This team is good and their rating in their conference doesn't show it and if they were in the eastern conference they would be 4th place

It's a fun team to see. They are old but they run and move the ball quickly. It's a well balanced team:Inside Shaq and Amare are huge, I miss a more solid game from both. They would need more help from the becnh.Outside: Nash, Hill, Barbosa, Richardson and Barns make up a good shooting and quick team.If they make it to the play offs they will be a tough team to beat.

The old timers in Phoenix will probably be a bubble team this year in the rather deep West. Shaq, Nash, Hill and Bell all have a lot miles on their legs. They're still pretty good, but I think their window as a contender has closed.

Great addition to the NBA.

booooo! they suck!
cthroughpaint 07/13/2008
Fun to watch but underachieve.

Only the refs can stop us, and that is why numbah is boycotting the NBA...

Not my team. Not my area. i respect the team for what it has done, however. I also liked Barkley.
sperryc 03/10/2008
i admire kerr's guts for pulling the trigger on the marion - shaq deal, and i really give shaq credit for the incredible effort he's given since his arrival in phoenix, but i'm not convinced the deal will help the suns' cause. they'll lose in the first or 2nd round of the playoffs.
Supernatural IQ 01/23/2006
A very flashy team, I'll give them that. They can score. I'm not a fan of Marion, but he's proven to be a scorer and defender and I respect that. Amare Stoudamire is amazing. Big men as a whole have gotten away from the guts, defense and low post banging that used to be their trademark and more toward three-point shooting point forwards ala Kevin Garnett. Amare brings the toughness back. He's an inside force. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of the Suns but I do find myself entertained by their high-scoring ways. My concern with the Suns is that they may go the way of the Dallas Mavericks - all flash but they never win a championship due to defensive woes.

Might not be as good without Joe Johnson.

No D, no win, period.........ah ah ah ah ah I said PERIOD. It's amazing how some NBA coaches STILL don't understand this. .............HELLO DALLAS! Christ, Dallas has more talent than any team I've evr seen. They should've won the last 5 NBA titles. Looks like Phoenix is going down the same path. Look, those guys are going to score - don't sweat that. Take a page from Roy Williams' playbook, and take the rims off the boards before practice. Let it be known that defense is the main priority. With lots of talent, it's easy to get those guys scoring. So, take the rims off the damn boards during practice, and REFUSE to let them get a slack defensive mindset. When Roy decided to do that, the next game, I felt like NC State wasn't going to score one damn basket. They were AWESOME on defense after that. Try it, Suns. OR, run like hell with no Defense in sight again next year, and get knocked out early..............AGAIN! Take a team like Detroit against Phoenix, and they'll slaughter them. They're thinking, well, we have trouble scoring usually, but not tonight. And we know we can stop ya'll from scoring 150. Hey, what a simple game! Check my clutch shooters weblist.

Well, we had a hell of a season Phoenix. Hate that yall lost to an awesome Spurs team. You got beat by a better team this year and that's all there is to it. Wait until next year though, yall will be excellent. Nash, Stoudemire, Johnson, and Marion will be a force to reckon with in future seasons.
Jar-Jar Binks 04/17/2005
I didn't expect this team to win 60+ games. They're probably the team to beat in the West. They're a great running team and Steve Nash, Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudamire are playing like MVP's. ... Too bad that they'll have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs because they are such a great road team.
37102002 04/13/2005
high scoring teams usually dont fare well in the playoffs. I can see them going out in round 2.
BBallruler32 03/16/2005
Possibly could be the Greatest running team of all time next to the showtime lakers. But they need better defense and some players *caugh* Quintin Riichardson *caugh* need to take fewer shots to get their 15 ppg. It shouldnt take 30 shots to make 7 or 8.
GoTigers11 02/14/2005
As a die-hard Suns fan, I've enjoyed this season a lot, but am wary of the postseason...I hope for the best, but I worry about being let down. Even moreso, I worry about the Colangelos trading Shawn Marion next season, like they always do (ie Charles Barkley, Michael Finley, Jason Kidd, Stephon Marbury) Everytime we get close, the following season comes the trade to clear up money, then we get the next salary dump in exchange. Casey Jacobsen for Jim Jackson was kind of like that...Jackson has been a bust ever since he came into the league, so I don't see how he helps. Jacobsen was a tireless worker who didn't score much, but killed himself when he was on the floor, and it'll hurt not having that kind of work ethic come off the bench.
magellan 01/10/2005
Wow - I can't remember an NBA team that is more fun to watch than the 2004-05 Phoenix Suns. They are stacked with ultra athletic scorers who like to run the floor. Stoudemire is an absolute beast, and I don't think that Nash has made a bad decision all year long. These guys are playing basketball the way its meant to be played - if you haven't checked them out yet, I strongly recommend it.
Alexg681 01/01/2005
My Suns should get more than 5 stars!!! Finally a very good team, although honestly they're not as good as their record, Spurs are better.
MariusQelDroma 12/19/2004
Quit selling our good players, Jerry! UPDATE: Jerry stopped, and the Suns currently own the best record in the *league*, not just the West. Always been a fan, always will be. Glad to see they're back to runnin'n'gunnin'. :)

This year looks to be one of the best they have had scince 92-93. They will take the Pacific Division, a good battle against Seattle for the Western Conference, and have a good chance for the NBA title. TO DENVER JUUSAN: What season are you watching? UPDATE TO DENVER JUUSAN: First of all, I have been watching the Suns play. Have you even been watching the games? How can you say that the Suns are going to be 8th ranked with only 1/4 of the season, as you put, has been played? Why don't you wait untill the 3/4 mark of the season and get back to me. WAKE-UP DENVER JUUSAN: You are doing what you are claiming numbah and myself are doing, prediciting the outcome of a season. My question in to you, how are you coming up with this picks? Again, do you even watch the games or are you looking on your Playstation at the overall ratings of the players? ON THE PAST?: If you didn't get it the first time, this is about CURRENT, not the past. As far as the Nuggets, Melo-Yellow is not saving them. And if your basing the Suns on the other pro teams in Arizona, you better look back a lot further on the past, scince you seem to like doing that. The Cardinals, they have always sucked, The D-Backs, on bad season so far, and the Rattlers of the AFL, 3 time AFL World Champions, in six apperances. Fact of the matter is, The Suns are on top, and it will take alot for them to drop to 8th. So, again, like you said before, when the season is 3/4 of the way through, then make your play-off claims.

Phoenix is awome.
conhusk 05/03/2004
with current western style team domination (team like SPURS, LAKERS, WOLVES, KINGS, MAVS would always be in the top leader board), SUNS would have to win more games, sign great player, get great draftpick. keeping stoudamire and matrix would be the key, get rid of the rest.
yoshislink 03/31/2003
Many may say that the trade was stupid Marbury for kidd but Marbury can still mature and become a great player. But still this team would be average.
pablolotto 01/31/2003
First of all, this is my team, and I'm glad they are playing better this year. I don't think it's all because of Amare Stoudemire. A big part of it was the play of Penny Hardaway. Now that he's out, they're struggling. Stoudemire is the real deal, though. He'll be an All Star next year and an MVP candidate in three years. The Suns need to get rid of Googs. He's doing nothing but taking up valuable payroll space. Starbury is starting to make the ridiculous Kidd trade look a litlle better. He's brought his game up a notch. Now, if Joe Johnson can do the same, we'll be set.
callmetootie 04/09/2001
The reason why I'm giving the Suns such a great review is because they used to be such a crappy, horrible team, and they've made such a great comeback, traveling all over the place, and winning all of these games against such bigger teams.
Robbou812 03/06/2001
Probably the most underrated team in the NBA. Just a big man in the center and they would be unstoppable. They have the best point guard in the NBA and a great coach. Their young talent will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.
Wiggum 06/21/2000
Add a great center and the Suns are all set to challenge the Lakers, TrailBlazers, and Spurs for the top spot in the West. With Kidd - potentially the best guard in the NBA - distributing the ball, and a healthy Penny picking up his scoring and defense, the Suns have most of the key building blocks of a great team. They just need one or two more players to take it to the next level.
