Who would you match against him and win? No one! A starting five of Laettner, Walton, Thompson, Robertson, and Maravich, and I'll beat any others you want.

He was the greatest college player of all time hands down. Who had a career like him? No one. Every body hates him cause he dominated their teams. But you know, if your a Blue Devil fan he was the second coming of Christ. People need to give the man is props and let it go. He made the greatest shot in NCAA history and probably made the biggest clutch free throws in the greatest upset in NCAA history when the Devils beat UNLV in the National Semifinals in '91. We all witnessed greatness.

Christian Laettner single handedly created the duke vs. ky rivalry. he won two national championships. four final fours. he is at least one of the greatest players in the history of NCAA basketball.

such a freakin sissy.

He's a punk. Admittedly, Laettner had a great collegiate career, and his performance in the `92 regional championship game against Kentucky was amazing. But he nullified that great performance by stomping on the neck of UK player Aminu Timberlake as he was lying on the floor, one of the alltime bushleague acts of college basketball. He should have been kicked out of the game for that, in which case he never would have made that last second shot, and we wouldn't be subjected to his grinning mug a million times on TV every year around this time. Laettner reminds me of Niedermeyer from Animal House. It's my understanding that his teammates disliked him almost as much as Kentucky fans. And he's been pretty useless in the NBA. Karma, Chris baby. And Duke is the Microsoft of college basketball.

Greatest tournament force in the modern era... back-2-back titles, 4 final-fours... and 2 huge game winners (UConn and KU).
katekat 09/13/2004
Four final fours, Three Championship games, Two Championship titles...and One unbelievable game: Duke Vs Kentucky. 10 for 10 from the floor. 10 for 10 from the line...AND the game winning shot.

Saw him play live in college, wasn't impressed.. maybe he just had a bad game..

Anyone who knows college basketbal and is honest will tell you that Laettner was one of the best that has ever played the game. His attitude I agree was not the greatest but his results are 2nd to none! Mr clutch!

The greatest college tournement player ever. I've never seen a better performance from anyone when it counted then his perfect performance against Kentucky at the Spectrum.

he was good.

He overrated, but he was a jerk. He had less class than any college basketball player I can remember, and was no better in the NBA. Not only did he often let his team down, but he had a bad attitude while doing it. You're more likely to find maturity in a game of preschool tag.

4 Final 4s in a row? Can't beat that. Plus he was as clutch as could be... 2 game winning jumpers in March Madness when it's 1 and done... including the greatest clutch shot in NCAA history.

I'm a Duke fan, although not really a Laettner fan, but we are rating his college career here, so to call the guy a loser is just inane. Four final fours, 2 NCAA championships, the top scorer in the history of the NCAA tournament, and if memory serves, was 10-10 FT and 10-10 FG in the big UK Game. He may be jerk, but he was one of the greatest college players of all time.

The epitome of a loser.

Laettner. What a joke. First, he had to make that damn shot, then he taints the Dream Team, & has anyone heard from him in the past two years? What a superstar.

He sucked, he sucks, and he's not getting better!

I can't stand Duke or this guy, but he was a tremendous college player. His game against Kentucky was one of the greatest single performances in NCAA Tournament history.
