Good fielder and certainly for his career the best player the Rockies have come up with in their history so far, though this kid Holliday is also terrific. Helton hits very well on the road too, so he hasn't been one of those players who simply gets a huge boost from the conditions at Coors Field. Helton, who's 34 now, doesn't get the monstrous home run and RBI totals that he used to, and he's past his peak, but he still hits for a good average and has some pop still- he's more of a doubles hitter now. A fine player who has actually been somewhat underrated- in part this may be because he doesn't get the attention of the media and public- he isn't playing in a huge market like New York, Chicago, California, Boston, etc. 3.5 stars for his current value.

Amazing hitter, well above average defense, and a team leader. He's a true gamer like Mark Grace.

Is Todd Helton really as underrated as he is, or are his numbers really that inflated because of Coors Field. It seems his stats are some of the best in the NL year in and year out, but he gets very little credit.

All around great player (.340 career hitter!) has avg.power and for extra bases constantly. 127 BB vs. 72 Ks. Best of all, let's his play do the talking.

Pound for pound (pun intended) maybe the best overall hitter in Major League Baseball. Great defender too, a baseball player's baseball player.

Largely underrated--just because he's a Rockie.
Boonta23 04/12/2004
Year in and year out, he provides consistent average, and power for the Rockies.

good hitter

This ex-Vol is representing in something else other than football. One of the best young players in the game. Give him a year or two and he'll be a 5.

The only thing i don't like about him is when he started the .400 batting average thing. My only problem is what about Garciaparra? He was chasing it for a while also. But after Helton started for it,that's all you heard about.

Good hitter and good guy. If he hadn't played for the Vols in football, I would be a huge fan of his, but nothing sucks like a big orange.

This guy is a superstar in the making. First of all, he can hit. People say that his average is inflated because he plays at Coors Field and that's true to some extent. If he didn't play there, he wouldn't be as close to .400. However, he is hitting about .360 on the road which would still be good enough to lead the NL. He is also a great athlete who played QB at Tennessee before Peyton Manning. Lastly, he is regarded as a great guy who plays hard and says the right things. Give him another couple of years and he will be mentioned among the best players in baseball (if he isn't there already).
