A very good team, not a great team! Lost to Arkansas and UK, who, combined, had 10 losses between them. Won 2 very tight games against Florida and Auburn, in which they were behind the entire games. Ohio State made many mistakes and were outcoached, again, is why LSU sits as National champs. USC and Georgia are the 2 best teams at the end of this year. LSU did play the National Championship at home too. I think next years game should be played in Cincinnati for crying out loud!

Played 8 ranked teams in the 2007 season, and only lost to one of them. Absolutely the best team in the US. Best coached and incredibly deep with talent. Geaux TIGERS.

IMMENSELY overrated...as is their conference.

Admittedly, as a die-hard USC fan, I'm not too fond of Louisiana State. And I did have some problems about whether they deserved to be second in the BCS after two losses against both Kentucky and Arkansas. But in retrospect, the Tigers DID deserve to be in the National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes more than the others based on the fact that they did beat Virginia Tech by 40+ points and were the Southeast Conference champions over rivals Georgia and defending champions Florida. Moreover, the teams ahead of them (Missouri and Kansas) also did not win their conference titles- not that this ought to be a prerequisite as to who should have the right to play for the National Championship. But winning your respective conferences ought to give you more sway (and therein lies the fact that USC and Oklahoma might have had more legitimate claims to be #2 than the aforementioned teams aside from LSU). But in all fairness, the LSU Tigers deserve to be #2. And yes, they are a great team themselves (though I feel the Trojans would have beaten them)!

les is more. if he can keep from screwing up what nick saban built, lsu could become a serious dynasty (complete with crystal trophies and everything you sore trojan losers!). everyone that thinks usc would've won in 03 is delusional. that dominant lsu defense would have held usc in check the same way they held oklahoma's #1 in the country offense. i challenge anyone to keep a straight face while saying that we didn't play anybody that year. both times we played georgia they were inside the top 10 (1st time #7, 2nd time #5)and we didn't even get any bcs quality win points for those victories because we knocked them out of the top 10 by whooping them in the sec championship. auburn was #17 when we tore them up. ole miss was #15. the sec overrated? all things considered, the sec is arguably the toughest conference in college football but because it's such a small market when compared to other more heavily populated areas of the country, we really don't get much respect in the national media. not to mention the fact that we play one more game against a difficult opponent than other conferences like the big 10 and the ridiculously overrated pac-10. finally, we beat oklahoma way more convincingly then the score indicated. with that defense, the game plan was to keep the score low, let the defense win the game, and make sure the offense didn't lose the game for us. it was a long time coming and that was our golden year so i have to answer the call when people try to act like it wasn't the real deal.

They whooped Miami 40-3 in the Peach Bowl. Makes me wonder why they didn't get a BCS Bid, and almost losing to Arkansas, get blown away in the SEC Championship, and get shocked by a 5-6 Tennessee Team.

I love the Tigers, but they've lost too many to be championship contenders this year.

Pretenders, as bad as Oklahoma played anyone should have beat them by 4 TDs.

You have NOT been to a college football game until you've seen LSU in Tiger Stadium. They could probably add 3 more upper decks and still sell out.

There is no place on earth like Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night. When the Golden Band from Tigerland comes out from the South End Zone and does the Stadium Salute playing Pre-Game, it is the essence of what college football is all about. There is nothing like it with the crowd standing and yelling at the top of their lungs! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

LSU is one of the best universities in the country. From saturday nights in Death Valley to the paries that take place afterward, fun like this can only be experienced in Baton Rouge.
Gray tiger 04/14/2003
No other plaqce like it! Saturday night in Tiger Stadium is a religious experience, baseball at the Box is a pilgrimage, basketball at the PMAC is a devotional. I could go on about all the other sports venues but I think you get the message.
Jester2you 04/14/2003
Nothing needs to be added. LSU speaks for itself.
tjlhou 04/14/2003
There is only one place to be on Saturday night. And day if you get the chance !!

Everything about this university makes it an awesome place to experience college. The football program is on the rise and it has a long line of traditions. You have to experience it to believe it. I've been to other college games and pro games, but nothing, I mean absolutely nothing has compared to a Saturday night on the Bayou!
BIGGESTBRAVESF AN 01/25/2003

Nick Saban joins the SEC and immediately becomes one of the top 2 coaches in this always-overrated conference.
