Tainted indeed. I though he looked bigger the last time I saw him at the plate. Been hanging with Barry, dude?

over 500 hr's and 3000 hits is hard to bag on, though he has never been a dominant player of his era.

Most underrated player of last 15 years. Won a couple gold gloves and can flat out swing the bat. Should be a definite hall of famer, but his lack of recognition may hurt him. 2005 Outlook - Needs less than a hundred hits to get to 3,000, and join Mays, Aaron, and Murray as the only to accomplish both. As long as he stays healthy he should get there.

500 Hrs and almost 3000 hits, but i just dont know about this guy. maybe it's b/c he put the stats up in small market teams, doing it quietly while most of the clubs he played on languished in the standings. I dont know. but i'm unimpressed. the steroid implications havent helped, especially since you can go on baseball reference dot com and see how Rafael's stats seemed to jump after contact w/Canseco.

He should get a 4.5 because he is truly underrated by most people (and writers). He is consistent year-after-year and puts up impressive numbers. He is also a class-act who doesn't think too highly of himself. We need more like him!

Hall of Famer who doesn't have a lot of gas left.

His game becomes more and more limited each year. He still has pop, but those Viagra pills....

The guy has done everything he needs to get into the Hall of Fame and people still say he shouldn't get in. People complain that hitting 500 home runs doesn't mean anything anymore because everyone does it, but you can't stop the inevitability of people hitting home runs. What hipocrates!

Great under-rated player

Palmeiro has had an MVP type year, but because he is such a soft-spoken player, he will unlikely win the award. Thats a shame, because he has carried the Rangers to the Playoffs and to a real shot @ winning it all.

Quietly putting up numbers that could've won a triple crown in some years. A Class Act.
