 | rok100 (6) 04/11/2007 | Has anyone checked to make sure that Dr. Laura isn't just Dr. Phil in disguise?
A better question: Why do those on the right seek-out these little personal radio gurus and self-imposed free-thought prevention electronic minders? To constantly confirm their own racist, sexist angry prejudices on their drive to and from work? What is it that exists within the brain of the typical American RWA personality that makes them crave these cut&paste generic voices that they have to put inside their own heads?
We liberals do NOT have this. That's exactly why Air America may be profitable and it might even catch-on with some "moderates" - but it will never be as big or as well-supported as right-wing hate radio, because we liberals don't LIKE being spoon-fed our own missinformation, anger and worst attrributes and having it renamed "a healthy diet". Make no mistake about it, amigos e amigas, right-wing radio is exactly the same - all around the world, from the genocide promoters that used the media's right-wing religious Rwandan Radio to point-out specific locations of entire families as chop-to-people-McNuggets-targets for the maniacs with the machettes - to the Privatize Social Security-crowd and the gunshow army of 'Guns, God & Guts GOPers' who most-likely did the "Anthrax-in-the-Mail messages" terrorism after 9-11 which originated from Rush's Radio syndication stations in Reno, Raleigh and Richmond - from the days of Father Coughlin to today's Rush Limbaugh to the next decade's eventaul Sean Hannity-clone, these people are all IDENTICAL!
They call their radio format "non-guested confrontation". Just how friggin' DeLuSi0NaL is THAT?! Isn't that just a fancy name for screaming at yourself and your imaginary enemies - in a completely empty room - and getting PAIDS for it?
What are the "conservatives" in this country THINKING?!

 | StanUzbeck (16) 08/28/2003 | America is sick, sick, sick. We had better hope that people in the future don't dig up old recordings of Dr. Laura and base their opinions of American civilization on them. Only the most hypocritical and inherently diseased society can have such a hateful harpy on the radio and continue to give her good ratings. And anyone who ever called her up was obviously too stupid to deserve anyone but her at the other end of the line. She ought to be passed around a malaysian prison a few times before being set on fire and thrown from an aeroplane over the pacific ocean.

 | Republican KneeJerks (0) 09/22/2002 | Dr. Laura is my favorite 'reformed prostitute' character because she plays the role to perfection. The spinster constantly lashes out at individuals whose only crime is commiting the same types of sins she herself was once guilty of. Adultery, pornography, bearing false witness,
and sitting in judgment of others is all covered in the Bible's "Sinners 101" class.

 | Quincy (1) 06/28/2002 | The camera never loved this woman, clothes on or clothes off. Incidentally, I encourage anyone who is so inclined to read any magazine article she's written. Her talent for disconnection of logic and weird non-sequiturs is uncanny!

 | Solenoid DH (20) 06/03/2002 | I don't agree with everything she says, by any means. But I have to admire her incredible courage. She believes in being candid about "shacking up," and other misdeeds, instead of using trendy catch-phrases. Her convictions don't come from her own subjective likes & dislikes, but from the Old Testament (her faith is Judaism). It's a shame that most New Testament Christians (including this observer) are so timid by comparison.

 | AryanDan (2) 06/02/2002 | I started off listening to Dr. Laura on the radio and loved her approach to out-of-control women who want everything their way but offer nothing but whiny complaints in return. Those type of selfish crybabies need to be exposed to the harsh reality of self centeredness. She was the only female I ever heard in the Media actually supporting the male, truly a refreshing change of pace. But, something went wrong, she lost all contact with empathy and her holier than thou attitude quickly possessed her entire rantings. Her TV show was difficult to watch because of the humiliating way she denigrated her "guest". Those poor people reached out for help and she slam dunked them. It was like watching the Nazi version of Phil from Oprah. She was so cruel it was just awful to watch. And the way she constantly droned on and on about her religion was annoying as well. It's like we're all happy for you, but stuff a sock in it already. Now, her position on homosexuality is normal for religious folk. It is an unhealthy lifestyle that has lead thousands upon thousands of young people to their death. Some people refuse to accept the truth even when it's killing them. And engaging in homosexual acts is against most religions. Just as adultery and promiscuity is. A sin is a sin is a sin. But we have to admit that religious Americans have become tolerant of Gays, accepting them, if not their actions. So the question becomes, why are the homosexuals so virulently opposed to the religious types? The Gays have become the truly intolerant. I know that both opinions have a place in our society. But, when one group shuts down the other and becomes the default belief of the country by using tactics like labeling other points of view as "hate speech", then we really don't have a society any more, but rather, we degenerate into a thoughtless collection of mind-slaves.

 | Molfan (64) 06/02/2001 | Good, her show was cancelled. I tried this show on about eight or nine occasions. I did not like her sarcastic attitude towards people who she disagreed with. I think I lost count how many times I saw her role her eyes, or smirk at the camera. Or tried to be witty.{not!} I was not impressed by her high and mighty attitude. For goodnsess sakes, she isn't even really a doctor! I do not know how she can get away with calling herself one.bye bye "dr." Laura!

 | SQRUNT11 (0) 05/30/2001 | I really dont care what the so called (PHD), Dr. Laura says about anything. She sets standards and pushs moral values on others that she cant abide by herself. She needs to be removed from the air first for being a hypocrit next for being an idiot. She is the exact opposite of Tom Lykus and Howard Stern. Thank God Tom and Howard are out their to express both sides of the gender. I honestly dont know how she has lasted as long as she has, she appears to be on her last leg.

 | phantomraven (0) 05/28/2001 | The removal of Dr. Laura from the airwaves is long overdue. While conservatives claim that gay and lesbian "liberals" employ a double standard in their protesting of Dr. Laura's views - nothing could be further from the truth. Gays and Lesbians understand that there are those who's beliefs differ from theirs on the issue of homosexuality - it is the expression of such views that are being protested. If you believe homosexuality is immoral, that is certainly your right - you are free to express that belief to your children, in your churches, etc. - but when it comes to the law, that is different. Conservatives such as Dr. Laura actively try to squelch the voice of anyone but the religious right. When they make accusations of "pushing the gay agenda", perhaps they need to look in the mirror. They not only push their agenda, they degrade all those opposed. I have never heard a gay or lesbian activists speak negatively of heterosexuality - they simply seek acceptance of their own - a lifestyle which in fact, causes no harm to any heterosexual family. The teenager toting guns to school, motorists being shot on the freeway and drug abuse are the types of things that will have an effect on your family - not the lesbian couple across the street being able to file a joint tax return or visit each other in the ICU of the hospital. While conservatives are focusing on harmless issues like
homosexuality, real threats to the American family are alive and well all over this country. Perhaps the most ironic thing is this - We live in a country that is the greatest on earth - the freedoms we enjoy here are unrivaled. The conservative right wingers seem to be the least appreciative of that. They live in a country where the expression of their Christian beliefs is accepted and free from persecution. They are not denied rights based on their lifestyles or choice of religion. They need to understand that the fight of gays and lesbians is simply for that same equal acceptance. If you appreciate the freedoms you have, then honor them in principle and grant them to all people, not just those whose beliefs are inline with your own. Dr. Laura never got that concept - hopefully others will. HATRED IS NOT A FAMILY VALUE.

 | vickyM (0) 11/08/2000 | It's amazing to me how the liberal homosexuals and lesbians and their media cohorts keep crying out for freedom of speech. But when the freedom of speech is sending a message that is against their line of reasoning the media and gays cannot stomach it. What a weird bunch of people they are!!! I've been enormously impressed with Dr.Laura'a fight for children and how we as a nation are destroying the lives of children by our selfishness and self-centeredness. Go Laura Go!! We see nothing wrong with killing an unborn child who has done no harm to any human being and yet for those criminals who deliberately plan and execute a savage murder of another human being we do not want the death penalty. One wonders whether liberals have any brains at all or has it been so dumbed down by our wonderful public education that they can't think through things.

 | alicat (3) 10/30/2000 | I first got introduced to Dr. Laura through my mom who used to listen to her radio talk show. I definitely disagree with a lot of what Dr. Laura has to say. She has some really nieve views when it comes to homosexuality and cohabitation but there is one point that Dr. Laura makes that I like. It is that people don't want to see the truth. They blind themselves so when they call her and ask their question, she says, 'you know what you should do, you just don't want to hear it.' It is a point of awareness. That is the only thing I like about her.
