I talk with feel she has a personal vendetta agains him and we need your help. Will you please write or e-mail the Managing Editor of the Sacramento Bee and voice a complaint about her? If enough of Jason's fans complain the Bee will have to tell her to cool it. It's not that we don't think what Jason did was right but that she's trying to make more out of it than the situation deserves. To e-mail, which is probably easiest use this link: http://www.sacbee.com You'll see a section at the bottom I think it is saying problems or suggestions, or contact us info. Just click on that and go from there. Thank you for your help.

Jason Williams is the best PG in the NBA hands down! Big deal if he toked up while in college...who doesn't?! He DOES NOT have a drug problem, pot is not even a drug...it's an illegal cigarette. If he had more playing time he would be an All-Star every year. Rick Adelman takes him for granted! If he played as much as he should and his teammates could catch his PERFECT passes, he'd average 15 assists a game. He's the most under rated player in the NBA! When he's on the bench...the Kings slow down considerably. He is the best dribbler and passer the league has ever seen! Do you know anyone else who can throw a perfect 80 foot oop?! Didn't think so. He is the best PG in the NBA! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!
AngelBabe777 03/08/2001
I have to admit that White Chocolate isn't all that great of a shot. He only averages, like, 15 PPG but he is still an excellent ball player. He's no Michael Jordan but I would definately want him on my team and would be proud to coach a player like that. You need some razzle dazzle in the game and he is the man to look at!! J-Wil is one of my favorite players and he deserves more positive recognition.
jasonwilliamsf anclub 03/01/2001
He's the best basketball players of all time coming up with new moves out out no where how is he so good he's the best there ever was and the best there ever will be.
JWill Forever55 02/23/2001

whats up jason williams is sweet. he is so under rated because of c web and that peja guy. williams coul;d be a top vote getter for the all stars if he made more points more assists amd less turnovers. he is my favorite player and he should be rated a lot higher by the nba and all the fans. keep an eye on him i do i have wallpaper his home and away jersey and every single card that hass come out of him. so thats what i think i think his passes are sweet and i like it when he is on the bench with the towel over his head and his hands down his pants. well pece peace jason williams all the way. kings nba champs in 2001

yo ppl i love this boy, and he really does everything he can, and i love it, all yall ppl who hate him, you better get off the weed yourself. how else do you think he handles all this pressure, he's a reputation to protect, if your jealous, come out and say it..... if you can handle, pass, and shoot as well as my boy jason, then we'll talk. peace
JasonWilliamsC hic22 11/08/2000
I think Jason Williams is a talented player. I think he would be better off if he would lay off of the drugs for good. Cause thats whats bringing him down and costing him games.
Slim 11/03/2000
I love J-Dubs, and I wish that he was on my team. His flash keeps that team going and scares everyone else. Besides Kobe, he is my favorite player. He may have a problem with drugs, but who doesn't?
the jackal 10/09/2000
i can definatly see his game going downhill in the near future if he doesn't stop smokin the weed. 5 for now but we'll see
sperryc 06/21/2000
Williams is any coach's worst nightmare from one standpoint, but an obvious prospect from another. He has as much potential as he does because of his confidence, but then again, it's that same confidence that makes him turn the ball over as much as he does. He's young and has a ways to go but I expect that if he becomes great (and I really think he can) it'll happen within the next year or two or not at all. He takes a lot of criticism but not only because of his flashy style of play--it has a lot to do with his high-profile role in the leage: on a young and only recently-promising team, he's one of only a few young white players with enough attitude (and skill) to grab the media's attention.
Wiggum 06/19/2000
I'm not sure I'd want Jason Williams on my team, but he's a lot of fun to watch. If he can tone it down a little bit, stop taking idiotic 3-pointers from way behind the line, and cut down on the foolish trick passes, he and Webber will make a powerful team and an excellent core for the Kings. But if he makes those improvements, he probably won't be as entertaining a player. I also give him points for that cool commercial showing Williams and Randy Moss as kids, but I have to take away points for that annoying commercial where he's a rapping cartoon. I wonder which would be more entertaining - a highlight tape of Williams or a blooper tape? He definitely has flashes of brilliance and flashes of uncommon stupidity.
magellan 06/19/2000
Fun to watch, buy I would never want to A) Play with him (when the outcome of the game mattered) or B) Coach him. What a tough position for his teammates and coaches to be in. He is one of the most popular NBA players and fills up arenas everywhere. He is idolized by suburban white kids everywhere, because he plays with flavor - and he's a preppy looking kid who has the respect of his black team mates. And the tragedy is that the very style that makes him such a draw makes it difficult for him to be in the game during crunch time. I must say, however, that I have been impressed by his refusal to be like so many other athletes and bitch about his reduced playing time. There is no doubt that he has skills - his handle is amazing, and he is explosively quick. Whether his judgement will catch up to his skills remains to be seen.
Shafty 06/19/2000
Flashy to the point where he gets sloppy and has the ability to literally throw the game away for his team. He does provide SportsCenter with some great highlights though.
Munson 06/19/2000
Undoubtedly, he is the most overrated player in the NBA. He takes bad shots and makes ridiculous passes when a simple one would suffice. Plus, his coaches are afraid to reign him in for fear of disrupting his game. However, he is still one of the more exciting players in the league and he is still young and learning. In the long run, I think he will be okay. Unfortunately, he is a prime example of what is wrong with the marketing powerhouse that is the NBA.
