Hands-down the greatest coach to never make it to the final four. It's a poor shame that Keady wasn't able to tap the great resource of Indiana high school basketball like Bob Knight could, but he still managed to give the general some great battles. The fact that he drew a 17,000-person standing ovation at his last game in IU's Assembly Hall is just another testament to how great this man is.

Never got to a a final 4 in 87 years of coaching - that's terrible.

Gene Keady is what every coach should be. He can't get the blue chips in a state with IU, Notre Dame, and being that close to other Big 10 rivals, but he makes more out of less than any other coach in the NCAA. Any coach in any division in any kind of basketball will tell you the same, he is a great, great, great coach.

Good coach but not a great coach. A shame that he never got to the final four, probably one of the best coaches to never do so. Given props for making the most out of so little. He wouldn't have to do this if he could recruit.

He looks scary and mean when he's on the court, but he's the nicest man in the world one on one. A good coach!

Great career at Purdue. Always managed to have one of the better teams in the Big10 without the talent of IU, Michigan, Mich St, etc. The last few years have not been great, but it is hard to get decent players without a long term contract.

Great motivator. Excellent coach. Props to Keady for everything he has accomplished. Shame on PURDUE if the get rid of him.

hey when u lose a starting center,lowe for 4-5 game,and other injuries your going to have a tough year.look at iu 1 yr. they had 3 mr. basketball and did nothing.when we lost booker that really hurt.gene cant go to class for them too.im a true black and gold purdue fan.the whole big 10 was week.
