The media is once again kissing their ass and slurping their phallus even though Wade Phillips cannot really control this team.Jones thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. . .and in business, he is. . .but this is football- and Jones is in danger of being football's Steinbrenner. . .it's been years since the Cowboys won a playoff game that mattered. This is a team of players who are certainly good but get way too much coverage by the media.

To say this is Americas team is like saying AIG is Americas company. Both are total failures lately and I wouldnt be suprised to hear Jerry Jones ask for a bailout!!

As a lifelong Cowboy fan, the last decade has been relatively difficult to be a Dallas fan. Finally we seem to have the team to get over the hump. The talent is there and I fully expect Dallas to not only win their division but go deep into the playoffs. Romo has run out of gas the last two seasons, that won't happen again. I think fans are going to be pleasantly surprised to see Zach Thomas still has some life in him.
MD4005 08/07/2008
I think they got some good players to work with. The C'boys got felix jones from OU and he is a perfect fit along side Barber. They have a more experienced Romo and they have some talented recievers to work with. I see them go 9-7 or 10-6, that is my guess.
whatupman 07/08/2008
cowboys suck, like a real team like the Giants

they are going to without julius jones

Overrated and way overhyped...as always. TO can talk all he wants and JJ can spend all he wants--hope they don't get a ring.

Living in NC, about the only chance I get to see the Cowboys is when they play the Panthers in Charlotte. I have often heard BOA Stadium in Charlotte called Texas Stadium East. There are less that 40% Panthers fans surrounded by Cowboys fans. By the end of the third quarter, most of the Panthers fans have given up and left. I have personally seen the same in Atlanta, New Orleans, St. Louis, Tennessee, and Arizona.
numbah16tdhaha 02/18/2007
They were America's Team in the 1970's, but now most football fans dislike them and the only people continuing to use this phrase are Cowboy fans.
SweetDee 02/18/2007
America's Team, baby!!!!!!
Tk7138G 08/27/2006
They are just a step behind the Redskins. If they had a better offensive line they would be my pick for the Super Bowl for the NFC. They have 2 pretty good backs, an experienced starter and an upcoming young QB who understands the system. They have a great defense, and great WRs. The only thing holding them back is their line.
LetsGoRedskins 2006 06/16/2006
Best of luck with T.O. LOL!

Have fun with TO destroying your locker room, boys.
Redskins101 01/07/2006
I think "America's Team" just got DENIED a playoff run by none other than the Washington Redskins. Sorry guys. America hates you. Ask fans from Seattle to New York-you are not liked.
pdrvmr 10/24/2005
If you EVER had a doubt that the Cowboys are America's team, go to any away venue where the Cowboys are playing and see if you can find a home team fan amongs't all the blue and silver that the fans of the Cowboys are wearing! Think I am BS'ing, just swallow your pride and see for yourself. It is an amazing sight to behold.
irishgit 10/03/2005
Don't look like anything special this year. A pretty ugly Niner's team almost put it to them. And a less than mediocre Raider's team did put it to them.
John Candy 09/27/2005
I know some things, but nothing about the Cowboys. Give me a break ladies and gentleman. Who are the Cowboys? I havn't heard jack about this team since early last year, and it wasn't anything to brag about then either. All I can say is: Keep those cheerleaders, and I'll debate whether turning off the game is a good idea or not. Come on fellas let's get with the program here.
ReBounds 09/16/2005
I rank the Cowboys, as a franchise, as great. I don't know what to expect from this current team configuration but the first game does make the season look promising. However, if I agree with GoRedskins that the Cowboys are only average, that probably means the 'Skins are below Average. Actually, I expect MNF to be a competitive and exciting match.
derekgorgonsta r 09/15/2005
Five rings. Period.
dpostoskie 09/13/2005
They need a QB and Drew is NOT a good choice. The San Diego Chargers were not a bench mark by any strech. Gates had to sit the game out and the 3rd, 4th down penalties killed the the bolts. Still, the D is back in Dallas and they have a weak schedule. They'll make the playoffs. Philly has problems this year, the Skins suck and NY is average, just like Dallas, so they should be there in the end.
bobcat21 08/06/2005
This is gonna be the year that the boys are back
GoRedskins 03/30/2005
The Dallas franchise has had a great past with many great storys. However, as a long-time Redskins fan, I have to rate them average (at best).
pwright1 12/15/2004
The best franchise in the history of professional sports. Continues to be in the top 5 for NFL merchandise sales for 25 straight years. Sell out crowds year after year home and away. Even the best cheerleaders every team copied. Which team sold out more away games than anyone? The Dallas Cowboys of course. More Super Bowl appearances than any team and won 5, tied with the 49ers. More reasons why they are America's Team.
sfalconer 12/02/2004
Jerry gets what he deserves, a team that sucks.

americas team my ass...was there a vote on that ridiculous slogan? Nope.
dj3 11/12/2004
They are the best team in the entire NFL if someone thinks differently, then you all suck too!

brianptx2 10/26/2004
I love this team, but this is not our year....
clarkone68 09/14/2004
INT machine at QB, no RB, crappy group of WRs, crumbling offensive line, man they better hope their D plays better than it did against the Vikes.
Blanco~Nino 08/30/2004
This teams getting there. With Eddie George at RB and Keyshawn and Glenn at Reciever, as well as a solid vet in Testaverde at QB, the Cowboys have a tremendous upside. Throw in a Coach like Parcells and the future is very bright. In a yeear or two they could be serious heavyweights. Expect them to take the wild card this year.
OneHungryMonst er 08/25/2004
This isn't Parcells' year.
coorsman 08/11/2004
I've allways liked the Cowboys and I think always will....BUT I'm not one of those cranked up fans that think the Boys are the best and will be in the Superbowl every year! Having said that I think the team is finally getting back on track with Parcell, Keyshawn and Eddie George. But I'm not to sure about a QB in his last years of his carrear. What the boys need is a QUALITY QB.
jetrocket99 08/11/2004
Geroge and Jones will put up huge numbers in Parcell's ground oriented attack, which will open up opportuniyies for Vinny and Key to get their swerve on baby.
DRoxas 08/09/2004
Vinny to Keyshawn.....TOUCHDOWN!!!!!.....would bring a tear to the eye if not for those hideous blue stars on their helmets.
MariusQelDroma 08/03/2004
I see, I see...Another year of getting a mudhole stomped in them by lesser teams on their schedule.
LanceRoxas 08/02/2004
Parcells is a GOD! Though I hate the Cowboys you can't help but root for the guy. They'll inch out the Skins and take the division this year.
Dilley 05/12/2004
I HATE THE CRYBABIES!!!! I THINK THEIR CHEERLEADERS CAN PLAY BETTER THAN THEM!!!!!
absinsane34 04/26/2004
Best Franchise of all-time. There is no doubt that the Dallas Cowboys are the best NFL franchise ever.
Solenoid DH 04/18/2004
This was my favorite team when I was a teenager, back in the Don Meredith days. In fact, they were the only team I liked. But a lot has happened since then - Tony Dorsett, Hollywood Henderson, Emmitt Smith, Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson have all been annoying people And as I moved across the country, I kept meeting their pushy & obnoxious fans. No decent person can feel good about the way Tom Landry was given the slip either. I've been told that they're the team that started the tradition of falling on the ball to run out the clock (which I don't think should be allowed)...and of having a quarterback take electronic signals from the sidelines. I also think they started the practice of having floozy cheerleaders. With all the good & exciting teams out there, I don't want to waste my time watching Dallas anymore.
Ostro54 03/19/2004
i hate dallas worst team to ever set foot on the field they should go play high scool ball they ant even goo d enough to play in collage

minkey 12/24/2003
Parcells will turn the Cowboys into a new dynasty and this playoff season shows it. The Cowboys rule! O'Doyle rules!!
Jagged 12/02/2003
The Dallas Cowboys are the greatest sports franchise in sports history. They are truly America's team.
jsharp1701 12/02/2003
Always hated them, always will. NOT America's team, even in the 70s.
andyjay 12/01/2003
As pompous as the New York Yankers of baseball are, at least they don't call themselves America's Team. They may be doing better now, but the past decade proves that they are by no means invincible, not quite America's Team if you asked me. Go Pats or Chiefs!
The Real Truth 11/14/2003
Best franchise. Period.
roblinb 11/07/2003
Although I am a big Cowboys fan, I have to admit that they are not as good as their current record. About 50% of it is the magic that Bill Parcells can work, and the rest is the young guys on this team are starting to believe in themselves a bit more. Although I think they should finish somewhere around 10-6, they won't go far in the post season. NEXT YEAR, however, will be a different story. Parcells will probably get some good free agents and perhaps a good running back (sorry Troy Hambrick, but you're a role player, not a starter) and some more protection for Quincy Carter. Carter is not a top-caliber quarterback yet (will he ever be, who knows) but he is working very hard and until he starts consistently screwing up, I say let him keep the job.
sadiemae 10/21/2003
They are going to be a team to reckon with this season.
