If you're talking current teams it's gotta be Florida. A National Championship. Possibly the best coach in the nation. And since it's located in Florida they're in a recruiting factory and can get 5* players like finding pennies. Add a previous #2 ranked recruiting class in 2006 and the #1 class in 2007 and you have arguably the best team in the next 5 years other than USC or Texas.

I dislike them, but I gotta be realistic here. Florida is a very good team and they are establishing a great recruiting class. Including getting a superstar in Percy Harvin.

I have always been a fan of the Gators. They have great recruting and a load of talent. To bad they are in such a tough conference and cannot pull out close wins. But a lose to missipi st. was when they bottomed out. They need a steve spurrier or either the Utes coach or louiviless coach. then they will attain glory once again and not just be an average team.

Give me a break number 1...I don't think so. USC, Oklahoma, and than it's a bunch of teams fighting for the coveted claim to Were Number Three

This is a good football team with talented players and fairly good coaches. I sure would like to have Spurrier back, but we have Zook and we should be lucky for what we have. considering some teams DONT go to bowl games and some teams don't even have a winning record, or a win a game period, I consider the gators a good team. Just as much talent as UGA, FSU, UM. It's just a new coach. It's been two years and I think the stability is coming back to the team. 3rd season and you know what they say: third time's a charm.

They haven't done squat with Zook and MSU beat them when they had Spurrier. Heck Michigan beat them in the 2003 Citrus Bowl. Give me a break.

WHAT PURE CRAP! THE GAOTRS PLAY A VERY TOUGH SCHEDULE YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT. TENNESSEE, GEORGIA, FLORIDA STATE, AND MOST OF THE TIME WE PLAY IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST A VERY GOOD TEAM. EVERYONE HAS THEIR CUPCAKE GAMES WHETHER IT BE THE GATORS THE NOLES OR THE CANES.

c'mon - the non-conference schedule is pathetic. Other than FSU, it's a wash. Get a life Spurrier and while you are at it - get some balls. Also, the Conference schedule is pretty easy too - what happened to Bama?

Say what you want about Spurrier (I can't stand him), but they win year in and year out. Nothing but bitter Canes and Noles fans who must be bringing the Gators' rating down on this site. Last year (2000) was a down year for them. Yet, with a very young team, they still won ten games With 18 returning starters, they're the 2001 pre-season #1 in most polls and will be in the national championship hunt.

UF will be in Pasadena when the smoke clears on the 2001 season. QB may be a concern, but Rex Grossman is good enough. WR is not a concern, with Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell returning. The lines should also be strong. LB may be weak. The secondary may be the best in america, led by CB Lito Sheppard. The Gators need, as always, to beat FSU and Tennessee to contend.

Isn't it funny how EVERYBODY says the same thing about Florida Football - what a loser schedule, year-after-year. OK so the SEC has a couple of good teams (as all conferences do), but what about the other 3-4 games. Go back and look at the Gator's non-conference year-after-year. Yes they play FSU, but after that its a bunch of high school teams - and guess what, they are going to do it again in 2001 - this year they play Luoisiana Monroe (!!!!!), Marshall, and New Mexico (OUCH). Add that to Vandy, Kentucky, and Arkansas, and I can't explain WHY WOULD ANYONE GO TO THOSE GAMES. Hey Spurrier - What Me Worry???

Florida is beginning to learn a little humility in the form of the two losses to Alabama last year and the defeat by Miami. Sure hurts when the other team rubbs your face in it! Gators and Gator fans you need to learn how to win and lose with class.

Winning records is one thing - attitude and human decency is another. Why would anyone go there to play football over UM, FSU, Central Florida or FAU?? Yes the campus is awesome but with that dictator at the helm - no thanks.... anyway UM and FSU dominate the NFL.

What is it with all you Florida haters? Every year they're in the top ten (many years with a legitimate shot at winning it all) and they're being given terrible ratings? Love em or hate em, give credit where it's due; this is a top caliber ball club.

How can you give a perennial national championship contender anything less than a four? Obviously everyone that visits this site is a big FSU fan, but stats don't lie, the Gators rank with the best of them.

Florida always plays good football. They have fast players and an entertaining team. They win a lot of games and it is also a nice school. I rate them a five because they are a good team.

This team is a total joke - they play a ridiculous non-conference schedule, they took Miami off their schedule because they are chicken-Gators, and they always lose to the Noles. Get a life Gainesville!!!

Buckle up Gators the joy ride is over and it is going to get bumpy. Spurrier's act is getting old and players just don't want to play for that whiner.

Florida has a good coaching staff, but the longer Steve Spurrier has stayed there, the cockier and more rude the team and he have become. I liked him better before he showed up at Florida. He's even refused to admit he's from Tennessee, and even if he didn't coach for Florida, it's wrong to deny your roots.
