We werent planning to buy a new TV but then the old one decided to stop working. Since we arent very electronics savvy I did a good amount of research and in particular went to different websites where I could read a large number of reviews, both positive and negative. What I found out is that if one can afford it many would buy Sony, but based on hundreds and hundreds of user opinions, the quality of Samsung LCD HDTV was excellent and in many cases thought to be equal to that of Sony. Once I decided on a brand I went within the brand to look at various models. Again, not being tech savvy I went to an electronics website to make sure I knew what features I wanted, and more than that, I knew what they meant!I found the TV online with free delivery and no interest payments for 2 years..not to mention $600 - $700 cheaper than the local Best Buy. Everything went smoothly and we love the tv, the one thing I will say, especially if its going into a smaller sized room. Make sure you do your homework on what size would be most appropriate in that room. Do yourself a favor and dont give in to male testosterone talking (like I did) who insisted on the 46 inch, even though it is as I suspected too large for our home. It worked out okay in the end but we had to do some rearranging just so we didnt feel as though we were sitting on top of the thing. My significant other would never acknowledge this out loud, but I think we might have been just as happy with the 40 inch one.Aside from what I've mentioned, I cant comment on the technical specs but the color is quite vivid and I really like being able to have different screen settings depending on whether youre watching sports, movie, etc. Overall the value for money is excellent and I would do it again.
