 | TeresaG (31) 04/22/2008 | While Payton Manning is an awesome QB ~ this team is WAY overrated! Ever since Harbaugh (the Comeback Kid) left the Bears to actually DO SOMETHING, I have no love for this team!

 | Tk7138G (0) 08/13/2006 | The Colts window is closing fast. Their cap situation was greatly helped by the new collective bargaining agreement, but how long can they keep their core offense/defense together. Marvin Harrison is getting up in age, and I don't think that Reggie Wayne could dominate as a true number 1. He'd be good, but he's more valuable with another great WR with him.
The Defense is pesky, and they did great last year. However, they wore down at the end of the year. I'm just waiting for Peyton to win a big, memorable game.
They will win the AFC South unless the Jags can win their game in Jacksonville, and get past their tough schedule.

 | Survivorfan1 (0) 01/24/2006 | I was really pulling for the Colts this year. I was just glad there was another team being talked about other than the damn Patriots. Was very disappointed in the outcome of the divisional game as they just looked rusty and unprepared to play. I guess Peyton Manning has to get monkeys off his back one season at a time. This season it was beating the Patriots on their home turf in Boston, hopefully next year the monkey shaken off his back will be losing in the playoffs. Then we can enjoy seeing him in the Super Bowl.

 | Dukesucks (5) 01/15/2006 | They are the best team in the NFL. If the Colts don't win the superbowl, they never will.
UPDATE: They never will win the Super Bowl because the Choke Artist brothers (Manning and Vangerjagt) did what they did best. Choke!

 | asskickingboots (17) 12/17/2005 | It's hard not to rate a 13-0 team a 5, even if you think they have a weak run defense and an overrated secondary. Offensively, they're rock solid. Defensively, they have holes, but nothing that anyone could take advantage of... yet.
I don't honestly think they're the strongest team we've seen in recent years, (the Steelers last year were way better), but a weak schedule makes them look alot better.

 | LanceRoxas (41) 11/12/2005 | I think this is the Colts year. With advent of this staunch run defense and Edgerrin James tearing it up on the ground Peyton is not forced to win every game with his arm. That being said they can actually control the tempo of the game, win games on grass and on the road. With their undefeated record and 5 home games remaining I don't see anyone challenging them for home field advanatage down the stretch and this would ensure they never leave a dome for the entire playoffs including the Superbowl. And I don't see anyone in the NFC beating them.

 | John Candy (2) 09/26/2005 | Heads up guys. Last year the Jags were the only team to beat The Coltst at home. This year, they won at home against the Jags, but wait a minute, why did they only beat them by 5? How is this possible? You've got two teams here that are very very decent, and I'm going to tell you now that I am not a Colts fan, but I have great respect for how Manning is leading this team; how in the world could a souped up defense only give their offense enough for a 5 point lead? After boosting up their defense, I think Jacksonville is another team to look at especially when talking about Playoff capabilities. My point is, either the Jagaurs are very very under rated, or the Colts arn't much better this year than they were last year. Superbowl? It looks good, but we'll have to see how well they play against their next opponent. In my opinion it's too early to tell.

 | dpostoskie (7) 09/13/2005 | Indy looks great this year and opening with a big win over the #1 defense AND holding ANY team to 7 points is a plus from the 2004 season. I see the Colts in the Super Bowl and I see them winning it.

 | Deborah Jean (0) 12/26/2004 | Indianapolis colts have really helped to build a team spirit for the citizens of Indianapolis. The city is full of blue and white Colts banners, pendants and posters. I wear my 1984 very rare Indianapolis Colts hat to the game once and a while & several people try to buy it. Why is it they have never offered me more than $20.00?

 | califcarlson (0) 04/22/2004 | As of right now it is 3 days before the 2004 NFL Draft and the Colts offense looks great. Now their defense is a whole other story. They lost their starting CBs and their best linebacker and somehow expect to get away with filling an already porris defense with rookies? They better have something REAL spectacular planned for this offseason that wont cost them cap space or else i just dont see this team being its superbowl-birth-deserving-self it was last year. You never know though with Peyton Manning behind the wheel.

 | roblinb (0) 11/08/2003 | This is the biggest threat, at halfway through the season, to Kansas City's AFC superiority. True, you can make an argument that the Titans are right up there as well, but Indianapolis is finally hitting on all cylinders this year. Peyton Manning is living up to his billing as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and Marvin Harrison is playing phenomenally. Edgerrin James is a solid all-around back and Tony Dungy has changed a crappy defense into an opportunistic and solid one. I do know that this team could go blow-for-blow with Kansas City for the majority of a game, and it would be very close. The Colts proved something with that 4th quarter comeback against Tampa Bay earlier in the year, and they have only a few tough games left on their schedule. If they can go to Tennessee on December 7th and whip the Titans, they will make a serious Super Bowl run this year.

 | MurTech (0) 09/23/2003 | First let me explain that I love the Colts and I sincerely enjoy the fact that the organization is associated with Indiana and Indianapolis. I agree that there is a level of community benefit having an NFL team based in our area. As positive as I feel about the Colts, and I believe that there are some facts and considerations that should be reveled when entertaining thoughts about building a new stadium funded by the public. There are some questions that I believe are important and should be addressed for the welfare and benefit of all citizens, voters and taxpayers of Indianapolis and the surrounding area.
I have heard it said that having the Colts located in Indianapolis is important to many businesses, although I have never seen any real numbers on how much, in dollars, that the Colts help these businesses. I would think that if the Colts are important enough to these businesses that the actual businesses would be willing to pay for the construction of a new stadium to keep the Colts in Indianapolis. Why is there consideration for taxpayers to pay so a select number of businesses can profit. Wouldn’t this be considered as “Corporate Welfare”?
I would think that as far as benefit to the community, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway provides more revenue to Indianapolis citizens than the Colts, yet I don’t see any initiatives to build a new Race Track in Speedway. My point is, the owners of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway fund their own improvements and the Colt’s owner should do the same. When the government provides funding on the backs of the taxpayers to businesses, this increases the profits that go directly into the pockets of a select few rather than benefiting the public. Isn’t this considered “Corporate Welfare”?
I believe that when a Government Official suggests that we should force the public to pay, in the form of taxes, for something that may not benefit the majority of the public, that Government Official is not looking out for the best interest of the public. How can we insist that people of moderate or modest incomes pay for a new stadium when, in most cases, those people can’t even afford the price of a ticket to see the inside of that “Grand Monument to the Misappropriations of Public Trust”.
Please understand that I have no malice against the Colts or a new stadium for the team. In fact, I think it would be very nice to see a new stadium or coliseum that the Colts and the people of Indiana could be proud of. But how can you ask the people to pay for a new stadium when we are still paying for the last one?

 | TheMyth (0) 04/13/2003 | Hiring a defensive genius to coach an offensive team. Intriguing idea, and the results are playoffs. But then they get blown out by the Jets. The Colts have a solid quarterback (who needs to cut down on the int's), a solid runningback core lead by the hopefully healthy Edgarrin James and the 1st undrafted rookie to rush for 1000 yards - Dominic Rhodes, and the man, the most under appreciated receiver in the game - Marvin Harrision. But a few players won't make the team, they need alot of work.

 | CastleBee (85) 09/27/2002 | I have no interest in sports therefore I rarely, if ever, comment on what’s going on in that world. But in this case I will make an exception. This team and its owner are currently in a power struggle with Indianapolis…will they stay, will they leave, will they get their way and get a brand new stadium:::whaaaaaa::::. I couldn’t care less if they get a new place to throw their ball around and knock each other down. I don’t even care that they make mega bucks while their beating each other to a pulp. But what does concern me is that they want my hard earned tax money to build this palatial billion $ showplace. If they want it so badly they should sponsor it themselves instead of expecting the entire population of the city to do it for them. Just WHO stands to gain the most from this anyway? Imagine if private schools asked for this kind of backing…or any other private business for that matter. People would be storming the capitol building! So, as far as I’m concerned pack your bags you blue and white dumb clucks and head for the coast and when you get to the beach KEEP WALKING!
