Monday is probably (with my current schedule anyway) the worst day of the week. Gone is the sense of relaxation from the weekend and it's time to get my nose to the grindstone once again and launch back into work mode, and knowing that it is only the first day of my work week makes it even more depressing.

I always loved mondays when I was a Corporal. I started my day at 0445 with a good thrashing of the kids that usually went about four or five miles with a good sprint at the end. After that we would have monday morning formation at the battery and I would follow that up with our fantistic uniform inspections. After I chewed out the worst haircut in my section it was on to vehicle maintinence. I would stand around and yell at the troops for about an hour, catch my midmorning snack when the "gut truck" showed up, and give my troops crap for a while longer and cut them out for lunch if we had time. In the afternoon I would teach them how to be good little air defense gunners by whatever odd methods we NCO's discussed while the suckers were at lunch.

Lately, I've changed my mind on now what I call "Magnificent Mondays!" The last ten Mondays I've had have just been great or even better, truly wonderful. There are many reasons for this. One, I enjoy school and it's nice to go back. Second, I usually have lunch in the school's food court with a very good friend of mine, Amy, who is always a pleasure to talk to! And, some of my favorite classes are on this day too. I also enjoy just being by myself around campus and being able to walk around independently. Also, many of my online friends are back online after the weekend, and I can talk to them in the evening. Oh, and I usually make sure I wake up with a cartoon--something I've done since Pokemon aired at 7AM in the morning when it first debuted in syndication. And, of course, with luck after "Magnificent Monday" comes..."Terrific Tuesday!"

My previous company used to make Mondays Jeans days as opposed to Fridays, the way most companies do...Apparently it makes you feel a bit more carefree on generally the day that most people dred...wasn't that the same premise behind Monday night football?

Mondays more or less suck. I work a flex schedule and this is my longest day of the week. I have to go in early and I get home really late. However, knowing that the weeks go by so fast helps me get through the day. Before I know it Friday is here, woo hoo.

Every teacher seems to want to plan their tests on this day, especially after a three-day weekend. I think they do this to satisfy themselves for putting up with all the B.S. high schoolers give them during the week.

Monday is the train wreck of the week. There's that horrible moment Monday where your alarm clock rings and you get up realizing you have a week of work/school ahead of you. And if it also happens to be raining, take that one star away from my rating.

If I could I would officially declare Monday as Rateitall Day. A day where we come to work, but only to play on rateitall. We're all recovering from the weekend and no one wants to be back to work, yet corporate bs has been telling us for years that the workweek must begin on Monday. We've been free all weekend to do whatever we wish, and now they expect us to just jump right back in to the daily grind? If that's the way it has to be then at least grant us some sort of an adjustment period. I don't object to being here; I'll keep the seat warm from 8 - 4:30, just like any other day. But I will have zero social interaction with co-workers, will attend no meetings or conference calls, and will not check my agenda nor do any actual work. From this day forward, on every Monday I pledge to come to work and do nothing with the exception of make comments, read comments, or think of new list ideas.

Dateline: Monday, the beginning of what appears to be a long, rough, and tough week for the employee, student, and yes even the employer (bosses are human too). Why do folks think that way you (may have) asked? After a full weekend, including Friday of rest and free time from the weekly routine, you suddenly realize it's all over for the next 5 days. No need to worry, the solution is very simple. Keep your focus on the job and all thoughts on how long 'til the weekend will be out of your head. Time should be passing rather quick if you remain on course. Before you even know it, Friday will be here and you're finally ready to plan your weekend.

Ah the Monday blahs, don't you wish on some days you can just go back to Sunday or better yet Saturday. The start of the work or school week. Some Mondays can make you feel really sluggish, but Monday isn't always that bad. If you had a good weekend, then Monday can be a good day. If you're Monday is good and productive then that may lead to a good week.

I hate Mondays. It means no more weekend untill the school week is over. As a college student I have my English class on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I can not stand that teacher. Due to the combination of my teacher and the fact that the weekend is over I find Mondays to be the worst day of the week.

When I was a senior in high school I actually looked forward to Monday because that year I only worked weekends and during the week I was playing basketball and goofing off with my friends. So after a long weekend of sacking groceries and doing homework, I looked forward to getting back to fun of my last year of high school. Nowadays I really don't care one way or the other about Mondays.

It's a drabby day and always will be. I do agree with Snoopy, CBS has killer comedy shows lined up for that night, plus it ends with CSI: Miami. A great lineup that (I think) is better than NBC's Thursdays.
