I think he's adorable and funny. I would love to be his Valentine. I always stop what I'm doing when I see or hear him on tv. Jill

 | joenobk (0) 10/10/2003 | He is not the most exciting, but give him time to prepare and he will out game nearly anyone using the limited talent and skills of the players he has.

 | UteFan (0) 09/22/2003 | Rick Majerus operates under constraints that only one other college coach in the country does. Namely, that up to half (or more) of his players end up leaving the program for two years at a time for religious service. That would decimate almost any basketball program. But Majerus manages to put a team on the floor that almost every year has gone to the NCAA's, rarely missed a first round and consistently gone deep into the tournament, including missing the championship by a measley 11 points. That is nothing short of *phenomenal* coaching.

 | Solenoid DH (19) 09/22/2003 | He's really a good coach. And I'm always glad to see that someone who has less hair than I have can still be a big success.

 | josh joshua (0) 09/22/2003 | He is a great coach--getting more out of lesser talent then any other coach of the past decade.
BTW, Turtleboy:
Under Majerus the Utes have lost only one first round game of the NCAA tourney. He has won eight or more. The Utes have been to the sweet 16 four or five times, the elite 8 twice and the final four once--losing in the Championship game in 1998. How much further does a team have to go to qualify in your book?

 | UtePimp (0) 09/22/2003 | Rick is a sheer genius. Few could compare in that he annually takes lesser talent and knocks off big named opponents (except of corse UK).

 | waterute (0) 09/22/2003 | Anyone who is a true college basketball fan must admit that Coach Majerus is in the top 5 of current college coaches. He has been a revelation to to the Utah Program and to the Ball State program before that. The guy is an absolute genious. Granted, he has his moments, he has been known to be hard and sometimes too hard on his players, but the bottom line is, he teaches his players the skills they need to be successful both on and off the court. He produces NBA players. Look at Andre Miller, are you telling me Andre would have made it to the NBA if it weren't for Majerus? He wins! He has amazing game plans and can get a team to maximize its potential. I have never seen anyone quite like him.

 | Turtleboy (0) 06/13/2003 | I'm not convinced that he is the coach everyone makes him out to be. We have seen Cinderella stories of no-name schools making it deep in the NCAAs but yet to see Utah as one of them.

 | gocards03 (0) 04/02/2003 | This guy is a walking side show. If spin doctoring is coaching he is good, unfortunately I do not think he plays the level of competition that the rest of the country plays

 | CappyHoops (0) 03/17/2003 | If he can do it at Ball State and Utah he's a helluva coach. Can he get the big one though?
