I think that the packers will win about 7 games because they lost the best quarterback in history but the only way they can win next season is by their defense.

When will people accept the fact that Brett Favre cannot make a terrible team good. He has a good number 2 wide out trying to play as a number 1, a decent 3 trying to play as a number 2, a young inexperienced line, a runningback on the decline of his career, and to boot the team is soft and weak on defense.

Favre is a hall of fame quarterback, but his actions this off season were selfish and he needs to accept that his presence will maybe win this team an extra 2 games. This team will not be a playoff team for A MINIMUM of 3 years from now. Let Aaron Rodgers start getting the crap knocked out of him now so he'll get used to it.

Sure they suck this year and are now 3 and 10. And although Favre fans will not want to hear this, Favre is done and should be sitting the bench, at least give Rodgers some playing time. Despite their record, this young and injure-riddled team has played hard in every game against both good and bad teams. They have not been blown out and the players seem to like Sherm and now Bates. I say they still have a bright future if they can keep players healthy as their offensive line and overall defense keep getting better. Finally, Gado could have a great career at Lambeau. He certainly has helped me on my fantasy team!

Can you believe that the Packers are 1-7, but have Outscored their opponents?? How does this happen - well their one win was a blowout, 52-3 against New Orleans, and most of their losses were by just a few points. In fact I believe their biggest loss of the year was by 10. In a sport with only 16 games, there's such a small margin of error and a few close losses will keep you out of the hunt. In a baseball season a team of Green Bay's caliber would be a 500 level ballclub at worse. Too bad one of Favres' final years is going to be a washout.

0-3? Lets get with the program guys. They could be good, but they're not. It's not Bret's fault either, don't even try. His experience is that of a man who has never done anything else with his life but play football. Seriously, get with the program. I am not a packer fan, but I do live in Wisconsin, where Packers Reviews come in more than people go to bars. Reasonably, despite the 0-3 season, I think the Packers are and always were a fairly solid team, although there are barely any excuses for losing to these teams like they did. Focus Bret, get in the game, and show them why your a future hall of famer.

I agree with kimbull that Jim Bates is an excellent D coordinator, but his defenses have always had talent, whereas that seems to be exactly what the Packers lack. Add to that their losses on the o-line and you could see why there's a bit of a murky situation for the Pack. To make things worse, both Minnesota and Detroit appear to be much improved this offseason. The increased competition in the division hurts them. They could have several players step up on defense and drag them into the playoffs, but it'll more than likely take another year or two for Mr. Bates to get his defense rolling. Even Gunther Cunningham, one of the most consistant and dominate defensive coordinators of the mid-to-late 90s couldn't turn around the Chiefs in one season. The same goes for Bates. Give it a year at least for their defense to develop, and by then their offense will probably completely go to pot. They're going to have to rely on developing their own o-linemen quickly for the sake of future seasons, but it's not like they haven't done that in the past.

They have Jim Bates as defensive coordinator. If he can do what he has always done, (have a defense in the top ten) this team could be good - REAL GOOD.

Ah, as bad and depressing as last season was, I can't not like them. However, if they don't go and win the Superbowl this year, my feelings are likely to change, because there's no denying it, once Farve's gone, yes, all hope is lost. Hey, go Packers!

Ahman Green could have done better on yards per cary he had 100 or so yards bur and a tree and a half average. Thats not the Ahman Green I am used to seeing. Brett Farve did great! Micheal Hawthorn had many chances to be the Superstar of the night with the missed interncetion and TWO missed sacks. But overall I am very impressed with the passing offence and I felt the defence could have steped it up. BUT A GREAT WIN.

My son loves football and loves this team. I generally loathe sports and particularly dislike football. Greenbay worship brings me to the point of understanding that much of America simply adores gladitor spectacles mixed with beer-swilling fat people who look like their brain function stopped at kickoff. I believe the three worst things to happen to America are Miracle Whip, NFL football, and Pee Wee Herman. Somehow I wish we could mix all 3 in one event - I might pay!

I'm not a Packer's fan but they play in the best stadium in the NFL. There is nothing better than watching a playoff game at the frozen taundra. This is the smallest market team in the entire NFL and are partially owned by the fans. THis is as good as it gets. Not to mention they have one of the greatest quarterbacks ever in Brett Farrrvvree.

Once Favre leaves, the Packers WILL NOT be the doormat of the NFC North. Nearly every person says this, but they fail to realize the quarterbacks that are currently being trained, upcoming drafts, trades, etc. They are also forgetting that Ahman Green will likely still be there for a couple more years after Favre's retirement, as well as the young group of up-and-coming receivers. Stop being a bunch of morons and realize that the Packers won't suck after Favre leaves.

I live in Wisconsin and, quite honestly, livingm among the Packers and Packer fans, the fans are arrogant and conceited about their team, considering themselves holier and more rightrous and deserving than ordinary NFL teams and the team itself is consistently one of the fattest, slowest, most lack-luster teams in the league. Brett Favre makes them go, when he is gone, so are they.

The greatest franchise in all of sports. It is owned by the fans. The fans are the most knowledgable in the game, too. We don't blindly boo our own players like Philly fans, and we aren't jealous of any other fans anywhere. We can out-drink any other fans, too. Lambeau Field is the Mecca of NFL stadiums. Everyone knows it. There is no experience like going to a game. You just feel the electricity and a buzz that can't be described. The waiting list for season tickets has over 57,000 people on it. Enough said about that. This team also has the league's best player by far, Brett Favre. He is the toughest and most fun to watch. The only people who disagree are those moron Bears and Vikings fans that are jealous cause thier teams blow and never even make it to the playoffs. Screw off you gay bitches who have no clue what football is. The Green Bay Packers is the greatest team of all time. Favre is God!

A professional team that is owned by the fans - nobody else in the Nation can say that. It amazes me that a city of just over 100,000 people can fill a stadium with over 70,000 people even when the team was awful - not to mention the harshest weather in the NFL. Packer fans are the real deal. There are none more dedicated in all of sport. Packer players are treated like royalty in Green Bay, and the consistently comment on how amazing they are compared to fans of other NFL teams. The Packers are truly a unique and amazing franchise.

How the hell can a team with a 4-4 record be rated number one out of all the teams in this website. All the damn WisCANson cheddar heads are brainwashed morons who think that their team will last forever. Besides if they're so good, how many Super Bowls do they have since 1968? One? They were lucky to face a scrub Patriots team with overrated Drew Bledsoe that year. Next year (98) they face old-ass Elway and get smacked around. Yeah, Favre is a great q.b., but the receiving corps this year look much better than what they are because of him. Ahman Green is solid, but I'm just waiting for him to get hurt and see where that leaves them. The defense isn't very good. Once again, Favre keeps the offense on the field longer, keeping opposing offenses from exploiting their second-tier high school secondary. Mike McKenzie? Looks like a Ricky Williams clone, minus the talent. Remember what Michael Vick did them in unstoppable Lambeau Field last January? Lambeau Field is a crappy stadium in an even worse town. They should change the 'Lambeau leap' into the 'Lambeau leak' where the opposing players pee on the fans after scoring a touchdown against the fudge Packers. Not only that, but that stupid 'go Pack go' cheap Paul Diamond-sounding thing they play falls in the same category as Vanilla Ice and Backstreet Boys when it comes to gayness level.

This forum is for CURRENT NFL teams, so forget what they've done in the past. Let's face it, this team was just ripped apart in free agency, Farve isn't getting any younger, and the defense has never been stable due to injuries in the lineup. Farve is one of the best quarterbacks ever, but in a big game, when the offense isn't clicking, Farve tries to force it and carry the team. And many times when he does that he ends up killing their chances (ie Tampa Bay).

And as long as he's with them, they'll continue to be a regular Superbowl contender. When he retires, who knows?
