Congrats Texas. Thank you for shutting ESPN up and stopping the winning streak that USC maintained since 2003. And Texas added to their winning strak themselves too.

Overrated every year. Good athletes, poor coaching.

4 straight loses to Oklahoma. There a good team but they won't be making it to the BIG XII Championship this year. UPDATE: 2004 Red River Shootout: Oklahoma 12, Texas Nothing! Not since Baylor in Nov. 1980 has Texas been shutout.
numbah16tdhaha 06/14/2005
Got shutout the last time they played the Sooners and that is what people remember.

They're the collest team out their. And in responce to OUrugger, who won the rosebowl, and who lost horribly in the national championship.

LOL...Mack Brown is still your coach
Redbird294 10/23/2004
Two words: Beat Oklahoma. Since Texas hasn't done that lately, they're simply OK. Mack better dust off the resume after getting whipped again this year.

Though everything everyone has said is true u have to admit that when Texas is in their groove the are on fire and very impressive!
alpepper 09/24/2004
They must beat Oklahoma to gain street cred in my book.

Underachievers..........
clarkone68 09/14/2004
Hmmmm, maybe they'll get an NC one of these decades......
OneHungryMonst er 09/04/2004
Does the fact that they're eighth in a coaches' poll and the chances that (as even one analyst said) they may be able to beat Oklahoma for their conference say anything to you?

Can't beat your rival, then your not good.
FireDragon 07/09/2004
Probably should be rated a 5 star because they are the Texas state champions AND have the Rings to prove it !
absinsane34 04/26/2004
Eh, they can't be the Sooners so do they really matter? They will be lucky to ever win agains't the Sooners as long as macky mack is there. O yea and some guy named Bob Stoops coaches that other team. 62-14, 14-3, 35-24, 65-13

UT has one of the best rosters in college football. It is a shame that these players have just an average coach. Watch the passing game, and the receivers are all out of sync, and the quarterback always has a hard time finding a rhythm with them. The offense depends solely on the physical play of their players, because the system is poorly managed and coached. Rhythm, repetition, and timing are the keys to offense, and UT can never find that when faced with a team of equal speed and skill.

Hook 'em Horns!

Between Texas's 2 awesome WR's Roy Williams and BJ Johnson, phenominal RB Cedric Benson, and one of the best Qb's in the game, Chris Simms, Teas is the perfect recipe for a National Championship!!! We may have a few set backs (ie. Oklahoma), but it is still a good possibility. I'm cheering for them full force. Hook Em' Horns!!!

The Texas Longhorns, I believe, are now on the cusp of greatness. Their recruiting, thanks to Mack Brown, has been phenomenal the last few years. But now, I think it's time to put up or shut up. The 'Horns MUST learn how to beat the big boys on their schedule (namely Oklahoma), and prove that they're for real. I'll be pulling hard for them. For now, though, until they prove themselves capable of winning big with their top-tier personnel, I'm rating this team a "4".
Davis21Wylie 07/03/2001
The Longhorns will mount a run for the title in 2001. Chris Simms is among the nation's top QB's, and WR's BJ Johnson and Roy Williams make a formidable pair. The defense is also a five-star corps, led by CB Quentin Jammer and E Cory Redding. Special teams may be of concern with an inexperienced kicker and punter. Overall, Texas is in the top 3 teams in america.

My favorite team is the Texas Longhorns. They're not the best team, but I like their jerseys. I would never play there, it's too hot.

As an alum, I cannot even begin to express how much Mack Brown and his team of coaches have meant to the University. National Championship talk is now a reality in Austin.

If Nebraska gets 5 stars, then Texas deserves at least that many! The Texas-Nebraska game was a ton of fun for the fans and proves that Texas is not a team to be ignored.
