 | callitdowntheline75 (75) 07/31/2008 | I don't know what to say about this fighter except that he had two great opportunities to win the heavyweight title from a shot Riddick Bowe, and because of some kind of impulse he could not control, Andrew Golota, became a loser on so many levels aside from his two official disqualifications losses. What makes a fighter hit below the belt when you already have the victory in hand is beyond me, but Golota has (unfortunately) reinforced the image of a Neanderthal who is probably better at dragging his knuckles on the ground. Golota just wasted his talents, and will likely be more a footnote in boxing rather than what he might have become.

 | TheEvilSaintEvan (0) 06/06/2005 | hes got good power, a better than average chin, huge potential, and probly the most skilled heavy in the division. but his pros are cancelled out by his cons. hes got questionable heart, NO FOCUS, loses his cool, cracks under pressure, cant get the job done against top comp, and hes almost past his prime. as he showed against riddick bowe and chris byrd, hes got the ability to be a world champion. but hes had so many chances and he blew them all. he cracked under pressure against lewis, got DQd twice against bowe (the fights he should have won), should have beat byrd more convincingly, quit against grant and tyson, couldnt finish off ruiz, and was blown away by brewster. his fight with brewster was his third consecutive title shot, fourth overall. he had a shot against all the champions and a shot at all the titles and he never lived up to expectations. now he says hes gonna retire, and i dont think too many people will miss him in the division. he could have been so much more. what a tragic waste of good talent...

 | jaywilton (31) 04/04/2005 | As I'm writing this,Golota is about to get his third title shot in a row against WBO champ Lamon Brewster...while %99 of competent boxers can't make a living at it.

 | Potch1214 (0) 10/11/2001 | This guy could actually be a decent fighter if he could only get his head and his s**t together. Another of the classic nutjobs in the Heavyweight catagory. Can take punches, but gives away too many damned points on low blows and rabbit punches. A dirty fighter, but damn he's good.

 | dSharkie87 (0) 06/18/2001 | He is the premiere loser. He should get Campbell's Soup to be his sponsor. When he fought Michael Grant, he almost forgot he was supposed to throw the fight, then he remembered. He's the modern day Great White Dope.

 | upchuck (0) 03/07/2000 | he is a real tough fighter, but i think when he gets in the ring, he thinks he is still in the gym and continues to punch the "bag"...he is a tall man and must have real long arms to throw that many "low punches"....."get 'em up"
