I want to give him a two, but he probably deserves a four at the very most. I hate him.

He hasn't played in what, 2 or 3 years? Isn't it about time to take him off the current players list?

A complete player? Is this some kind of joke? Sprewell has owned the designation of NBA's Most Overrated Player since he wrested the title away from then-teammate Allan Houston in mid-2001. He always had a high scoring average, but only because he was a very average offensive performer on a team with many options that were even worse than him. He may be the worst rebounding swingman in the game, he's turnover prone, a mediocre passer, rarely gets to the foul line, and isn't a high-percentage 3-point shooter. Yet, because he periodically dunks, is often in the news (for ignominious things, no less), and pads his stats by playing a lot of minutes, people mistake him for an effective player. He is a very good defender, but Minnesota would have done well to give Trenton Hassell, an equally inept offensive player but a far cheaper defensive whiz, Sprewell's minutes.

I would luv him to come back with the Knicks. We need his heart, energy and desire. Spree's not getting much money. That contract the Timberwolves offered him was a complete insult. He's got to feed his family for God's sakes. ... I'm making $50,000 a year and that's not enough. I want $65,000 because I gotta feed myself and my pets.

Shouldn't even be in the league after choking Van Gundy!

As long as he doesn't implode and become overly selfish, he will help the T-Wolves go beyond the 1st round in the playoffs.

I WOULD GIVE YOU A 0 BUT, THERE IS NO SUCH THING... STAY AWAY FROM SAN ANTONIO BECAUSE WE DON'T NEED NOR DO WE WANT YOU!

Spree is an awesome player. It's obvious the enormous steps he's taken from the "altercation" in Golden State. I thank the Knicks and the Garden fans for welcoming him onto the team with open arms. Something that I have to commend him on is that he is always out on the floor giving it his all, 100%. Him and Houston can really go off on opponents at any given time. Sprewell is efficient in going strong to the hole and making things happen. I remember against the Pacers in the 2000 playoffs, he had a broken foot and on the first possession went in for a monster tomahawk jam. I distinctly recall as well the famous run in '99 when Houston and Sprewell combined for 62 points in a second round game against the Hawks. Probably the most memorable performance in his career is during the final game (game 5) of the '99 finals against the Spurs, he and Duncan accounted for 28 of the game's 29 points during a six-minute span (this span included the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter and the first 4 minutes of the 4th). He also scored 21 of his team's 25 points in a 15 minute binge. He finished the night with 35. It was a display of pure basketball brilliance unmatched by any Knick I've ever seen in my young life. Spree is a downright great player and I'm proud to say that he is a part of the Knick organization because he has been instrumental in all of their playoff runs since he's been on the team.

Yo Spree, it doesn't matter what you did back then, sure it was stupid, but you can't change that. You're still one of the best players in the game, and all-star, and the team leader who helped the knicks win the eastern confrence, keep playin the way you do, you and the knicks aint gonna regret it.

As a lifelong Knicks fan, I have a lot trouble rooting for them with this guy on the team. He is a complete jerk who has never taken responsibility for his actions. Instead of apologizing with any sincerity, he has blamed everyone (the Warriors, the NBA, his lawyers, his agent, the media) for the problems surrounding his choking and threat to kill PJ. In fact, he still has lawsuits pending with respect to the incident. He is a bad guy and the Knicks will live to regret their decision to give him a huge contract.
