Arizona State played their first football game in 1897 and has fielded a team every year since except 1898, 1901, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1917, 1918, 1920, 1921, 1943, 1944, and 1945. Arizona State has never been credited with a National Championship and is a member of the PAC 10. Notable coaches at Arizona State include: Frank Kush and Bruce Snyder.
