03/27/2008 | the-satanic-spaz - true. I despise Slipknot and I completely loathe metal - every sub-genre. But this bunch of goons are at the bottom of the foul cesspit that is HM, along with other in-breds such as Cannibal Corpse, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Slayer. Maybe Tipper Gore and the Christian right have a good point.

06/19/2005 | Let me just start off by saying I love hard stuff. But let me further say that I don't like hard stuff created by a band that thinks they can tie awesome knots apparently. Give me a break, not only does this band lack talent; they have the worst band name of all time.

1-anyone saying their nu-metal if Corey(lead Singer) herd that he'd smack you
2-Nu-Metal is osmehting that has come with the coming of year 2000 hence how slipknot started in 1996...not NU METAL
3-they are just trying to invent their own sound just like Apocaliptika(cant spell)
4-anyone saying that wait and bleed and duality are there only good songs and you call yourself a maggot fix the m with an F ok cause your not a maggot
5-slipknot for a S**ty band has everyone of its song on the new cd that they have made a video for has made top charts so HAHAHA to POP

01/31/2005 | When i first heard slipknot and saw their masks, they scared me. I started lsitening to their music a few years later and I absolutely love it. I love the masks, the incredible shows they put on, their jumpsuits, and the loud, deafening, spine jerking lyrics. This stuff will make you aggressive as hell ( works out great for the weight room). I understand why some people don't like them, but dont insult them for their masks. its all a part of the show and an extension of their personalities. My family can't stand the music, but im still going to blast it in my room. Stay (SIC) maggots!

04/28/2002 | i don't know... from what i heard from them they have some nice songs, and the new video is pretty good, but first they have some retarded lyrics (i admit i heard only a few songs, but still), and 2nd what's up with the multiple drummers?! it's stupid, only one of them is actually doing something, and the others are just for decoration\preformance. nice masks though.

Some of their songs are pretty good, but I just can't get into a band that looks like they go treak-or-treating every night.

Im speaking of KISS and then Twisted Sister and then Gwar and then Marilyn Manson and now Slipknot. Give up the shock gimmick already.

08/07/2001 | The worst so-called pop I have EVER heard! I would take Korny or *NSANE any day over Slipknot. They yell, screech, scream, holler, and I can't stand them. They flatly refuse to sing. I say they should all go work in a McDonalds. Or better yet, a factory where we couldn't hear them over the noise. Anyone who gives Slipup (oh, sorry, Slipknot!) more than one star is high on something.

08/05/2001 | I feel that Slipknot has projected extreme emotions such as anger and rage in such an artistic manner that it seems funny that human beings, a race prone to aggression, could not enjoy it. And for all you people basing your opinion of Slipknot off of the opinion of Fred Durst, don't you think it's kind of silly? Opinions are the one true freedom we have anymore, and you'd give that up just because you like a certain band that dislikes another? I suppose I just won't understand it.

08/04/2001 | Slipknot can do what no other band I have come across can do. They combine the art of music with the talent of storytelling. Never before has a band been able to describe and project the emotions of anger, hate, rage, and despise like they can. They bring a flavor and attitude to the metal industry that has yet to be matched in quality. They are far from a gimmick. I've been a fan of Limp Bizkit since their second album came out, and then went and purchased their previous and next. I like a lot of their songs as well. Let me tell you something, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot are comparable in what they project, even if they do it differently. To all of those out there that hate Slipknot due to Fred Durst's immature hate for them, get a life. If it weren't for what he said most likely you wouldn't care.

08/01/2001 | Slipknot is far more thank a gimmick. Their old material showed off their ability as musicians and their new work is complete fall out into this growling, anger metal sound. Their lyrics, though consisting of the typical profanites (like Limp Bizkit except used half intelligently), really dig deep down into telling stories. It's really far more than "lets get high and have fun. let's get high and have fun"... what kind of idiot could translate it out as that.... Overall, Slipknot, though gimmicky to say the least, work very well to bring a unique brand of anger metal performance to the music scene.
