 | OUfan4Life (9) 09/06/2007 | This is a guy people either love or hate. Anybody who rooted against the Sooners obviously love to hate him even though his career is long over. He was a tremendous talent on the field in college and quite the arrogant showman. That is what people hate so much. As a pro, obviously he didn't live up to expectations and faded away. His pro career will always be remembered for that hit he took from Bo Jackson. As far as his acting...he did suck...big time.

 | SZinHonshu (45) 07/11/2007 | Bosworth had a standout college career in Norman, no doubt. However, some people have asserted that his rep was overblown because he was simply a very good player on a great college team. What can't be argued is that his pro career was far less impressive than many people anticipated it would be.

 | Mad Hatter (38) 07/10/2007 | Although he did something that was not a good idea, (referrng to the NCAA as the "National Communists Against Athletes."), as a college player he was one of the best, winning the first Butkus Awards in 1985 and 1986. (Linebacker of the Year)

 | dyld34 (0) 07/10/2007 | ask any player that OU went against from 85-87 if the boz was overrated and they will tell you that he had great talent around him but he was still the leader and best player of those teams. three time all big 8. two time all american. only player to win the butkus twice!!!!!

 | fun (0) 09/05/2005 | Bosworth was simply a great self-marketing with a great team. The linebackers that replace Bosworth in the Orange Bowl was the better player all year.

 | Jog nannon (0) 03/05/2005 | Brian Bosworth? The triumph of style over substance, except in the case of substance abuse! A legend in his own mind. Can't act either.

 | Big Red (0) 08/20/2004 | Brash and arrogant with the talent to back up all the bravado. Making 395 tackles in his three years including a school record 22 in the 1986 classic against Miami. He was the model of consistency and improved each year making 128, 131 and 136 tackles leading the Sooners in tackles all three seasons. He was a consensus All-American in 1985 and 1986 and the first ever two time Butkus Award Winner. He was also great in the classroom as a GTE/co-SIDA Academic All-American in 1986. Butkus Award Winner - 1985, 1986
All-America - 1985, 1986
All-Big Eight - 1984, 1985, 1986
Academic All-America - 1986

 | boomer1402 (0) 04/13/2004 | I agree with the comment, Steriods 5, Bozo 0. Even Bozo made the comment that he got out of football when he ran into certain offensive linemen and running backs. At least he has the panache to take it for all it's worth.

 | HuskerTexas (0) 12/30/2003 | Brian Bosworth was a dirty, mean, foul, obnoxious player...who beat our backsides season after season! We were glad to see you go, Boz. I must begrudgingly give you props for earning back-to-back Butkus Awards. If only your acting career could have been as decorated!

 | dutch178 (0) 12/29/2003 | He is the classic example of style over substance! He wasn't even the best linebacker on those OU teams! Dante Jones led the team in tackles both years they played together. O-V-E-R-A-T-E-D!!!!!! But hey, the ultimate come-uppance, was the MNF game when Bos met Bo, and then fell over backwards with cleatmarks on his chest.

 | AECCLINT (0) 04/24/2003 | THE MOST FEARED BACKER OF THE 80'S, EVERYONE THAT IS HARPING ON THE ROIDS BLOWS! HOW MANY OTHERS ARE OR HAVE DONE THE SAME THING! IDIOTS!

 | LB44 (0) 01/05/2003 | The Boz never showed us what he was capable of and if he played longer he probably could have been the greatest linebacker of all time

 | Solenoid DH (20) 03/07/2002 | If he was so good, why did he have to cheat with steriods? And why did he have to act obnoxious? He's a great example of what sportsmanship is NOT.

 | cwil466om (0) 10/28/1999 | Love him or hate him, Bosworth was THE dominant defensive player of the 80s. He could not be blocked and he was as effective rushing the passer as he was defending tight ends in pass coverage. Also, he added a flair and personality that is missing in this era of boring players who spew politicallly correct pablum.
