Alf was an awesome show. I don't think I've seen it since it was still on the air. I think it was a time where people just wanted to watch a puppet from Melmac. Just for a change, anyway. It kind of broke away from the typical sitcom.

People couldn't get enough of him in the '80s; ALF memorabilia was everywhere. I even had an ALF T-shirt. I remember this show quite well, and with fond memories.

Ha! I kill me! Ok, you had to see it to understand!

Alf ruled!

never heard of it
numbah16tdhaha 04/15/2008
I still have Alf stuff put away somewhere. TO HATTER: Melmacian, I think. The cat is the remedy, not the cause.
UPDATE: Found my stuff. I have one stuffed Alf that's a little over a foot tall and ALL FOUR Burger King puppets. Yes, you can all be jealous now...
Spike65 04/09/2008
Four stars if you are a little kid. Otherwise it is torture to watch.

This Is A Prime Example Of How Bad TV Was In The 80's. I Never Watched This Show. I Didn't Have To. I'm Not A Big Puppet Fan.
twansalem 05/06/2007
Another great 80s sitcom. I don't care how ridiculous the idea of a cat-eating alien from Melmac is, its funny. I don't understand why the networks don't put good comedies on the air anymore. Everything is either some stupid drama (Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, etc.) or a ridiculous reality show. I watch more reruns of late 80s and early 90s sitcoms than I do of any current tv show.
Jeremy00081 09/19/2006
Wow...all I remember about this show is that Alf is an alien who eats cats...which is AWESOME!! Whoever thought up this idea is a comic genius. Unfortunately, the show itself probably wasn't that great, because I remember it boring me to pieces as a kid. 3 and a half stars for the fact that Alf eats cats.

Awful show. I don't think any of the untalented cast ever acted again.
Mad Hatter 06/17/2005
Numbah does a good Momakian Hiccup. (Alf's hiccups after eating a cat.) UPDATE: Thanks, numbah.
kattwoman 06/16/2005
alf was a funny short cat eating furball. i loved the show.

Hand me my shotgun. I have to kill my TV if this comes on.

only slightly better than mamas family

Why this show was high in the ratings in the 80's just baffles me?
BeatlesfanStev eo 07/13/2004
Pretty funny but I like alf better in 10-10-2-20 commercials.
pulcher 01/22/2004
man, did i wanna punch alf...
larry_biz 01/13/2004
You gotta love ALF. Even PETA can't complain...he never ate Lucky.
tvtator 11/02/2003
Alf could be funny at times. The Dad was such a nerd. If you hate cats, Alf could be your hero.

You know, I really liked this stupid show. They ran out of ideas quickly though, and the later episodes (read: anything after season one) are painful to watch. Willie's reactions to Alf were hysterical. He always looked like he was about to spontaneously combust.
MarjorieB 10/17/2003
I loved Alf!
Jenny Drury 08/12/2003
This show was ok.
heidikay 08/05/2003
I haven't seen this in years. I did like it as a kid. It is such an 80's show. I loved the 80's sitcoms, most of them.
Gabbygav 07/30/2003
Alf was a great show, I can's see why some of you hated it, it was all about an alien that crashed in a garage and his adventures. It was one of the best shows ever created- I wish it was still on because I would watch it.
RebelYell1861 05/11/2003
I'm gonna give it 4 stars simply due to the fact that Alf ate cats and cats are mean, useless animals.
Moosekarloff 04/28/2003
This show was just average, but somewhat more inventive than most. I thought the humor wore thin in the first season. The actress who played the mother had a nice chest...

ALF WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS GROWING UP. HE WAS SO CUTE AND FUNNY. I WISH THEY WOULD SHOW RERUNS OR SOMETHING!!!
whitedevil311 03/19/2002
This show was one of my favorites growing up, it was so funny and cute and who can forget Alf's unshakable appetite for cats?
LoneUSFullHous eFan 02/05/2002
Good clean show, I wish it had lasted longer.
Texx 11/20/2001
I wish he had caught that cat! The show was harmless and on occassion funny.
ChristianPride 10/26/2001
Such a nice family show. Wish it was still on.
Snoopy 10/07/2001
It was a cute show, but nothing special.
wild8266om 07/08/2001
Instead of a series about Alf, I'd rather see a series about Max Wright's life according to the Enquirer!
CastleBee 04/05/2001
For a time – and it was a fairly short time I will admit – Alf was a really cute, funny, and enjoyable family show. No, it didn’t try to tackle mind boggling or serious topics nor was it trying to educate or convince you to vote for a certain political party. It was merely a kind of unique and off-the-wall little comedy – kind of the Muppets light-hearted answer to ET. Alf himself was a wisecracking, but basically good-natured character who rather resembled a two-legged anteater. He provided his adopted family with a weekly combination of insanity, grief, silliness, affection and loyalty. Like the other wonderful Henson creations, his unique look, voice and actions resulted in an endearing and very likeable little creature. I doubt the creators of this show ever meant us to take Alf’s plight of being separated from his beloved planet Melmac any more seriously than the love story between Kermit and Miss Piggy. Still, some of the writing contained bigger doses of wit and wisdom than several other TV shows I could name. I think Alf ran its course and, in doing so, he accomplished his mission – to bring us a little good, clean fun for a little while.

ALF is one bad series. It's extremly confusing and goofy, and is never, ever entertaining. Max Wright was such a sore loser and poor actor. The whole entire premise was stupid, although it made ALF a popular 80's trend. It may have been cute back then, but the humor is so unfunny and used it's hard to enjoy one bit of it. A poorly written theme song also.
Jeff Albright 03/27/2001
A good show? Alf?????
Swordfish 01/26/2001
Brain dead show, but it was fun anyway.
mongrelpup 01/24/2001
Oh, c'mon.
Jami10489om 12/08/2000
A little silly at times, but a harmless and funny show. My only problem was the way that NBC let the show end. It served better. The guy who played Willie on the show is now on Norm.
Cassie94 11/29/2000
Loved it as a kid and still do. It was a show that didn't hinge on sexual tensions....GREAT!
libby 11/02/2000
Alf is funniest alien i know
DarkWolf 11/01/2000
I gave it a 4 because as a kid I loved it. *hides in shame*
