Income does not have anything to do with going to duke whether you're playing basketball or not. It is blind admissions meaning they accept you regardless of what you make, and then give out need based scholarships so don't be bitter that people that go to Duke are the best of the best academically. Just be content with the fact that UNC is having a great season. ....UPDATE i will never understand why people think Duke gets all the help from the refs. Duke gets so many shi tty calls its ridiculous. Do refs make some mistakes that go in Duke's favor, of course. But generally i think Duke has to deal with alot of horrible calls that have ultimately caused some losses in very close games. UPDATE even if they dont win the championship (which i think they will) they have had an incredible season, earned a number seed, coach k has beaten the all time NCAA tournament wins (**passing dean**) etc. etc. its just been an awesome year and it was supposed to be a building year so i know i'll walk away from this season happy***and calling jj redick a spoiled rich boy is classier?

Ya know....Duke has pulled off some amazing things. They have the Big 3 of course...Redick, Ewing, and Williams. They're not very deep I have to say, but for as little depth as they have...they're excellent. No doubt about it. They lost in the Sweet 16, but who cares!! They got beat by an awesome Michigan St. team with about as much heart as Duke. Williams has the best defense in the league and no one can argue with that. Redick has one of the best shots, and Ewing brings a little of everything. Melchionni has hit some big shots and Randolph has helped Williams quite a bit. Don't underrate Duke only because they have little depth....they're still an awesome ball club. Hey also, they have the MVP of the McDonald's All-America game coming up next year with some other dude....I cannot remember their names right now...oh well. Anyway, Duke is going to have a little bit more depth next year....he he.

I don't hate alot of things... but DUKE is pretty high on my list. Can't stand the prissy rich schoolboy thing and so what if you have a rich daddy... you dont need money to play basketball... you need SKILL! so what if J.J. can play his full 40 minutes? CAROLINA has such great depth that at the highest our players play is 25-30 minutes. If you look on the ACC list for player with most minutes played, of course you'll see J.J. Not one single Carolina player is on that list, and i think that's awesome.. the end of Carolina's bench could beat most teams this season... so who's the better team now? as much as i can't stand Duke and J.J. Redick.. i would never yell f*** u J.J. That was just uncalled for. And the fan who made a comment about sleepin w/ J.J.'s sister. Maryland needs to get some class. No, the UNC fans will never give you a break, Dook. Take it from the neutral Arizona guy who almost started a war here by having the nut to laugh about an old tourney win by the Cats over the Tarheels. UPDATE: Tourney ain't over. ACC CHAMPS just like ems4duke said!!!!! I love this Duke team because their is always someone who can step up for the team. Like if J.J. is having a bad game their is someone else who is there hitting all the shots or making steals or something to help them win. In this years regular season there has been so many people who have step up, and to name a few names the guys are: Shavlik Randolph, Lee Melchionni, David Mcclure, Reggie Love, and Demarcus Nelson and many other guys. When Dockery went out no one thought that Duke would be able to win games, but they provided them all wrong, because other people stepped up. Thats whats so great about Duke. Another guy who has stepped up at a right time every game is Daniel Ewing, which we will miss next year since he is a senior. And of corse the Landlord... Sheilden Williams. I'm also sick of people who think all Duke is, is a bunch of snobby rich boys, well they didn't pay the people to give them a scholarship, they earned it because they are good, so it makes no since to me. Well that all I got to say, and good luck to Duke in the NCAA. GO DUKE! P.S. Hey North Caroline if you can't beat Georiga Tech, how do you think you are going to win when you start playing harder teams in the NCAA tournament?? I find it funny how the refs always seem to give Duke a little help. I mean, the same foul will be on a Duke opponent, but when it could go agaist Duke, it doesn't seem to get called. JJ Redick is an awesome 3-pt shot, he just needs to get going a lil bit earlier in certain games. Sometimes I think JJ plays hero a bit too much, seeing as how they might have won the UNC game at the end of the season if they had given it to someone who had been shooting better. Next year, after Ewing leaves, someone is really gonna need to step up and become the second shooter. Nelson has potential, as does Melchioni, but they still could do with some experience.

Awesome, Outstanding, Incredible, Dominant, and THE BEST! You can't determine who is the better team by who beat who or by who is number one in the conference...It's who gets the job done in a game, and Duke has done a spectular job @ getting the job done. I was nervous about this basketball season @ first, but I have developed faith in my DUKE BLUE DEVILS> and you can tell with every game they play that they have developed that same kind of faith in themselves and in their teammates! This is the most overated team in the nation. They only have 3 titles! They suck worse than Carolina. Im glad they make the tourny every yr because its fun watching them choke each march.

Ok, where do I start? First about this arrogant comment Duke is the crap on our Nikes and our current squad will prove it soon Prove what? That your team is a bunch of losers that lost to Duke (who is a seventh ranked team while UNC was second by the way!) You seemed to have proved everything last night huh. Where are all the trash talking UNC fans now? Off hiding, hanging their heads because they can't stand that Duke beat them (like they do every year, they really should get used to it!) I was laughing my head off after the game when Duke won, because I thought of those UNC fans staring at the TV, mouths wide open in shock. How could we lose to Duke? They were thinking. Simple question with a simple answer. DUKE PLAYED BETTER! Face it. Where was Rashaad McCants? The supposed best player in the NCAA? He had all of what? Nine points? And he played almost all game. DeMarcis Nelson, Duke's freshman, only played half a game and still had 16 points! (more than McCants and the great Marvin Williams) This is what I love about Duke Basketball proving the millions of people who are against us wrong! When JJ Redick hit that first three of the game, I thought to myself This is another reason I love Duke bball. They can do things like that. That shot set the tempo for the whole game, and Carolina never could quite catch up. Despite the valiant efforts of their oh so great players. Props to Sean May though. He had a good game. I was thinking last night about all the Duke haters last night and the insults they continually throw at us. Frankly, I'm surprised some of theses UNC fans can actually put together a cohesive sentence(Get out your dictionary) I give you major props for that. And at least your insults are classier than Maryland's F*** you JJ! taunts. Unoriginal yes, but classy. Duke basketball is and always will be great. I'm tired of repeatedly throwing stats out at Carolina fans. Obviously they don't understand them, otherwise they wouldn't be talking crap about us. Take the stats from last nights game for example. Duke had 17 steals and UNC had 4. UNC had 21 turnovers and Duke had 7. Also look at the scoreboard. Who came up on the top at the end? Point proven.

I don't know about some of these other teams rated higher but Im gunna have to start watching their games I guess.. Maybe the west coast has something for us back here in the east. Ya'll know Im a hometown NC girl though so, Im a big time duke fan. Not sure why people are so against the devils... Anyway..this year is looking good...an experienced starting lineup...but not a very deep bench.. but Melchioni,MCclure and Dockery are doing a good job of stepping up when they get time off the bench... The landlord is havin his way in the post and he's doing a great job of avoiding fouls which is important this season. Shav is playing good D but...shooting ability is suffering...Now that he's bacl from mono though Im seeing a spark in him which is promising. Ewing is a great senior leader but needs to be more vocal...and JJ Redick is coming on strong this year great ppg numbers and his stats are up all around.(My favorite player of the year by far) Im looking forward to this year...its not the best team as far as depth I have seen but they are very capable of winning the ACC they just need to keep up the discipline and work with the bench in case of foul trouble. Im never disappointed in a DUKE season!

Duke absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. UNC is by far a much historic team and always will be. Just look at the pros that have came from UNC... then look at Dukes. AND... if I was on Duke I would tell J.J. Redick to PASS THE BALL or else!!! Ball hog.

I hate Duke more than any college basketball team. Everyone kisses their ass, especially CBS and Dick Vitale. They didn't win anything from 1993-2000, and the way they were treated was as if they had won a championship every one of those seasons. Nothing better than when they get eliminated in the tournament.

I hate Duke and root against them in every game, but to give the Devils their due, a great team. Even if the university is populated primarily by spoiled rich kids.

Does anybody else get the vibe that Cameron Crazies never saw or cared to see a basketball game in their lives before moving to North Carolina? And still, it's all about theatrics and being crazy when they are at the games, not basketball. These people don't know basketball - if you watch them close, they always have to wait for the players' reactions to know what the ref called. They always have a confused look on their faces, followed by either a loud cheer or boo. And the Dean Dome isn't as loud for two reasons: 1/ it is twice the size of Cameron, making it more cavernous, and sounding like an NBA game rather than a high school game 2/ we are watching the game closely like people who love the game do, not putting on a goofy little show. You people know as much about basketball as Bush Jr. knows about being a good president. And we don't call you ugly as a comeback or to get under your skin - we honestly believe that Dookies are quite literally unpleasant to look at. Now go make fun of poor people, or play polo or whatever it is that you do.

I can't speak for the rest of the nation, but people in NC don't hate Dook because they are good, citizens of this state hate them because: 1. they are white collar 2. their fans move to the triangle from Vermont, New jersey, etc. and immediately think they are a part of this thing of ours........NC fans are born with it in their blood. 3.any crazy would so obviously get their asses stomped in a barfight in Charlotte, Wilmington, etc., and yet they think they are crazy badasses when all us locals know they are calculus nerds. 4. Carolina is called whiners by them, when we remeber Dook demanding apologies from our boys for scaring coach K's wife. 5. they have this swagger like they are totally out of Carolina's league, while their all time record against us is 94 - 123!6.to put it simply, this is our territory, and they are foreign hords............they are who they are because we were here first( think about it). Dook is the crap on our Nikes and our current squad will prove it soon! I don't understand how they lure recruits. If I were some recruit from Chicago or Charlotte that visited Dook, I would see the volvos , the sweaters tied around the necks, the ugly nerdy chicks, the republican atmosphere, and say, hey, Carolina had students who look and think like me, the girls were hot, players who go here turn into stars, folks here are down to earth........know what I mean? I don't think there is even an argument for the best team since 1990. Anyone who says otherwise is just a UNC fan. I don't know how these teams haven't one more championships.

Why do people always criticzes Duke's pros. Think about former all-stars Grant Hill and Elton Brand. What about Corey Maggette and Carlos Boozer? Jay Williams still has a chance to be big. Duke is a great school with the best coach.
