The Golden State Warriors got their start in the Baskeball Association of America (BAA) as the Philadelphia Warriors in 1946. The Warriors franchise joined the NBA for the 1949-50 season, and went on to win NBA Championships in 1947, 1956, and 1965. The Warriors relocated to San Francisco following the 1961-62 season, and moved across the bay to become the Golden State Warriors prior to the 1971-72 season. The Warriors play their home games at The Arena in Oakland, CA.
