Was a solid player, but after that monster outburst at the homerun derby a few years back he just fell off the map.

I don't know whether age caught up to him, or now that the Yankee's strapped a Brinks truck on him he doesn't care, but something happened.

I remember Bobby being an almost-5-tool-player for the Phillies before he took the money and went to the Yankees. . .and Abreu is the classic case of not living up to a contract once he got the big money. How can this guy not be a .300/30+HR a year guy?

I feel bad about putting "Who cares?" by Bobby's name. He is a much better than average player, but that is all.

Two-time all star and clutch hitter. Homerun Derby all-time champ.

There are some guys who have all the talent in the world put up huge numbers yet are missing the special "it"... this guy is one of them. He bats 300 every year, hits 30 homers, drives in 100 and normally steals 30... all world right? Not really. His teams have never thrived. He's not a real team guy and you'll never see him crashing into a wall to save the game. He's a pefect fit for the over priced Sally's who share the town with the Mets.

One of the best players in the league and probably the most under-rated. Great hitter under pressure.

Bobby Abreu is unfairly criticized by Phils fans. He is one of the best in the game. This year he is really tearin it up so these naysayers are really looking like fools. The bottom line is Bobby Abreu is the best outfielder in the history of the Phillies!

I don't like Abreu that much even as a Phillies fan. He takes his time to get to fly balls. He's late for practice. I would trade him for a worse RF, good SP, and an RP prospect.

Why is he even on this list? By all accounts he has a bad attitude, shows up late to practice, blows off meetings, and 68 RBI's is pretty pathetic from a third spot. Who cares if he is top 10 in the league in on base percentage? So what if he is leading the Phillies in virtually every offensive category? Who cares if he has a cannon from the outfield and consistently among the league leaders in assists? The bottom line is that intangibles win championships, and Bobby Abreu is a bad seed. If I were the Phils I would trade this guy and get a good young pitcher.
