Calhoun is the poster boy for everything negative with collegiate athletics. I need a PDF file to adequately document how ethically challented Calhoun is. Suffice it to say, most of the current UConvict roster are products of unethical and/or now illegal behavior by Calhoun. The following is just some of the worse examples.Marcus Williams committed a felony but Calhoun insured Williams would receive no meangingful punishment because he had no other point guard.Rudy Gay,Denham Brown ,Ed Nelson,Doug Wiggins were all stolen after they committed to other universities . This is considered by fellow coaches to be the equivalent of "backstabbing". What other current coach has been accused of even one instance of unethically "stealing " players?? Calhoun gets away with this behavior because the state of Connecticut has no pro teams and although considered sophisticated is really the Appalachia of the Northeast (except for Fairfield county).

NO ONE BETTER!!! 2 national championships. Over 700 wins. Has dominated the BIG EAST. Note, the impressive thing about his recruiting ability is not just that he gets top players-but that he spots players who are not highly ranked--and develops them into elite players--e.g. Emeka Okafor #98 high school senior on Rivals and non-ranked on most lists--Scott Burrell-not-ranked--Ray Allen--only top 30-now NBA superstar, and it goes on. Will likely finish with 800+ wins and two more final fours. THE BEST NBA legacy for a college coach--put together the ten (yes TEN) UCONN players in the NBA and you have yourself a legitimate playoff team--just on pure talent--the team may have too strange of a make up to be practical e.g. only one pure point guard-- but you know what I mean.

I'm a Syracuse grad and have to admit, Calhoun is an elite coach, and he gets the best of my Orange team too often. I saw a banner at an UConn-Syracuse game recently- Jimmy C vs. Jimmy B...nothing but class. That banner said it all. But Calhoun is right there with his colleague and friend. One of the very best.

Two National Championships and a boatload of pro players. Wins big in the Big East and recruits the best players. A proven winner and one of the best in College Basketball. Not afraid to play the best teams as well.

I think he may be the best in the game now. He clearly outcoached Coach K in this year's semis and in the 1999 finals.

He meets the Shaq in NCAA's, granted Shaq is a little younger and smaller{not by much}and Uconn creams them. I know they lost the next game but after that who cared, went farther then they should that year.Took Northeastern into the Hartford Civic Center at a Uconn Christmas sponsered tournament, you know how that works and who is set up to win, not this year, Northeastern creamed, not beat but creamed DON Perno and the Huskies, I think 2 years later Don is gone and the rest is history. He meets Duke in the NCAA finals 1999, heavy underdog against the Blue Devils and Coach K, you know what happens. This year what can I say.Yes he had the players but he not only had them he molded them and got them to their potential and personally I believe if the officiating in the Duke game was a normal well officiated game for both sides he would have run Duke off the floor, my opinion only. I also like that he is feisty and speaks straight on all subjects. He has founded a Cancer and heart foundation. He represents his school with class and honesty. Is he perfect, probably not but he is a class coach. I would never say the best but he is right up there with those considered the best. Give him the horses and he will get the most out of them. I know his graduation rate is not that of Duke's but he has had a lot of players leave early for the Pro's and the majority are doing better then just average, he also had players leave for Europe who had not done so well, three I know of and he feels bad that they did not get their degree but they were freemen who made their own decisions. He's not perfect but in my eyes he's close.

Jimmy C-Note is the best coach in america bar none. Who else has the balls to buy recruits with 25,000 payments and smile about it? Jim Calhoun took over one of the worst programs in NCAA history and turned them into a winner.....by buying players, Good Job Jimmy C-Note!

Jim Calhoun has done wonders for basketball at UConn. He is a great coach and is an excellent teacher, mentor, and role model for his players. UConn basketball has gone from a regional program to a top rate national program under his leadership.

Had a lot more respect for this guy, til I found out that he pays AAU coaches $20 grand and up, as long as he's recuriting one of their players.

He should be embarassed to be at UConn right now however. Why? Geno Auriemma rules there. It would be interesting to see Auriemma coach the men's team and Calhoun do the women's.

hasn't had nearly as much talent out of high school as the other name coaches...and yet still produces DOMINANT teams!

Calhoun made his place in coaching last year by upsetting Duke, but a repeat won't happen this year.

No class shown after big win last year. From the Dean Smith school of never giving the other team credit.
